FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been mostly self-taught until about 2 years ago. Until then, I had taken lessons from a teacher that really didn't engage me or offer the core music knowledge that I needed. Now that I have taught myself, I want to teach others how to play guitar so that they can enjoy making music.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Guitar students should seek a teacher that fits the way they learn. Some students want to be challenged by taking basic coaching and learning by themselves, but some like information to be given and demonstrated. Some like to ask lots of questions, but some like to observe... I personally cater to different learning styles, but I work best conversing with students and clearly explaining things so the student understands the concepts at the smallest level.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I want my customers to know that I am also very much a music student myself. That being said, I have a lot to offer a beginner/intermediate guitarist and I understand what guitar students want from a teacher and from their playing. The guitar is an instrument that doesn't reveal all of it's secrets right away. What I want to do is give students the tools to understand the instrument and develop their own style.
