We hired Lara to help us and our almost 4 year old dog. After we brought our first human baby home it was clear we needed assistance to work on some of our fur baby's behavioral issues including jumping on guests, wanting to be all over everyone, and leash walking, to name a few. Lara was great with early communication and suggested our dog had boundary and impulse control issues. She is super knowledgeable and was very accommodating to our situation with a new baby and we were able to get a lot out of each session. She helped us understand our dog better and worked with us on the above mentioned issues and more. We've seen a lot of progress and feel Lara gave us the tools to continue to work with her and make her an even better dog. Highly recommend For Pup's Sake!

About

A dog can be a great experience or a dog can be a disaster. As an owner, you must be willing to invest the time and resources your dog wants and needs in order to communicate your expectations. With that said, I want to take time to let you know how exceptional Mr. Haywood Perry's Academy Dog Training is. When we brought home our Rottweiler, my wife and I knew that we had our hands full. From the beginning, Haywood understood what I was looking for both in a dog and a trainer and he did not disappoint. What I like best about Academy Dog Training is Haywood's knowledge and tailored service. Not only did he have answers to our problems and suggestions for our issues, but he also was able to provide custom solutions that fit our home. We opted to do the day-care training and it was really the best thing for our family. My wife can now walk my growing puppy without me and the dog weighs more than she does! He is calm, patient, and attentive to us (his handlers). There are plenty of options for dog training in the area, but DO NOT BE FOOLED. Every dog is different and you NEED to take a tailored approach. Without question, I would recommend you invest in your dog and that you do so with Academy Dog Training. I would be more than happy to recommend Haywood's service and can be reached at (313) 528-9443 if you have any questions. ~Sherman Taylor

About

The OLK9 crew has given us a whole new perspective on dog training and obedience. We went to OLK9 with the goal of having our APBT "Casino" stop pulling on leash during walks and to stop mild dog aggression. At first we were hesitant with using an e-collar for training, but Garry was able to address all of our concerns during our first lesson and made us feel at ease with the training regimen. One month and 2 lessons later, and we couldn't be more impressed with the results we've seen so far. Our training has given us and Casino more confidence not only on leash, but we are now comfortable walking him off leash even with distractions. We have two basic classes left and have already registered for our advanced lessons. Nick comes highly recommended and responds quickly to any questions you may have regarding training or the e-collar. We've already recommended other family members to enroll in the program and look forward to the continued confidence gained from training. Our only regret is not starting our training sooner...

Jennifer was very nice and helped me a lot with my little rascal. She sends email tips/reminders and is flexible with schedule. It was a little overwhelming on the first day of class but me and my dog were able to adjust thru her help and my dog has improved a lot since then.

Christine has been friendly, personable, and very knowledgable from the start. I was very impressed with her passion for dog training from the very first conversation I had with her. We spoke on the phone for almost an hour about the issues My 1YO boxer had and she even tried to provide assistance to me over the phone before I commited to any training sessions. Christine definitely knows how to respond to your problem dog, and I saw improvements in the first session, the key is maintaining the training that Christine teaches you. I'm so happy I chose her as my trainer!

About

I provide one-on-one in-home dog obedience training for you and your pup or adult dog in the Reston/Herndon/Great Falls/Ashburn area. I have been competing in dog obedience for over 20 years and I also compete in field (hunting) and agility. Puppies are cute, but they can be trying. Let me help you and your dog get started off on the right paw with basic obedience, learning proper manners, and address some behavioral issues. Crate training, housebreaking, counter surfing, jumping, puppy biting and other behavioral problems will be addressed. Teach your dog good habits from an early age so he can become a welcome member of your family. I specialize in training puppies and have taught dog obedience for Dulles Gateway Dog Training Club as well as Fairfax County Parks and Recreation. I currently do not work with aggressive dogs. Train with a buddy. Lessons can be customized upon request to achieve your personal goals. Check out our website for additional information.

Are you feeling guilty that you're out and about, while they're stuck at home with nobody to talk to? Do you worry when you need to take a trip that no one will take good care of your pooch? Your dog will romp and play with other day-care dogs during the day, then cuddle up with pack mates for a night of rest, peace and serenity. I have 3 large dogs and Daniel, with LK9, has been the perfect solution for my rambunctious pack! He's helped me establish a feeding schedule, get all 3 pups to wait for my command to eat, walk on leashes like angels, and all allow people in my house w/ out being accosted by 3 large dogs. I truly would have been lost and my dogs out of control w/ out Daniel's help. He has been a Godsend. He is knowledgeable about dogs, patient, and had great ideas that I never even considered that have been helped coral my pups. I highly recommend Daniel & LK9!

About

Let me show you your new home. For many people, a Doberman Pincher conjures up images of an intimidating and often ferocious watchdog, but for Anna Vidal, these dogs hold a special place in her heart. Since 2003, this animal lover has acted as a foster “parent” for dozens of sick and neglected Dobermans. After rescuing them from the local kennel or humane society, Anna goes to great lengths to nurse these fragile dogs back to health. Whether it’s cooking a special meal with care or taking them to the dog park to learn how to better interact with people, Anna’s devotion to rehabilitating these creatures speaks volumes about her nurturing nature. A Great Companion You might be wondering, of all the types of dogs out there, why Dobermans? Perhaps because of their unfair reputation, Anna feels people are not aware how wonderful and loving Dobermans can be, which is why Anna is passionate not only about rehabilitating and training these dogs, but also about educating potential owners. She enjoys nurturing the relationship between the owner and their dog, so the relationship is a positive one. Creature Comforts Born and raised in Poland, Anna has always been an animal lover at heart. Growing up on her grandparents’ farm, Anna earned the nickname “dog keeper” from all the strays she would bring home. From the tiniest spider to the largest ox, Anna feels it is her responsibility to protect and care for all creatures. From her work with Dobermans to her prior career as a professional au pair, this local businesswoman enjoys caring for others. However, when it comes to taking time for herself, Anna lets spontaneity lead the way. She loves going white water rafting, kayaking or exploring new destinations at her whim. A Natural Instinct Given the way Anna cares for her dogs, it’s clear to see how her instinct to nurture comes naturally. Fittingly, as a respected real estate professional, she’s found her calling by nurturing the dreams and goals of her clients to help them succeed. Putting their best interests first, Anna uses her caring technique and insightful market analysis to help people in Northern Virginia make the right decision for their future. Nurturing Your Success Whether they’re buying or selling, Anna handles her clients’ needs with great care. She does her research and carefully compiles the pertinent information that’s key to their move. From previewing properties to find a perfect match to marketing homes for greater exposure and ultimately a higher return, Anna puts her heart and soul into ensuring a positive outcome for her clients. If you’re thinking about buying or selling a home in the Northern Virginia area, put your needs and goals in the hands of a caring professional like Anna Vidal. With experience and compassion, Anna is nurturing your success in local real estate. Be sure to give her a call before your next move.

i have 2 boxers, one female (age 2) and one male (age 3). would like basic obedience and leash walking for both. "come" seems to be a problem when they are distracted by other things (dogs, people, smells) and pulling on the leash is a problem. walking both together is quite challenging. the female will probably get into agility competition as soon as i can get her trained well enough and the male is much more suited for therapy work. both will need cgc certification.
