Robert has been great!! I've used him twice so far. He always responds in good time and shows up when he says. He has a great price as well. Super friendly and honest. Very nice person. 1st time, we had mice in the kitchen. Instantly solved the problem and explained and showed me how they were getting in the house. 2nd time, was for the house ants. Spring has sprung and so have they! He came and treated the nests. They are gone!! I'll be using him for all my exterminator needs!

I requested this service as a preventive measure because I had visited a home that I found out had bedbugs. Dave came out and completed his inspection. He was honest and informed me that he didn’t find anything. So HONESTY is the first stellar trait of C&D Pest Management. He was PUCTUAL, even arriving a little early for our appointment, which pleased me tremendously! He was METICULOUS conducting his inspection, performing every test that Google said a good exterminator would. I wanted him to complete the treatment even though he didn’t find anything, just for my peace of mind, and Before he began his work he was INFORMATIVE. He told me everything he was going to do, and let me know what I should do after his visit. He was an EXPERT in completing the treatment, and did even more than was initially discussed for the exact same price! He was ACCOUNTABLE for his results. He informed me that any necessary follow up visits within a reasonable period of time would be at no cost. And finally, one of the most important elements of a superior service provider... He was KIND, THOUGHTFUL, PERSONABLE, AND PROFESSIONAL. It was a true pleasure conversing with him about his profession and current events. This man sincerely cares about his customers, and it shows. And to top all that off, he was THE BEST VALUE BY FAR!!! I received 6 bids for my job asking exorbitant fees. C&D Pest Management offered the best value AND extraordinary customer service. I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND C&D PEST MANAGEMENT for all of your extermination needs.

Les is amazing. He is by far one of the most knowledgeable and efficient extermination professional ever. Things that our HOA and other exterminators overlooked he not only noticed and corrected for us, but provided us with an inspection report to file with our HOA. He is dependable and his customer service is fabulous. Another extermination company was going to treat my house for fleas and up charge us. When Les came he looked over the whole property and said he didn't see one flea and that we didn't need it. We will be using him from now on and I will refer him to everyone I know.

This is the first time using this company, and I am so impressed! The level of responsiveness, punctuality, the description of the problem and then giving me a complete work plan (Beyond Impressed) The last exterminator I used did not do a quarter of what Bobby and his team did and the fact that he warranties his work on the outside and planned follow up assessment and review of the problem. I hate having to deal with pest removal but so glad I found a company that I feel confident in the work completed and that they will do the follow up per the work plan. So Grateful for the help!

The technician arrived in the window they said and he was efficient and explained everything well. He sprayed both the interior and the exterior of the house with efficiency and was a nice guy with personality. He explained everything and I was able to get on to work on time. It has only been a day, but I have seen no pests since he sprayed. I am pleased with the service.

We hired Frontline to do an initial service when we bought our new home. Since then, we have continued to use Frontline as our pest professionals because they provide quality service. Team members are quick to arrive and they stand behind their work. Would strongly recommend for anyone looking for an inexpensive and high quality exterminator.

I contacted Joe about a bee issue and he made himself available the very next day, he also made arrangements based on my schedule. He treated my bee issue as well as sprayed around the entire house as a precaution for other insects/bugs. He was very nice and on time. His prices will beat any other exterminator service and the quality of his work is better. Last year I used Orkin for an issue and Joe by far was better than them. I would definitely reccomend him! Thanks Joe!

Very professional, flexible scheduling, went out of his way to schedule (and reschedule) to meet my needs. Explained the service, what products were being used, and addressed my safety concerns regarding both my pets and my family. I've been having a devil of a time ridding the house of a flea infestation, never had such a problem in years of pet ownership and being a rescue foster. Still awaiting treatment of the yard and follow up service, but so far, no signs of those nasty little beasts! Even the dogs are relieved, Thank You Bradford Pest Control. I would definitely recommend!

VA Widelife and Mr. Kenneth Rand showed up early and went right to work. He discovered that I had a raccoon problem and setup traps to catch them. Over the course of a couple of days, Kenneth captured five (5) raccoons!!! Even better, VA Animal Control was cheaper than the other estimate I had. I recommended him to my neighbor who had bats in his attic. Great Job VA Wildlife.

Kolley’s is the BEST! A family owned business and a great value! How often do you get a quick response, great service and excellent follow up from a company—all at a terrific price? I had another exterminator (who was more expensive) come to remove a yellow jacket nest. Turns out he did not do a thorough job. We still had yellow jackets and we were expecting guests with a 16 month old toddler to visit for several days. I spoke to Gene and he was fantastic! He added us to his busy schedule before a holiday weekend. He spent a lot of time inspecting the exterior of our house and found another huge nest we were unaware of. He treated and removed it, told me what to expect over the next few days and said to expect I’d need follow up treatment — at NO additional charge. He even gave me his cell phone, knowing I was worried about the toddler going outside. There was a 90% reduction after the first treatment. I called and told him there were a few remaining and he came out the same day. AND he gave me a 2 month guarantee if I see any more yellow jackets. Gene is friendly and knowledgeable, I couldn’t be more impressed! Great service, great value!!!

Showed up early, listened to us, and did an excellent job. They were more than fair about price and it was competitive to what Amazon had offered. Greatly appreciated them pointing out other things we hadn't noticed about our home. We hope to do more business with them in the future!

Kevin was the best, in every way. I talked to many others, including a big pest control company, but he was 10 times better all around. He always got back to me fast with a text or call. He gave me advice on using home techniques - like a "heater box" which we got from Walmart, not expensive, to heat items including pretty big items in it to kill bugs and eggs. He did an amazingly thorough job of inspecting the day he came for an assessment - looking carefully at every single bed. On the day, he was on time and steam-cleaned the key areas and put down two kinds of eco friendly spray treatment, and we have a 90 day guarantee and he can come reinspect during that time, to update us on the process. He is even going to have a bed-bug smelling dog - amazing! It was a huge relief to get this problem solved. Highly recommended. You will realize once you meet him that he's trustworthy and the best.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

How do you get rid of termites?

The best way to get rid of termites is to act fast. Termites are a problem that will only get worse — and no matter how much you want them to, they usually don’t magically move out on their own. There are three main types of termites: drywood, dampwood and subterranean. Drywood and dampwood termites sneak through cracks in your exterior paint, nail holes, and gaps near windows and other openings and begin to eat through your wood. Subterranean termites enter your house from the ground up by creating mud tunnels. In all cases, they survive by eating the wood of your house. The type of termites you have can steer the treatment plan.

Methods of termite extermination include fumigation, use of pesticides, and use of natural elements that are poisonous to the bugs. The extent of your termite infestation will help determine the treatment method. If you have drywood or dampwood termites that have infiltrated all aspects of the wood in your home, the pest control pro may recommend enclosing the whole house in a tent and gassing the termites via fumigation. If you have subterranean termites, often the entire footprint of the home must be treated by drilling liquid treatments into the slab or foundation of the home to exterminate the colonies. In any case, once you see signs of termites, it’s time to take action and call a pest pro.

What are the signs of termites in your home?

When you see signs of termites in your home, call a trusted pest control professional as soon as possible to handle the situation. Termites feed on wood, meaning they eat through the wood that makes up the frame, floors and other components of your house. Most people don’t know they have termites until they discover the damage done, because termites remain hidden underground or inside the wood they are eating. Keep on the lookout for these signs of termites:

  • Water bubbles in your interior or exterior paint: If you poke at what look like paint bubbles and find termite droppings inside, it’s a sign of termite infestation.
  • Frass: This is a fancy term for termite poop. Keep your eyes peeled for what look like six-sided salt and pepper droppings.
  • Mud tubes: Subterranean termites move between their earth home and your house by building mud tunnels. Mud tubes under or along the side of your house or foundation are a sure sign of a termite infestation.
  • Wings or swarming near your home: As a new colony is looking for a home, they fly (swarm), then shed their wings and burrow into nearby wood.
  • Softening of wood or hollowed-out wood: Termites don’t like paint, lacquer varnish or other wood finishes, so they’ll eat inside the wood and leave the exterior finish like a shell.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.
