I have worked with Benton Young in a wide variety of musical circumstances. He has played trumpet for me on numerous occasions. He is always prepared and tackles each assignment with professionalism. Vocally, he has sung for me in a variety of occasions and I have sung with and for him too. Again, Benton approaches each experience with excellence and enthusiasm. In addition, Benton has a passion for training others. He has proven this not only in his own children who demonstrate superior musicianship, but in other students he has taught and mentored. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons at my house are $20.00 a 1/2 hour, $30.00 for 45 minutes and $40.00 an hour. If I travel to a students house or a Stonebriar Community church in Frisco, I add $10.00
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
having worked in music stores and visiting schools, i enjoy seeing the latest toys and gadgets and books that come out. Presently, I am doing some online training with Marketsource for HP computers and printers.Keeping up with the latest music apps can be a full-time job.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
All through middle and high school, I was in band and choir. I had a good ear and excelled in both areas. When it came time to choose what to do or where to go to college, I signed up for voice lessons from a Professor that had graduated from Houghton College in New York. If I had to do it over again, I would have found and searched for certain types of teachers. But, when I was in school there was no internet and volumes of knowledge posted online. You had to hope the teacher you were assigned in College was a good match.
