There are no words to describe Steve & Cindy..... Outstanding, Amazing, Marvelous, Extraordinary, Impressive, Incredible, Fabulous; are just a few that come to mind when thinking about this Husband and Wife team! From the moment we hired Steve & Cindy they have been awesome. I had never used a DJ before so i really didn't know what to expect, but I can say that SRD went above and beyond what I was expecting. It felt as if they were the hosts and I was the guest, which was a big relief and I was able to enjoy myself on my special day. Steve & Cindy kept in contact with us throughout the wedding planning, even showed up to our rehersal the night before. They help you plan out your timeline, even throwing in a few helpful suggestions to make things go a bit smoother. I honestly don't think that they could have done a better job. They kept the timeline together, Steve coming up to me to make sure I wanted this done next and that done afterwards. And they definatley kept the party going! They did an excellent job of keeping the dance floor crowded, if the party started to die down they would play something to get everyone back out onto the floor. All night long my guest kept coming to me and telling me that they were having a blast and that the DJ's were wonderful. Steve really knows how to connect with people :-) I have to say the saddest part of the whole experience was saying goodbye to Steve & Cindy at the end of the night. They did such an amazing job and treated us so good that we just LOVE LOVE LOVE them. All I have to say to Steve & Cindy is "Thanks for everything & plan on coming to our Anniversary Party next Halloween!"!! If you are looking for a DJ then SRD Entertainment is a MUST! I promise you that you won't be disappointed!!!!! - Richard & Tiffany G.

Cathy was incredible. I was so impressed by her attention to detail and knowledge of the business. She helped me find vendors and kept up with them to make sure everything was on track. She met with me every time I came into town to go over things and keep me organized. Cathy offered very helpful suggestions that I wouldn't have thought of. I'm so grateful I had her support throughout the planning process and on my wedding day.

The task was planning my 50th birthday party. It was a game night theme. The most difficult part was finding a hotel to have the event. The second difficult thing was communicating effectively in order to get things done. We met a total of four times to get everything done. This was great considering what we had to get done. I did do most of the buying of supplies but Dayna made all of my ideas come to life. She was a big help with the cake, decorating the hall and making sure the party stayed on schedule. Dayna set up everything the day of the event and I could focus on me! I loved that part the most. Dayna also handled most of the snafu that came up with the hotel too. Dayna had very effective ways to put things together quickly and had great ideas. I would highly recommend her to plan any event.

We are incredibly thankful for Tiffany! She was absolutely amazing and very professional throughout the entire ceremony and reception process. I could not have asked for a better day-of coordinator. I regret not hiring her earlier into the wedding planning as a full wedding planner! She came into the picture when I had mostly everything settled. But she did have to deal with a few bumps in the road. Magnificent professionalism. Our wedding day was stress-free because I knew she had everything under control. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She even surprised us with a little video the morning after our wedding. We loved watching the little clips and pictures she took throughout the day. Thank you Tiffany!

Lynn was absolutely AMAZING! As a bride, I could not have asked for anything more for my wedding. Lynn understood my vision, and executed if perfectly. She was incredibly organized, budget conscious, and always gave me great advice. She was available at all times, and quick to respond to all my questions or calm my fears. She helped me select my vendors, and worked through all the details with them. She was extremely warm and friendly; not only to me and my fiancé, but to our guests, the venue staff, and all of our vendors. She made the whole experience very enjoyable, and I cannot thank her enough. It has been several months since my wedding, and many of my friends and family are still raving about my wedding. If you are looking for any help planning your wedding, Lynn is a person I would absolutely recommend for the job, and already have!

Kristen is in the late planning stages of my wedding with me and I could not have picked someone who fit me better. As soon as I met her, I knew I had hired someone who would work her hardest to get all the details right, calm my nerves and allow me to be a bride on my wedding day while she handled everything behind the scenes. She's reasonably priced, has lots of industry experience and I would recommend her to the moon and back.

For every bride who ever said to herself "I don't need a wedding planner" let me tell you "YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND." These ladies should not be called wedding planners they should be called Fairy Godmothers because the work that they do goes above and beyond. First and foremost they are super organized which makes someone like me feel very at ease, there is nothing worse than a scatter-brain planner. They have so much experience and such an amazing positive attitude that planning our wedding was actually a fun experience. The day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about anything, we had an amazing time. Thank you ladies for understanding our vision, for being patient with us and for making our wedding one that our friends have yet to stop talking about. #keepintouch #chicharrones :)

Where do I begin? From the moment I walked into the store I knew was in the right place. The staff was so helpful in planning my son's birthday party. From the balloon and decoration selections to rentals like the bounce house and tables/chairs; it was definitely the best place to go. I will definitely use this party store for future events!

We hired Janelle just a few days before the wedding and we were so happy that we did! Se did a custom pkg for us that ended up being perfecdt for us. She had a package for set up and clean up, and we did that but we also added a few separate services. She put together all of our centerpieces, picked up my dress and helped with some other crafts that I hadn't finished. Withoug hiring her, I don't know if I would have walked down the aisle with my hair done or not! I only wish that I had hired her sooner!

Thumbtack needs a 6 star rating for "Outstanding". Cynthia Denise Events was outstanding. I'm a busy professional, and Cynthia handled my engagement party with minimal input on my part (just basic input) and perfect judgement on her part. I'm not a party thrower, so I'm amazed … THAT A PARTY THAT I ACTUALLY THREW … was such a smashing success! Cynthia's selection of venue and vendors (food caterer, photographer, etcetera) was excellent. Kenney, who is Cynthia's husband and DJ, has a great knack for getting people into the spirit of going out on the dance floor (my song list of traditional country songs bombed at my party, but Kenney's versatility and feel for the audience got people into the mood really well). In conclusion, Cynthia is very organized, she has a delightful personality, and you will enjoy working with her in planning your event. But most importantly, you'll be very pleased with the results of your special event.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

    • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
    • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
    • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
    • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
    • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
    • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
    • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
    • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. Also, extra details, such as managing food trucks or setting up snacks in addition to the meal, will increase the cost.

What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

    • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
    • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
    • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
    • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do you have a portfolio? Ask to see photos of their favorite weddings, especially if they’ve managed any that are similar to what you have in mind. This will help you see if you like their style and if their ideas seem fresh and creative.

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

    • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
    • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
    • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
    • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.
    • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
    • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.

Even if you don’t think you need a wedding coordinator, check with your venue. Some require that couples hire a day-of wedding coordinator for the day of the event.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
