Preston has taught me guitar lessons for about 5 months now. He is a great teacher! I had never picked up my guitar but wanted to learn and Preston made me feel comfortable about what to expect out of my guitar lessons. He caters to each individuals needs and is very passionate about teaching which was just what I needed. Thanks for being so great Preston! I lucked out having you as my teacher.
Pratland Music Adventures is awesome!!! I was so happy with my singing lessons. Super professional, and I learned a lot of things I didn't know!! I will keep working with them, and highly recommend them!!
I first met Mark through group guitar lessons through Davis Community Schools. I took his first and second group lessons. Since then I have been taking private lessons for almost two years now. Mark is an excellent guitar instructor. He adapts all my lessons to what I want to learn. He is patient, kind and encouraging. His favorite phrase is, "You are better today than you were yesterday!" I use to take lessons out of state for several years and never really learned anything. I never felt motivated to practice. In my two years with Mark, I have always desired to practice regularly and have made far more improvement in this short time than I ever did previously. If you are interested in lessons, or know someone who is, Mark is DEFINITELY your best choice! I have seen him work well with students of all ages. You can't go wrong with lessons from Mark DesLaurier!
Really positive and makes guitar lessons enjoyable. Cares about you making progress.
Micah is an amazing teacher! He's so knowledgable and passionate about playing and teaching guitar. He can play almost any style effortlessly and loves to shred. He is professional, makes learning fun, and cares that you improve your playing no matter how good or beginner you are. He takes the time to make sure you understand a concept before moving on to more material. He motivates and encourages you to keep playing even if you get frustrated or don't understand. I'd highly recommend taking lessons from this guy. I learned a lot in a short few months with him and look forward to learning more. You won't regret it.
Kevin is a first class musician who knows his trade and craft well, he is patient, encouraging, and methodically presents the lessons so I learn not only how to play guitar but the music theory behind as well. Too bad I had to leave Utah to return home after a few months of contract work otherwise I am sure I will continue to take lessons from this talented young man.
We just started lessons with Mrs. Clement and she is very good and we are pleased with her. We are looking forward to the association with her.
Devin is very good at teaching guitar. I have learned a lot from him in a short amount of time. He is very patient, and is always happy when he teaches lessons.
I like Steve. He has an overall great understanding of the guitar and I really like how he focuses on applying guitar theory. It's a slow and steady progression. Which is what I need.
Ryan is a great guitar teacher. He is always patient with me and very knowledgeable about music theory.
Nic is excellent to work with and really knows his stuff. You can tell he is really passionate about music.
Aaron is the most knowledgeable guitarist I know, and he is extremely patient. I highly recommend him
Fantastic! My daughter struggled finding a teacher she likes. Andrew is very patient and allows kids to work at their own pace. He helped my daughter with songwriting too!!
I LOVE music. I love teaching it, performing it, learning about it, learning about teaching it... I love it all. My enthusiasm is contagious, and students need to catch some enthusiasm! I hold my students to high standards, but I do it in a kind and encouraging way. I focus on building the complete musician... not just someone who can play a few songs. Music lessons with me don't just teach you to play the piano or bassoon. They teach you to understand what music is all about.
My lessons go far beyond just playing guitar. I include: Music theory, Singing, and overall performance techniques.Depending on the students wants and abilities. My goal is to guide my students towards their personalized music goals. Including at times piano and vocal lessons in tandem with the guitar. This varies of course by the needs of the student
Building self esteem, problem solving, achieve at a level above others. Students come away with structure and knowledge of music.
Hey, my name is Ian. I'm 23 years old; I live in Midway, Utah, and I've been a guitar teacher for the last 5 years. I'm currently a student at UVU and looking to expand my teaching pool. I have a very different teaching style in the way that I teach what you want to learn. Our first lesson will consist of you making a list of your favorite bands/songs and me teaching you based on that list. This way, we can progress your skills with the guitar, while always teaching what you would like to learn!
I'm a self-taught guitar player with some formal music theory training. I love playing the guitar and will always be a student of it myself. I love to pass on what I know to others.
I teach piano performance, technique, and theory, from primer level to advanced students. I do like my students to have basic reading skills as it makes learning to read music easier.
Lessons are tailored to the student's goals, including custom proportions of technique, song learning, and music theory. I can show you the way toward being an accomplished musician - whether you want to be in a band or just play for fun. I believe playing music is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. I am just recently getting my Thumbtack profile together, so more is to come. I have many years of experience playing and teaching. I have a great deal of success in getting students "unstuck" from their current level where they plateaued for a long time. For beginners, I can help you avoid long periods of being stuck from the git-go. I am a very patient teacher. I strive to find the balance between keeping it fun and doable, and at the same time providing encouragement for the challenge, at whatever rate each individual student can handle and likes. If you have goals for the guitar, I bet we can get there!
