About a month into planning, my mom and I quickly realized we weren't cut out for this whole wedding planning thing. Thankfully, we came across Brigett with B-Golden Events and everything started to quickly fall into place! I can not speak more highly of Brigett and all of the hard work she put in for our big day. She is ambitious, creative, extremely organized and amazingly talented in the art of wedding planning. I would recommend Brigett to anyone and everyone who would listen!! Thank you Brigett, for making Carson and I's wedding day, a day we will never forget!

Adriel was our day-of wedding coordinator on very short notice. She was organized, worked well with vendors, and even brought her own ideas to help make our day go smoothly. She was great! I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator.

Zelda is amazing! My husband and I were thrilled to share our special day with her. During our planning process Zelda was very communicative, friendly and helpful. We met several times prior to the wedding to discuss plans and details; at one point we even changed the date of our wedding and Zelda was extremely flexible and happy to work with us. She is a beautiful person inside and out and just brought so much joy to our wedding day with her awesome uke playing and singing. Our guests loved her and so do we. Thank you Zelda!!

I received some of IH's custom stationery and also attended a wedding they coordinated. Stationery: absolutely amazing, the likeness of the drawing was a perfect blend of my charictaristics and simplicity. Wedding: STUNNING! It was my absolute favorite wedding I've ever been to, and I sing at 5-8 weddings at least a year that's not including the ones I just go to. The decor was classy and yet fun. It was a beautiful wedding while still feeling fun and joyous without the usual stuffiness. I would absolutely recommend Inspired Help in every aspect!

Lauren and her team did an amazing job coordinating my wedding. She worked with my husband and I every step of the way in the months leading up to it to ensure we had everything done on time. She contacted vendors and was their day of contact so I didn't have to worry about anything but getting married. She did a wonderful job decorating the space we had our reception in just how I'd pictured. If you don't want to worry about making things go smoothly the day of your event, hire Lauren. Her organization was flawless.

“We did the early planning on our own. I’m a wedding calligrapher so I had contacts to reach out to in the industry who were very helpful! However, hiring our day-of-planner was a game changer. We were so lucky to find Hailey of HK Weddings and Events. From the moment we met, she made it her mission to give us a carefree, handled wedding day. I like to be prepared and it’s hard to trust someone you don’t know to handle things how you’d like them handled. Let me tell you, Hailey made everything happen and happen well. She was flexible with our last minute details, when she didn’t have something she needed from us, she figured it out and it always turned out wonderfully. I was stressed out a lot towards the end of the planning before we found Hailey. I’m beyond grateful for her dedication to our big day and her general awesomeness!”

Brown's flowers did the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres for my wedding, and they looked amazing! They were easy to communicate with, reasonably priced, and beautifully done. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and they delivered exactly what I wanted. The bouquets were so big and full for the price I paid. They lasted all day too! Above all, the man who delivered the flowers on my wedding day was great! My wedding coordinator was over half an hour late and we couldn't get into the building, so the delivery man found a way to call the priest in residence to open the building for us. I completely recommend Brown's for your wedding floral needs!

At first I thought I could get things together myself, but I soon realized getting together an awesome wedding is a full time job! Aundrea took me on as a client and took a HUGE weight off my shoulders! She is so sweet and kind and took over immediately. You name it, she was in line with EVERYTHING, that makes a wedding “storybook” like my friend called it. The venue, the food, the photographer, the drinks, the bartender, the flowers, the decor of the venue in the colors we chose, the invites, the thank you notes, the seating cards, organizing the ceremony itself with the officiate, the timing of the ceremony and the music of the ceremony, the wedding parting gifts to the guests, decorating my house for the after party, OH MY GOSH, have I forgotten anything! JP took care of us and made our event the most awesome day of our life. Thank you JP and Thank you Aundrea.”

Working with Millie allowed me to have the wedding of my dreams. She was thoughtful of things that I would have forgotten about, organized, receptive to my ideas, and put all of my anxieties to rest. We met repeatedly to make sure all of the details were taken care of. The day of the actual wedding, I was calm and collected and able to truly focus on what mattered the most - getting married! Millie made sure there was not one detail or anxiety I had to think about or worry about. Having a wedding planner was not initially something I thought I would want or need, but as the plans come together, it became clear that having someone to organize things, conduct the specifics of all the minute-to-minute details and specifics would make the whole wedding day experience that much less stress-free and memorable. I can't thank Millie enough for her reasonable rates, exceptional organization skills and overall love of wedding planning. She helped ensure our wedding day was perfect!

Do NOT look any further than Patrice for your wedding coordinator!! I married my best friend on August 18th and it would not have been the day I had always dreamed without Patrice and her assistant Gina. She made my wedding beautiful, she was on top of her game, made sure everything ran smoothly and made sure my vision and what I wanted was executed above and beyond what I asked and what I wanted. She knew what I needed without me saying anything. She is MORE than just a day or coordinator she is with you and for you from the day you hire her. She is constantly in contact with you, suggestive and supportive. Many many times I had some bumps in the road in the months leading up to our wedding and she went to bat for me, helped me and made miracles happen! She is the real deal and I highly recommended this phenomenal woman who wants your day to be special and she will make sure it gets done. I’m so glad I found her

Lauren receives my highest recommendation. She is professional, trustworthy, detail-oriented, responsible, efficient, and able to jump in without direction. Here’s why I would recommend Lauren for any event planning, event management, or wedding day coordination. I hired Lauren to be my Wedding Day Manager for my wedding to be held near my home town in Kentucky. I was planning a wedding from 1200 miles away in Colorado. She was understanding of my unique situation and provided me with sense of security that everything on our wedding day would be well taken care of so we could just relax and enjoy. She did just that. Lauren showed up to our venue without ever seeing it before, got a short walk through, and was able to take it from there. She made sure everything happened the way it was supposed to when it was supposed to. She had an eye for the details and helped make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. She took over the entire day, everything from helping men with boutineers to directing the food service staff, she did it all, successfully and efficiently and in the most professional manner possible. Lauren provided the best possible wedding day coordination and more importantly she provided us peace of mind, which is absolutely invaluable on your wedding day. You won’t regret hiring Lauren, she’s an excellent choice for your event management needs.

            Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

            • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
            • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
            • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
            • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
            • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
            • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
            • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
            • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
            • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

            What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

            • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
            • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
            • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
            • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

            • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
            • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
            • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
            • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
            • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
            • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
