Pree does an outstanding job adjusting the workouts to meet my goals and drives me to work harder every session. I started training with only experience in cardio/running and I now have strength in muscles I've never had before. I now have knowledge of a full body workout and have a workout routine that fits with my lifestyle and goals. I would recommend Pree anyone who wants to improve their fitness and health/nutrition. Thanks Pree!

Chef Bon has been coming to our house each week for the past three and a half months, and she has changed our lives! Not only is her food amazing, she has catered to our needs, and our health has improved greatly. After being diagnosed with diabetes, in a short three months, I have been able to lose 25 pounds, lower my blood sugar and cholesterol all by eating her yummy, healthy foods! She is very personable, reliable and really cares about us. I can't recommend her enough.

Leslie is amazing. I've only been training with her for 2.5 weeks now and she has been so kind and thorough and awesome. I'm generally a little self conscious about working out but Leslie has made me feel very comfortable and has also educated me a ton me about a variety of different aspects of health and wellness. I've been seeing her twice a week and am hoping to continue as long as I can sustain it financially. Leslie is the best. Seriously.

Thrival Nutrition is an excellent source to take back your health in a time when it is so easy to drown in unhealthy lifestyle choices and practices. I have utilized the blogs for any and everything that pertains to nutrition and natural remedies and I have received a few services such as the e-course and a group meal plan! All are fantastic and I recommend Thrival to all my family, friends, and peers.

Jen did some reiki and an akashic records session for me. I was really touched. She came through with very informative insight I couldn't have gotten any other way. Plus, she is very honest. One time I got a session and she noticed that not that much had to be worked on, she simply suggested we work on something else because I didn't need the reiki at this time. She is a true alt. health polymath with integrity!

I've never had a personal trainer before so I did not know what to expect. Esia started off by assessing where I was physically and where my areas of opportunities were. He explained why parts of my body were over compensating versus other parts. Esia always has something new to add to each workout session. In addition, ECR Performance LLC also offers meal plans. He understands that not everyone can afford the meals so he breaks down how your body responds to food and gives great input on foods to eat. During the workout sessions Esia does a great job encouraging you even when you feel you can't workout anymore. I cannot say enough great things about ECR Performance LLC.

I arrived early for a class the other night and Michael was the host. While we were waiting for students to arrive he told me about his frequency generating machine and offered to give me a mini- treatment. I was only on it for about 5 minutes, but it was amazing. I immediately felt a sense of relief, well-being and positivity. I felt very optimistic and physically well all day the next day. A chronic pain that I've had in in my right breast for years moved to a different spot. It was elongated and milder. The next day it went away. Since I have a lot of chronic health problems, and I believe there may be some spiritual/emotional roots, I made an appointment to go back. This morning I was on the machine for an hour. I wasn't worried about the possibility of detoxing too fast because my diet is clean and I do systemic cleansing regularly. So I invited him to crank it up as high as I could stand it. My eustacian tube (sp?) started itching like crazy while I was hooked up and I felt some drainage down the back of my throat. Later in the day I felt a something in my nose blocking my nostril. I am not sure what it was, but it kind of looked like a tiny little dried up red hookworm. Better out than in, I say. I will definitely be getting a series of treatments.

I began training with Derek four years ago. When I started my training, I didn’t have clearly-defined goals and I had been struggling with extra weight for some time. I was intimidated to do anything besides cardio at the gym. Derek was very patient with me and customized a program that I was comfortable doing on my own. When I was ready, he helped me with my diet and I saw results almost instantly. I lost 60 pounds while strengthening my core and putting on some muscle. I’ve even been able to control my blood pressure and stop my hypertension medication! Derek has been instrumental in achieving my health goals. Over the past four years, I’ve gained confidence in myself while learning about my body, health and nutrition. Derek’s very well-educated in all aspects of wellness and his enthusiasm in passing on his knowledge is refreshing. I still walk away with something new from every session. Derek is a great trainer whether you are seeking assistance in power lifting, or if you are simply looking to make healthier choices (like myself).

I really appreciated her attention to my needs. I really needed a coach that would push me and keep me on track on days when I did not want to work out, and she did that! Not only did I go into our month session with a better understanding of how to utilize her workouts at my home and at a gym, she provided a meal plan that I could take with me after our session was over. Overall, I was very satisfied with all of the supplies Bri gave me for success and I'm so excited to continue my fitness journey.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

          What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.
