I just wanted to say thank you to Kuya Marco Mercado and ante Regina Mercado for putting an effort and hard work they put in together especially I liked how they decorated the venue. That was the most memorable day of my life and that was the night to remember of me turning 18. My experience was that I had a good time with my family and friends and everyone was enjoying the party. I recommend you that, if you have an occasional day, party, wedding day, etc. I suggest you to ask this two people that did an amazing party planner for my 18th birthday debut, that would be ante Regina Mercado and Kuya Marco Mercado. Honestly you will love it as I did. They are amazing people, too. I really do appreciated of what they've done to my 18th birthday debut. The services did an amazing job everyone loved the food. I also wanted to say thank you to Kuya Marco Mercado for hosting and DJ as well.

So much of traditional wedding planning is in the trust and keeping of the Bride, sometimes instilled over the course of a lifetime. When planning my wedding with my husband-to-be, none of that training or information had really came to either of us. The task of shaping the event we envisioned was overwhelming! Angie helped scale the perspective and lead us to the resources we needed to get started. When the time came to make decisions she offered advice without taking away choices and only intervened if I was flailing. It was a great boon to the eventual success of our big day!

Brown Brothers Catering has catered several of our family's events: 50th birthday celebration for my Aunt, my sister's wedding, and even a concert we put on for our community. Whatever the event, they can handle it. I also run a videography company and have been to several events, mostly weddings, as the videographer and have seen Brown Brothers Catering over deliver time and time again. Whether it's corporate clients or friends and family, Brown Brothers Catering is THE catering company I recommend every single time.

Kayla has been a pure joy to work with! She is extremely reliable with event planning and meeting deadlines. Kayla is stellar under pressure and nothing seems to phase her. She is flexible and always able to quickly adapt to whatever the event requires. Working with Kayla at numerous events, I have always been impressed to watch her on-site. She is so professional and calm when dealing with the venue, a myriad of vendors, employees, or event guests. She sees the big picture while also having a pulse on every detail.

These two were absolutely amazing, from the first moment we talked to them to the very last hugs, I couldn't have imagined better day-of coordinators for our wedding. We put a lot on their plate on the day of and they delivered so well! We had our ceremony in Big Cottonwood Canyon and our reception in Salt Lake. We needed them to direct the ceremony, set up ALL of the decor at the reception center and be the go-to contacts for all of the vendors and they were absolutely amazing. The set up at both locations was perfect, the way they decorated the reception center was AMAZING and they are both so bubbly and fun to have around. Both are so easy to get along with and so willing to do whatever it takes to make the event perfect in your eyes. It was such a pleasure working with Bethany and Kathy and I recommend them 110% for any and all events and will definitely think of them in the future if we need any event coordinators.

Reverend Joe was wonderful for my son's wedding. He made sure that we received the ceremony that the kids wanted. Rev. Joe had never done the sand ceremony my kids wanted, but he did his homework and did an exceptional job. They also wanted my son's little daughter to be included and he did. It was a superb wedding and not a dry eye in the audience. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE REVEREND JOE! Thank you Rev.Joe.

I loved working with Emily on my daughters wedding! Emily had honest advise that gave us good direction as we planned her wedding day and reception that evening. She was so organized and enthusiastic throughout the months of planning and was always willing to help us work through any unexpected events. She also had great recommendations for other professionals such as table and chairs, caterers, even chalkboard artists. This was the first wedding we have had to plan in our family and having Emily as our wedding planner really helped make my daughters wedding special and stress free!! Thank you Emily for helping us through the process!!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How much does it cost for a wedding planner?

Wedding planning is a full-time job — unless you hire a professional to handle the hard work for you. The cost for a wedding planner will depend on the level of service you desire. The least expensive wedding planner option is day-of coordination, then partial service, then full-service.

The national average cost for wedding planning is between $990 and $1,300. Costs are greatly affected by region, with rural or smaller-town wedding planners often far more affordable than planners in higher-cost cities. Here are some examples of the various levels of wedding planning and their potential average costs:

    • Day-of-wedding coordination: $800-$1,700. Day-of services can include the planner finalizing all details, creating a timeline, confirming vendors and overseeing all setup, day-of activities, and cleanup. The couple does all the front-end planning and contracts all the vendors. Time commitment could be about 15-25 hours, depending on pricing.
    • Partial service: $1,500-$3,800. Here the planner works with the couple from the beginning, helping contract vendors, creating a timeline, and overseeing all details of day-of execution. Time commitment could be about 30-60 hours, depending on package and pricing.
    • Full service: $3,500-$8,000 or more. Here the professional handles all wedding and planning details including working on design, securing rentals, getting the venue and vendors, and handling complete execution of the event. Time commitment could be 50-150 hours or more, depending on package and pricing.
    • Consulting: $50-$150 per hour for design, vendor, reception and other wedding planning consultation.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
