Ahsan Raza says, "I would like to start off by this, please do not let the lack of reviews avoid working with this company. I was hesitant but the reviews on angi list and home advisor, gave me some comfort (enough to explore). I worked with Mason, who was very helpful, not pressing at all, and understood the investment i was making and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. To add to the situation, I was moving from VA to TX. You can only imagine the trust issues on a large project like this with out being in TX. Mason displayed patient with me, worked around my challenges, and just awesome. I would say, ask about their journey and you will get a clear explanation around the lack of reviews. We had to do foundation work and it involved a whole side of our house. Mason walked me through his recommendation and how Texas dirt brings challenges that I need to considered. The day of work: Mason's team showed up on time (6 team members), started working all day until they finished. Finished = Digging, installing the metal piers (14 total), fixed external cracks that were caused by foundation issues, covered up the wholes, patched up cement, took all the extra dirt and padded it down all around the house to help with lack of dirt, recheck levels in side, had conversations with us through out to explain anything we wanted to know, and (not part of their service), heard my wife scream of a snake siding and saved her from fighting a snake (garden snake), and threw it away (no up charge for killing snake). We still have to go through a couple third party engineering and plumbing inspections to be taken place and I am very confident that there will not be much suprises. Also, If I have an issue i will reach out to Mason who has been responsive and nothing less than amazing to attend to my concerns or questions. I have full confident this will close with out issues. Also, there are warranties around the work they do so if something was to fail - they will be back to fix it with out cost.My hope is that while the companies reviews are going to grow that most people can move forward with Firm Foundation with out the concerns I had because its been nothing less than amazing."See more

Amena K. says, "Alonso and his team did our concrete work, and overall we’re very happy with the results. They showed up on time, worked hard, and were honest and straightforward the whole way through. The price was very reasonable, and the concrete looks solid and well done. We did notice a few little dips here and there, but from what I understand that’s pretty normal with concrete. Nothing that takes away from the quality or function. Just a heads up to anyone planning this kind of project—concrete work can be messy, so it’s best to wait on doing grass, landscaping, or other finishes until after the concrete is done. We had large machines walking on our grass(which we intended on replacing so it didn’t matter)"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

An online search is the quickest way to find a list of the best landscapers in Dallas. By going online, you can easily compare landscaper ratings and identify the landscapers who’ve reached Top Pro status.

As you’re browsing through potential landscapers online, read Dallas landscaping company reviews left by customers and be on the lookout for photos of work done by the professionals. If possible, look for photos of the landscaping projects you want for your yard.

For instance, if you’re interested in low-maintenance landscaping like hardscaping, search for images of the landscapers’ work that included gravel walkways, brick patios, etc. Or, if you grow native plants and trees, look for photos of aquatic milkweed, desert willows and more.

Also, do a little bit of research to find out if the landscapers you’re considering have any licenses, certifications or other credentials. For example, you might want to make sure any landscape irrigators you’re considering are licensed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. And, you can search the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners to look up registered landscape architects.

Your final step is to compare quotes and make your selection. Contact the pros, and ask them to send you free estimates of your project. Ultimately, choose the landscaper you believe has a solid reputation and offers fair, reasonable pricing in the Dallas area.

The cost of landscaping can vary widely based on the type of plants you wish to have, the amount of grading required, the condition of the land before work begins, and other factors. Adding in designer or high-end landscaping, as well as hardscaping such as sidewalks, walls, or patios will add to the cost. To find out how much your landscaping will cost, contact landscapers near you.

A landscaper is worth it if you don't want to invest a significant amount of time and effort into planting, trimming, raking, weeding and performing other operations on your garden or yard. Hiring a landscaper to perform regular maintenance in your yards and complete bigger projects is valuable if you’re looking to sell your house. A professional landscaper can make your house more appealing to potential buyers.

Some landscapers may perform maintenance duties — remove leaves, mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs, etc. —  but they can also help you bring bigger projects to life. This may include adding a misting system, an outdoor fireplace, water features, artificial turf, a patio and much more.

Start contacting landscapers near you to get free estimates and start planning your project today.

The price of landscaping varies widely due to the range of choices that can be made, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $320 and $20,000 for your landscaping work. The national average cost for a landscaping project is $2,600.

Factors like the choice of plants, the amount and type of hardscaping, the square footage of your landscaped area, and the region you live in will have a significant effect on your landscaping cost.

The average cost of fence repairs is around $250, with most homeowners paying anywhere between $200 and $300. Fence repairs have a wide range of potential costs, however, ranging from $50 to as much as $1,443. The cost of your fence repair project depends on multiple factors, including where you live, what type of repair you need, the terrain and the fence materials used.

You can shop for landscaping rocks from a variety of different sources. The first option is large chain retail stores specializing in home improvement and gardening. Often, landscaping rocks like slate and other slabs arrive on pallets and are sold in bulk, giving you a great deal. Your local landscaping store also carries rocks, and you may even have a stone or quarry seller nearby who can sell you the rocks you need. When in doubt, contact landscaping companies near you to see if they have rocks you can purchase.

Landscaping is the intentional placement and maintenance of living plants on an area of land or in your yard. This can include trees, lawn, flowers, bushes and other plant life and often incorporates mulch and other organic matter. The primary purpose of landscaping is to provide beauty to the house or building it surrounds.

Many landscaping companies also offer design, architecture and construction services. For example, they can help you design a yard that incorporates a patio, deck, pool, fire pit, lighting, walkways, retaining walls and more.

A gate can sag for a number of reasons. One common reason is that the screws holding the hinges in the wood or other post material have come loose, causing gravity to pull the fence down. Another common problem is the gate post’s lack of stability. Posts can become loose and start to lean, or if they are wooden, they can even rot at the point where they meet the ground.

Fence repair is better for common problems that only affect small areas, such as a broken picket or a shifting fence post. However, there is a rule of thumb to follow: If the repair project requires replacing 20% or more of your fence, it’s probably time to replace the whole fence. The exception to this rule is if the fence is fairly new and just part of it is damaged.

Landscaping your property can boost the value of your home between 5% and 15%, according to Better Homes & Gardens. They specify that this is the amount of value added when you upgrade the condition of your landscaping from poor to good, though these terms are subjective.
