Over the last few years, we have supplemented various school subjects with tutoring through Sylvan, Zaniac, and Educational Advantage. In terms of math instruction, there is no comparison to the quality and depth of instruction that Pinyi has offered. He does not "skim" over topics or just help finish homework. Your child will have a solid understanding of every topic covered. If there are "gaps" that need attention or review, he will find them! While we have worked with many tutors, Pinyi has been the best by far. --J. Witt

I worked with Arafat last year. He was a wonderful mentor to my son both as an ACT prep tutor and as a college application counselor. He was punctual in reporting my son's progress back to me which I appreciate. I recommend him highly.

Great. She knows what she is teaching, and has the proper tools to do so.

As a Molecular Biology Major, minoring in Chemistry, I am extremely experienced and passionate about learning. I hope to help others see the beauty in the things that they might not quite understand.

I have a math education degree from BYU, and I taught one year at a public high school. I love to help people, and this is one of the reasons I chose to go into teaching. I feel like I can make a difference in my students' lives by making math accessible to them.

I am a native spanish speaker willing to tutor people of any ages in improving their conversational and written spanish. I am willing to travel 10 miles but if you prefer coming to my house or meeting up somewhere else, I am okay with that.

“When Love and Skill work together, expect a masterpiece.” John Ruskin

I love to teach math; it is the best subject in the world to teach. Most people hate math, but I can make it the funnest ever for you.

I tutor all ages in math, science, reading and writing. I am easygoing and very patient, and I can make you laugh when you get frustrated. I also think creatively to come up with ways to help you grasp the concept. I had one mother - who was an elementary teacher - call me a saint because of how I helped her 3rd-grade son. They were both nice, but she just couldn't get him to understand. I did! I'd love to help you, too.

My passion for mathematics sets me apart. Although I appreciate math's applications, I don't look at it as simply a tool for engineers. Math has a beauty in itself.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Utah State University in Elementary Education along with a level 3 math endorsement meaning I am qualified to teach all math levels up to Algebra 2. I am also in Grad school right now working towards my masters of education in Secondary Education. I am currently a middle school teacher with four years of experience. I have experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 to grades 6-9. I am located in North Salt Lake and am conducting tutoring sessions in the evening. To avoid scheduling conflicts, I am currently requesting that sessions be held in a centralized, public location. Schedule permitting, I would be willing to travel for tutoring sessions. I am available for short-term or long-term tutoring. However, I feel that long-term tutoring is most effective because this allows me to fully assess the needs of the students I am working with. This also allows me to better solidify concepts and help with questions as they arise.

As a teacher, it's my job to enable every student to achieve his or her full potential. Every student is different; some students need a small boost, while others need to build from the ground up. I'm very patient and thorough, and I identify and improve areas of weakness while building relationships and making learning fun. I tutor in a wide range of subject areas, but my specialties are Math, Physics, and Study Skills. Many people underestimate the value of teaching study skills; I see many students who have become discouraged because they work hard but lack time management and organizational skills. With a little bit of guidance, these students can see their hard work finally begin to pay off. Whatever your situation may be, I'm here to help. In my experience as a tutor, I've seen some amazing outcomes. I have experience teaching all levels of math, science, study skills, and standardized testing at the college, high school, middle school, and elementary school levels. I'm a certified instructor at Sylvan Learning Center, where I worked for a year in Boston. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Mathematics minor from the University of Massachusetts. I graduated from the honors college at UMass with top Latin honors (Summa Cum Laude) and a 3.83 GPA. I'm now attending the University of Utah to get my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. My math and science students greatly appreciate that I have a practical understanding of how to apply these concepts to research and design, and they enjoy when I'm able to give real-world examples and applications.

I can help you with my following qualities: * Love working with children * Patient and Communicative * Willing to help with homework as well as new concepts * Willing to help students reach their goals

I am a secondary math teacher and tutor. I love working with students one-on-one to help them gain the confidence and abilities to succeed.

I earned a 30 on the ACT and have taken AP Calculus, AP World History and AP Chemistry and passed all tests. I have tutoring experience at school and love to teach and work with any age. I love English, Math and Science and have a quick memory to aid with memorization. I utilize the same techniques with my clients as I did with my own education and I have a positive, patient and encouraging attitude.

I worked as a math tutor at Weber State University for about 2 years. I am CRLA master tutor (level 3) certified. I taught math 990, 1010, 1050 and higher ones. I have the ability to teach my tutees and make them enjoy and understand math. I try to break the problems into small steps for better understanding and try to give practical examples wherever possible. I also provide tips on how to prepare for tests. My qualifications include MBA, post graduation in healthcare and pharmaceutical management and bachelor of science.

How do you find a good math tutor?

Math home tutors are available for any age student, from elementary school to postgraduate studies. Rates will vary based on the tutor’s background, education and experience. To find a good math tutor, first determine your learning goals. Do you need help understanding and completing homework assignments? Are you preparing for the math portion of a standardized test? Next, read reviews from current and former students. Find someone with proven success helping students achieve their goals. If you want help on an ongoing basis, decide what your budget is and identify the tutors who fall within your range. Ask if there are additional fees for travel, as some home math tutors include travel costs in their rates and others charge extra. Ask about session length and the tutor’s teaching style, and whether they also offer online sessions or group sessions. Finally, schedule a single session with each of the math tutors you think are best to see who is the best fit.
