Introduction: I have been teaching and playing drums professionally for 10 years. Through that time span, I've toured all over the country and had the opportunity to play with Grammy award winning artists. I currently have endorsements with SJC Custum drums and Xcel Drumsticks. I teach all styles of music from rock, pop to jazz and country. I love helping my students pursue music that inspires them. It's important to me to connect with my students and find what motivates them to pursue drums. From there, I try to help my students reach their musical goals. I’ve been taking drum lessons from Nathan for about 4 months now and I can’t say enough great things about his style of teaching and how much he helps you understand the art of drumming. The way he breaks everything down makes it easy to learn and keeps the motivation level up. You can honestly tell that he loves teaching the drums and is very enthusiastic about the progression of his students. I really appreciate him not only teaching different genres of music, because it really helps you learn different techniques, but he also genuinely wants to teach you music that you want to play. Nathan is the best choice for professional drum lessons!

I can not say enough about Nathan! I have started taking my 10 year old daughter to him to learn the drums. He is patient, encourages so much, and shows excitement when she plays. She is already making big strides after only a couple lessons. She smiles ear to ear for days after her lessons and can't wait for the next. I can't say enough good things about Nathan! I am blessed to have him teaching my daughter! Thank you Nathan!!!!!

Mr. Ziehm is the best drummer I know and he is also amazing. Taking lessons from him is very relaxing and instructive and all I do is learn from him. I am 17 and have been in jazz band for 3 years and concert band for 8 and assisted me in both of them. He helps me out every year in improving my performance quality/techniques/accents/rhythms, he is just amazing what can I say. He can do it all. I can always count on him to improve me and make me feel like a pro even if I’m not!

I like to find out what goals they have for the instrument and just go from there. Most importantly, I want them to have fun!

I have a Bachelors in Music Performance and have taught high school and college level students.
