Great instructor!! Is explaining everything so I can understand. I have taken Spanish in high school and college and they always just focus on learning words and not grammar. So I have never been able to put a sentence together. Luz is great and is teaching me the grammar part so I can actually put sentences together. Highly recommend!!

Luz is a creative spanish tutor who is very positive and keeps the lessons entertaining while instructive. She is able to structure the lessons so pupils of varying ability can work together or offers individualized sessions as well.

Luz is a great teacher! She's customizing my lessons to work on the skills I need help with the most. Also, she's making me work on my receptive skills by doing most of the teaching in Spanish.

Lusine is an excellent teacher, one of the best I have ever had. She perfectly balances professional and personal relations with students. She is knowledgeable, engaging, motivating and encouraging, at the same time very realistic and honest in her assessments and evaluations. Her ability to identify the exact needs of students and guide them through the process to reach their respective goals is invaluable and precious. Her creative and positive approach to teaching makes learning process not only efficient but also fun. I can highly recommend Lusine as a teacher! Irrespectively of what goal you have, you can rest assured, she will help you to reach that goal! With warmest memories of her lessons, Zina

Emilio is a fantastic Spanish tutor. I had been learning without a lot of structure for a while so he's really helped me go back and fine-tune my understanding of some of the more tricky elements of Spanish grammar. He also does a good deal of conversation work, which is the hardest thing to practice imo.

Lisa B.

I had my first session with Emilio today and I left feeling pretty enthusiastic and optimistic. His teaching style is what I was looking for in a teacher and his appreciation of the Spanish language is evident.

There are not enough stars to click that would quantify the impact Melba has had on my life. When I was fifteen I set my heart on studying under her after discovering the Theatre program she ran at St. Edward's. I was blown away by the magic they conjured on that stage. The quality of work was like nothing I'd ever seen before. By senior year I was invited to attend a weekend-long workshop and audition for a scholarship to the program. This is where I was introduced to Melba's paradigm, and the transformation began. By the end of my freshman year at St. Edward's, I was an entirely new person. From the beginning, Melba emphasized the importance of being a grounded, connected, empathetic human being as a necessity for authentically portraying any character. The language she used always resonated with me on some cosmic level. She created a supportive space for me experience a breakdown of all the filters and boundaries I had accumulated up to that point and then gave me tools to facilitate a rebirth. Second to the birth of my two children, working with Melba was the most transformative experience of my life. She has comforting, motherly energy while simultaneously challenging those around her to connect at a deeper level, to breathe with purpose, and remove the ceiling from their dreams. Melba is limitless. Her impact is evident in the success and character of her former students, in her social and professional connections, and in her very impressive resume. Today she is my mentor, my collaborator, and my dear friend. She is a gift to anyone who gets the opportunity to work with her.

I was a student of Melba's for three years at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX, and an actor under her direction in many productions there at Mary Moody Northen Theater. I count Melba as one of the few key mentors that profoundly influenced my direction and trajectory as an artist. Melba is an expert at identifying and fostering collaborative relationships. The creative family she brought me into at St. Edwards continues to thrive together more than ten years after. We're all still doing what we set out to do at St. Edwards, in one way or another, and I know we all draw from Melba's many lessons and inspirations regularly.

I have taken three theatre classes with Melba Martinez as the instructor. My work with Melba has been inspiring and transformative. She is deeply intuitive and insightful and knows how to bring out the best in each student. I can see the results of all the practices I have learned in her classes in my professional and personal life. Many areas of my life are moving forward in positive ways because I now have more presence, confidence and vitality. I credit Melba with most of these improvements.

I strongly recommend Japanese lessons with Kazki if you are serious about learning the language. Kazki is a native speaker who wrote his own book that he uses for his lessons. The key difference is that he focuses on developing the right pronunciation. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but it makes a world of difference if you actually go to Japan and try ordering or asking for things. I go to Japan twice a year, so I directly experienced the benefits of his approach. Also, I work with a lot of foreign people and I can see the long-term trajectory of bad "habits". Some of these people have a rich vocabulary and a good understanding of the grammar, but they can be very hard to understand because of their accent. Don't be one of those people! Once you learn things the wrong way, it will be very difficult to correct them. If you are planning to invest your time into learning Japanese, then why not to take lessons from a native speaker with years of experience teaching foreign people Japanese? I recently went to Japan after taking lessons for 6 months, I definitely enjoyed my trip a lot more, as I was able to understand things and I was also able to communicate when it mattered.

Kazki is such a great teacher! In the past, I have struggled with language courses, especially if the teacher is a native speaker of the language, because they can't understand what might be difficult for me as an English speaker. Kazki has thought through these difficulties and broken down his lessons to make it so much easier to understand Japanese grammar than I could using a typical method. I also like that he gave me an opportunity to ask specific sentences/phrases that I would like to learn for immediate use as opposed to waiting until we get to it in a lesson. Very excited to continue lessons with Kazki!

We hired Kazki to teach us some Japanese before a 12 day Japan vacation. He was flexible with time, and we had several sessions over Skype. He is a fantastic and patient teacher, and the work that he did with us made our trip so much easier. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to either brush up, or go deep and learn a new language.

Eugene is masterful at taking the vocabulary I already know and guiding me to new vocabulary through full sentences and conversations. In our meetings, he leads me in a way that I am able to share about my life in a new language. The thing I love most about Euguene's teaching is the simplicity and ease he creates through conversation in Spanish and I'm a beginner!

Eugene is a gifted and fantastic teacher. I have struggled to get a basic ability to speak any other language my entire life, and after a few short months with Eugene I learned more than I did in years. I can't wait to come back to Austin and work with him again. Highly recommend!!

I have taken many Spanish classes over the years. I have studied in college classrooms and with tutors both native speaker and not. Ryan was the best teacher I ever had. He really knew how to get me to speak in Spanish. The lessons were interesting and he incorporated my personal interests into the lessons; cooking, art, biking, immigration issues, México... He was also very flexible with my schedule and class location. I highly recommend Ryan.

If you want to learn Spanish language with a positive, supportive, extremely knowledgable and understanding tutor, you will find no one better than Taylor West. Not only has he made learning Spanish easy and fun, but his knowledge of the language is so extensive that he has specialized our sessions to emphasize Spanish spoken in our future home, Costa Rica. His lessons are well prepared, entertaining and the study materials he provides are based on reinforcing skills acquired in previous lessons. We genuinely look forward to seeing Taylor for each lesson. We highly recommend Taylor without any reservation!!! Diane and Chris

I got to know Sami while he was taking part in our program "together for a more colorful world". He was a participant and taught children and youths about cultural differences with a focus on human rights. The lessons he conducted were mostly held in German and he showed excellent skills of using the language. Sami developed his language skills during the time here and learned even the tricky bits and pieces of the language even native speakers stumble over. Beside his participation in the project. I got to know Sami as a pleasant person to talk with about politics, philospohy, economy etc. He is a very good listener and is always open for feedback. It was great having him here in Germany and I'm grateful for having met Sami. Thank you very much and I wish you all the best for your great future 🙂 I hope to see you again on a "Bratwurst" and "Sauerkraut"

Mrs. Libersat and I are colleagues in education for many years. She is a resource for me and her students, who show unmistakable and significant growth, are fortunate. She is a consistent leader in her field, creative in identifying accommodations or innovations to meet the needs of her students. She served as a generous mentor for many peers using her deep and extensive knowledge of educational methods and language acquisition to assist others in their learning journey and too guide them to attain their goals for professional improvement. The students in her classes are engaged by her energy and creative approach. She practices a wide range of strategies in grouping, learning styles, cultural examination, technology integration, and student-driven activities. Her lessons show astute understanding of what is relevant to students. Her projects and activities pull in the students and the observer. Because I trust, and have witnessed her professionalism and eagerness to find ways to best connect with students and tap into their interests, I have often and will continue to consult her for resources, ideas and inspiration as an educator and stakeholder in the educational community.

Mrs. Libersat was my advanced level Spanish teacher for a small class size, providing very individualized attention and thoughtful support for personal learning styles. Each class session was full of both Spanish language and culture, and enthusiasm and skill were strong from both the students' and teacher's sides. I would highly recommend Mrs. Libersat for individual and/or group tutoring and Spanish language development.
