Ken M. says, "I was thoroughly impressed with A. U. Plumbing and they will be my go to for all my plumbing needs. Andrew(owner), Marcos and Trey came out to replace my 10yr old 75 gallon water heater. I called on a Sunday and explained my water heater was not working and was leaking. That same Sunday, Andrew came out personally to asses the situation and make sure the leak was stopped from doing a further damage, assess what needed to be done and explained how it was going to be fixed and quoted me an extremely fair price for my repair. The team came out the very next day so we didn’t have to go another day without hot water. From start to finish I was impressed with the quality of work, professionalism of the team and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure their customer was taken care. As a consumer, there are a lot of plumbers to choose from and hands down you need to put A.U. plumbing at the top of your list to hire to do your plumbing work. I’ll keep using the team as long as they’ll have me as a customer. First of all they are on Thumtack stating it was s free estimate but i was charged $89. I called for a plumbing leak in wall in master bathroom at tub surround. I have the small white 4x4 tiles at tub surround and I just wanted the necessary tiled section taken down for the leak repair but they recommended that I tear down the entire Tubs surround , even though I do not want to do a remodel because it is a rental property and the rest of the tile is in good condition. I just needed the leak repaired and the old three handle valve to be changed into the modern one handle and Plumbing rerouted by 4 feet. And because they’re called problem solvers , I asked if they could give me a estimate to install two exhaust fans. One in each bathroom because the other ones had gone out. I received 3 estimates from Problem solvers. The first estimate was a outrageous, 13k plus To include tear down my tub surround even though I didn’t ask for a tear down, reroute plumbing at tub which repairs wall leak and change out 3 handle valve to a one handle valve as well as install new entire tub surround, also the installation of two exhaust fans. 13k would wipe out my income from this property by 85% The 2nd estimate he gave me was at about 8k which to me was not even worth looking at and the 3rd estimate still over 3k where i provide the hardware and no tile repair after plumbing repair. So it was an obvious NO on all estimates. Following day I was able to have a reasonable quote and I had the 2 exhaust fans/heaters installed for under $600 but i provided the exhaust fans/heaters .And the plumber i used to repair the in wall leak with PEX plumbing and he only removed the section of tile that needed to be taken off and he changed out the 3 handle valve and changed it into the One handle with a new shower riser (I provided the new Moen fixtures) was $1000. And the drywall and new tile material was another $600 So i was able to complete this project in my rental at just under $2900. NOT RETAIL AT 13k! Not to mention, I do i have a service warranty for their labor. I’ve been a landlady for 30 years and I have dealt with contractors for many years but I can honestly say this was ridiculous . I’m always willing to work with someone who can give fair prices and is not trying to pull the wool over my eyes. I’m not asking for freebie or cheap but reality just wanted a fair price.!
