I've been working with Jason at Modiv for about two months now and I've already lost 10 lbs. He's a very knowledgeable nutritionist that gives great tips and pointers as well as motivational check-in's throughout the week. I'd recommend Jason to anyone who wants to try and improve their overall health.

Ornela Bailey worked with me to come up with a personalized nutrition plan that was well suited to my lifestyle and goals. I’ve read a lot of nutrition and diet books so I feel like I’ve learned a lot, but everything I’ve tried always worked at first but then I couldn’t stick with it long enough to actually reach my goals for very long. I found Ornela and decided to give her a try as her first visit was free. She is very personable and easy to talk to! During our session I felt extremely comfortable talking to her about my weight and issues I’d been dealing with. She knows a lot about nutrition and she takes the time to actually get to know you so she can create a plan that is right for you. Her philosophy is to make changes slowly and in a way that will be sustainable for a new you. It is not easy, but she makes sure to maintain a connection with you to support and encourage you. It’s those little details that eventually make a big difference! She is an excellent resource and I will definitely be recommending her to anyone who wants to start doing the right things for their body.

Malinda is great as a nutritionist all around, but what she was especially good at was working with my individual life schedule, my strengths and my weaknesses in order to help me meet my goals. On her plan I lost almost 10% body fat and improved my 5k run time by five and a half minutes in twelve weeks! She'll make sure that this isn't just a crash diet for you, she'll teach you how to eat right, lose fat and stay healthy for the long run.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
