About a year ago, while searching online for a general contractor to renovate a home of mine, I came across Brivenca Builders and decided to take a chance and hire them to do the job. It was a 2600 sq.ft. home in a high rise building and we completely gutted it and rebuilt it. Fast forward one year, and we have now completed three projects together. Edwin and his team are professional, timely, meticulous, and very easy to work with. I have always been able to rely on them to manage, and get the job done, and done right. I have worked with other General Contractors over the years who are a little less expensive, but, I have learned that you get what you pay for, and in many instances, I end up paying more in the long run trying to fix their mistakes. I had called three Thumbtack pros to do my porch and patio projects but to me the GEI RENOVATION showed how “estimation” on a project needs to be done. Ido came over and he spent some time discussing the projects with me. After dealing with some pretty terrible contractors in the past, working with John and his team at Renovation Houston was a breath of fresh air. They went above and beyond our expectations to remodel our kitchen, bathroom and wood floors, and we are so thrilled with the outcome! As first-time home buyers doing a complete house renovation project, New Generation Contractors is the perfect company to work with as they were flexible, patient, communicative, meticulous, and exceptionally responsive. 
 Flexible: We had a tight timeframe since our previous lease was running out, but Jerry and his team were able to work with our schedule/situation. Also with notice, NGC was able to work around the other contractors we had doing smaller jobs around the house. They were also flexible with our payment methods.
 Patient: With it being our first house, we had a TON of questions about the process and/or if we noticed something a little off to us. NGC had no problem taking the time to explain and/or correcting any issues. Communicative: Jerry was thorough in his explanations and if there was a potential issue, he would make sure to make you aware PRIOR to correcting it. We noticed some contractors will just do the bare minimum and attempt to patch it up/work around it until it becomes a possible problem later.
 Meticulous: It became clear immediately that Jerry was very detail-oriented as he would catch things that we didn’t even notice or think of. This was one of my favorite things working with NGC as I have a very similar personality, and it taught me a lot just speaking to Jerry.
 Responsive: After going through the house renovation process, I would absolutely say that this is the top quality to have as a contractor. In this market today contractors are extremely busy and I get it, but as a customer, you would want the people you are working with to be present (especially if you have an important, time-sensitive question). Jerry and his team were this and more. He would actually be at the site performing the work and not just send his guys to get the job done. If we needed something, he was just a text/call away and would get it figured out for us. We sincerely appreciated that and this is one of the main reasons why we will continue to work with NGC on future home projects. We highly recommend New Generation Contractors and we hope this review helps you when looking for a contractor on any of your future home projects.

At first we were excited to work with Ido and GEI Renovation Group. The first time he visited on-site, we didn't have our plans in order. Rightfully so, Ido said we should talk once we had all our plans. Fast forward about half a year. I sent a text message to Ido to see if he would still be interested in our small project as I finally had all the required plans and even pulled all required permits in the City of Houston. We met the next day and he went over all the plans. We were supposed to receive a quote about a week later. More than a month later, 3 or 4 emails sent, 4 follow-up text messages and absolutely no response. A simple reply to ANY of those communication methods would have been nice. Even if to say he couldn't take on our project, his workload had increased too much, or the project was too small in scale. Instead, we wasted valuable time trying to get a response and quote from someone who just isn't professional at communicating.

Do not hire this company – a costly mistake! I hired this company for a full remodel, including a bathroom and kitchen renovation, as well as interior and exterior painting. From the beginning, there were issues. Toward the end of the project, I noticed that significant areas of both the interior and exterior were left unpainted. When I brought this up, they demanded an additional $10,000, despite our contract clearly stating that a complete paint job was included. Unfortunately, I didn’t pursue the issue further due to the potential for further costs. To make matters worse, after paying them with a cashier’s check, the project manager, Damian Lee, accused me of providing a “fake” check and made an extremely offensive and racial discriminating comment. Later, the owner confirmed that the check was valid, but the experience left a terrible impression. After an inspection, I found that NONE of the plumbing work had been done correctly. I contacted the owner, Saad Airout, over a month ago about this, and he promised to send someone to resolve the issues, but no one has shown up. Attempts to speak with them in person have also been ignored. If you’re looking for professionalism, accountability, or quality work, I strongly advise against using this company. They’ve cost me time, money, and peace of mind.

This is a long overdue review, but we just bought our first house in June, 2020. I shortlisted a number of contractors and although he is not the cheapest, I decided to go with GEI and Ido for their positive reviews on Google and Thumbtack. I appreciate that he's willing to work with my changing requests in the middle of a stressful pandemic and his crew did a great job in some of our most important projects: replacing our bowed ceiling and siding, as well as painting the new siding. Although we only met a couple of times, communication was not an issue, and after speaking with his crew, I can see that he did a good job in treating his employees well which earned him their respect that translated to quality workmanship. One important thing that I wished I had known was that they do not work on Saturday, which I fully respect that, but it has delayed our project and costed us a few days in hotel because they tore up the ceiling on Thursday/Friday and it was idle on the weekend. Had I known about it before, I would asked them to start the ceiling project on Monday so everything is done in one week. Overall, I am happy with their delivery and would recommend you to at least check him out for your renovation projects.
