“We learned about gratitude and humility - that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean... and we were taught to value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect.” Michelle Obama
“The value of life is not in its duration, but in its donation. You are not important because of how long you live, you are important because of how effective you live.” Myles Munroe
The definition of “Counselor” … a person trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems. As the purpose of these words are in recommendation of Life Bridge Coaching, which is nothing short of extraordinary. However, I would be doing both me and Life Bridge Coaching a disservice. As, Life Bridge Coaching, is more than a Bridge in my life, more than astonishing words of advice, yet true inspiration. The encouragement to make you see life in vivid colors again.
The first two words said to me was, “You Matter”. It had been so long, so many years, months and seemingly decades since I felt anything that equated to the power these words meant.
We all have unforgettable moments in our lives, of joy and pain. But this day, hearing those words “You Matter” was my day of rebirth.
Fear and loneliness, would no longer consumed me. Illustrating the complexity of personal growth and success, is intense, yet a necessary beauty in life. The feelings emanating through my body has been both excruciating and that of rejuvenating life. It took being heard, not undermined; being celebrated and not dreaded; being invited and not shunned.
Triumph in Tragedy…Tragedy, is no longer a conflict between right and wrong, yet between two diverse kinds of right. Through Life Bridge Coaching, I regained, a taste of success, a taste of what it is to be respected and a firsthand view of chivalry.
As far as chivalry, the age of brute strength is in many ways past, and that would be the end of the argument if we were at the same time seeing a corresponding increase in other, less tangible, kinds of strength: like moral courage, fortitude, leadership, and a willingness to sacrifice. But we’re not. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact. Most men today aren’t just physically weaker than previous generations. They’re weaker as people: guys stricken with “Peter Pan syndrome” never leaving adolescence; “safe spaces” on college campuses protecting perpetually fragile constant-victims from serious debate; the hookup culture and porn addiction replacing chivalry; and the sexual revolution promulgating through media, education, and now law that there’s no such thing as male and female. What we’re seeing isn’t a different expression of masculinity adapting to new cultural realities. What we’re seeing is no masculinity at all.
Real masculinity can look like that guy who has a body weight that hasn’t changed since the 8th grade, tweed jacket and Harry Potter glasses, champion of sound theology and education in a city that’s hostile to both, he’s one of the strongest men existing.
Or masculinity may look like Irenaeus, “The glory of God is man fully alive.” And man, fully alive doesn’t play the victim, or wallow in a sense of entitlement. He embraces the creation mandate to “fill the earth and subdue it.” He’s a maker, not a perpetual taker.
It’s this kind of masculinity that’s in desperately short supply these days. It’s a kind that has nothing to do with how much you can bench press yet how strong you are to lift and inspire. John and Dietra, Life Bridge Coaching, are the strongest people, I have been blessed to know in so very long. Thank You!
I have had heartache and tragedy in my life, as I wake up to it and close my eyes to it. These are unavoidable aspects of life. Suffering is the price of being alive. Infuse your life with positivity and accomplishment. Don't stay complacent. Make your dreams, your reality. Move Forward. Design your own future. Create your own hope. Cultivate love. And whatever your principles, honor your creator, not submissively, waiting for grace to arrive, but by design of your own destiny…not tomorrow but right now.
A lady like no other, gave me life, cultivation, refinement, edification, ambition, determination, temperateness, edification, discipline, and most importantly admiration and love, without restrictions or reserve. However, anxiety scorched my soul and made me reconsider everything I ever believed. This tragedy motivated me to put my life under a microscope and extract the poisonous aspect of my personality. Subsequently, I only look for the beauty in life. The change began out of sadness and fear, however, putting good out into the world would mend the catastrophic hole of the unknown. In this miraculous light bulb moment, my tragedy, made me beautiful.
Thank You for being here for me when I had no other! Giving of yourself without notice of time when I wanted to give up. Wiping my tears of hurt and pain, maliciously inflicted by the man I took an oath to, and reminding me of my worth that is challenged daily.
I recommendation and Thanks, Chevera!
