We contacted JL Home Services because there was water coming from my hot water heater. He came out and said we need a new hot water heater. The next day he installed the new hot water heater and within less than 24 hrs. We noticed water coming from around the hot water heater. We contacted him to inform him of the water on the floor around the hot water heater. He said he was working on a job , and as soon as he finished he was heading my way. Then hours later he still haven’t made it and we called him again and he said he was still coming needless to say he never showed up that day. We called him multiple times the next day and he stopped answering our calls after that.

Response time was quick. Michelle was friendly. Tyler came over and looked at the water heater and the circulation pump. Decided to get new water heater installed. Jonathan and his partner were quick. Price was fair along with the warranty they offer. There was an issue the next day and Michelle was able to get Jonathan out in under 30 minutes. I contacted Tonio last month because we were needing to replace our water heater after enduring ongoing issues for the past 2 weeks. My husband and I agreed to have him come out and do the replacement for us which consisted of him draining our old water heater and then going to get the new water heater and bringing it to our home to install. We were told that the installation would be around $400 which was great. We paid in total around $1000 for the install and the new water heater. Tonio was very quick to respond to my message on this app regarding our urgent need for water heater maintenance/replacement, and he was able to come out to service us the same day I contacted him. The reasoning for my poor review is because of the following: 1. Our water heater is located inside a closet where we store the cats litter box as well as our Christmas tree. The old water heater was installed in a specific spot so that someone could easily pass through the open space between the water heater and the wall to get to whatever they stored behind the water heater. When he removed the old one and installed the new one, he did not put the new one in the same spot where the old one was. When he removed the old one, there was a distinct clear round imprint in our floor where the old one had been, since the flooring was installed after the original water heater was installed. He had hooked up and filled the water heater up so it couldn’t be shifted over into the correct spot without draining it which would take more time to do. He seemed to be rushing since it was a little late on a Monday night and I don’t think he was anticipating that it would take him until 9:00pm to finish up. We appreciated him staying to get it done but we could no longer access anything behind our water heater because he didn’t install it in the correct location. Anyone else would have seen the round imprint and placed the water heater in that location especially since the new one was the exact same size as the old one. If he was unsure about it, I wish he would’ve told us but instead I had to see after the fact. His excuse was that the pipes were too short and we would need a longer one if we wanted to move it to where it needed to be. 2. Fast forward to a few days later and the new water heater that he “installed” began to leak from the top and got worse the next day after we noticed water on the floor of the closet. I told Tonio about it and he said all we would need to do is tighten the pipe. We didn’t feel comfortable doing it ourselves so we were going to have him come back out to fix the issue as well as move the water heater into the correct spot. After a few hours, we were faced with a flooded closet because water was spewing out of the top of the water heater like a fountain. I was so frustrated with how everything went, that I told Tonio not to worry about coming to fix the issues because we no longer felt confident in his work. My husband and friendly neighbor spent hours into the night and early the next morning on YouTube trying to fix what was going on and managed to have everything working perfectly. Tonio did explain to me that he had a lot going on and that this was a side job of his and that he worked a full time job. 100% understand that and it’s not a problem at all. However, when you cannot fully complete the requested service that you claim you know how to do seamlessly, then you not only disappoint your clients but you create other issues that would have never came about for your client’s home. We were terrified that because of all the water coming from the water heater, we were going to have much bigger electrical issues. Thankfully we did not. My advice, would be for Tonio to seriously re-evaluate what kind of service he wishes to provide ALL of his clients, because according to other reviews of his work on the app, he does a wonderful job. For my husband and I being first time clients, he dropped the ball. Had he not screwed up so badly we would’ve hired him for other house needs in the future but unfortunately, we will not be hiring him for any future work in our home.
