Bug Me Not was very professional and personal. I was seeing pest in my kitchen, Jamerson responded quickly and provided service that was effective and effecient. He treated the inside of my home, the outside, and my garage with several different types of pesticides. After researching several companies, Bug Me Not defiently had the best price. I had this guy come out last year in Sept. of 2017 and I am writing this review in July 2017. I had gotten bed bugs from buying a futon off of Craigslist that had an infestation apparently. Upon trying to get rid of the futon I made the situation worst and basically ended up getting them across my home. John responded to me right away and gave me a reasonable quote. Also gave me a back up that said he would come back out if I still had issues. I followed his directions to a "T" and I can confidently say that I have not seen a bed bug since! I would highly, highly, highly recommend!!! Great service, great communication, very professional! Thank you John!

Just had a bug and rodent control treatment done from Smug Bug services. Wade is a real professional and gave more time and detail than any other company or pest control services that I have used in the past. His knowledge and expertise along with a very reasonable price was worth having the service done. You can reach him on 214-985-3590

HomeSafe did an EXCELLENT job cleaning our dryer vent! We have a 14 year old home and, in all likelihood, the dryer vent had never been cleaned by the previous homeowners. The "before" pictures taken by our technician, Justin, revealed that our dryer vent was extremely clogged which explains why our nearly new dryer was struggling to completely dry heavier loads of towels and bed linens. I was absolutely amazed by how spotlessly clean our vent was in the "after" pictures. The entire staff was extremely professional from start to finish. They happily provided proof of insurance per my request and had a quick turnaround with the pictures. Justin even nailed down a few rows of shingles on our roof that had come loose. I highly recommend HomeSafe Dryer Vent Cleaning!

We had bed bugs that were brought in from relatives from out of town. Tyler's pest was recommended to me by a neighbor. I called and they came out and took care of my bed bug problem quickly and affordably. Would do business with them again.

This was the most thorough job I have ever had. It included removing spider webs under the eaves and dusting for every kind of insect on the yard beyond what was expected. There was no skimping inside or outside paying attention to all aspects. I will keep the service to maintain this very complete initial treatment.

I signed up for thumbtack and decided to go with someone other than Jeff, boy was that a mistake! They promised a heat treatment like the one Jeff does, but after viewing my cameras in my house was quickly realizing I had been scammed! The company did not do what was promised and after a lot of headache I found out they weren't even licensed!!!! 😳 Now I was out money and still had a bed bug problem! Jeff was patient with me being hesitant to trust anyone else from this page, gave me a great deal, and came in after hours right when I needed him and ACTUALLY DID THE CORRECT HEAT TREATMENT FOR BED BUGS! I highly suggest you go with Jeff if your at all questioning getting what you pay for... he is the real deal and I cannot thank him enough, glad to know there are still good hard working people in the world! Now I can sleep at ease, thanks again Jeff!

Savior Termite & Pest Control is a great company with amazing service. I have had them treat both my previous apartment and the home I now currently live in. I have had a great experience at both locations. I have never had to call them for a retreat because bugs came back after a treatment. When Savior shows up the bugs leave. If you have a bug problem they are the ones to call

I have been using Home Exterminating Services for several years. They have provided us with termite inspections for homes we have sold and bought. They have performed fertilization and pest treatment for our trees and most recently have helped us eradicate some rodents in the attic. We use home exterminating to perform treatment around our house every two months and have had not issues with bugs in the house. They are always on time and communicate if running late for an appointment.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to kill bed bugs?

The cost of bed bug extermination depends primarily on how widespread the pest infestation is and how many rooms need to be treated. Other factors that can affect bed bug extermination costs are the amount of clutter in the location, additional furniture that needs to be treated, and construction of the home. Pest management professionals often have rates for room treatments, which can vary based on these factors. As an example, a pest management company treating a 10-by-15-foot room with light infestation might charge clients about $250, while the same size room with a heavy infestation and large amounts of clutter might cost the clients $300-$400. Clutter and heavier bed bug populations mean more product and longer labor time for the workers. Rates will vary from company to company, and from region to region, but the national average bed bug extermination cost is $320-$400. Bed bug heat treatments are an alternative way to exterminate these pests. Heat treatments are typically charged per square foot and tend to cost more than chemical or non-chemical spray solutions. Although effective, they are not usually recommended for occupied spaces, as the extreme temperatures can damage televisions, window dressings and other home furnishings.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
