My granddaughter Olivia has been a student of Julie's since July 2013 she was six. Olivia looks forward to each class that she has because Julie is not only a good teacher, but she also makes Olivia feel confident by praising her accomplishments. It is not only amazing to me how much Olivia has learned but how quickly she has progressed in her lessons. Olivia loves to sing and seeing how well she has been doing with piano, I decided to put her in voice lessons with Julie as well. I do believe that Julie's knowledge, patience and encouragement has been the biggest influence to how well Olivia is doing. I am fortunate to have found a teacher like her to keep Olivia engaged and excited in something she loves to do.

Ms. Julie is wonderful! My daughter is really enjoying piano lessons with her. She has been flexible with our schedule, and is a very effective teacher.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My earliest memory was sitting and playing at the piano. Music has always been part of my life. I can't think of doing anything else.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask a lot of questions and make sure the teacher doesn't use shortcuts to teach music. All students need to learn to read music and not have note names or numbers written in for them. That's like teaching them to read by looking at the pictures.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

That it's not just a job. I consider it an enormous blessing and at the same time, an enormous responsibility to be the best teacher I can be for each student.
