My 11 year old son decided he wanted to be a rock star...thus began our search for the perfect guitar teacher. The requirements (according to my son) were: he must be COOL. Enter Rob - coolness personified! Oh, and did I mention that in just a few lessons, my son was not only playing his guitar more often, he was confident about experimenting on his own, and came out of the music room absolutely BEAMING after every lesson. I know that he could not be happier - and therefore I am happy. Rob is a talented professional, with lots of real world experience to share (great stories!), and a terrific teacher on top of all that. LOVE Bay 1 Studios - the location is great, the lesson rooms are great - in fact, this summer I think we are going to add bass lessons too. We couldn't be happier! AND...my daughter is taking piano at Bay 1, and ALSO loves loves loves her teacher - who is now giving my son violin lessons...see a pattern?? If you have interest in an instrument, I'll bet Rob can hook you up with a teacher! :)
I have two homeschool children that I wanted to provide music lessons for. Seth came highly recommended by the local music store. I've shopped around for other instructors and this is the first time I've signed them up. I like his philosophy of instruction, in that he teaches individually, but encourages practicing regularly with others. He has been available outside the lesson time to answer questions and has been putting a system in place for a group forum to exchange thoughts and ideas. I like his community mindedness for the arts.
My daughters have taken piano and guitar lessons from Laura at Bella River Music, and we were very pleased with the progress they made. Laura's love of music is infectious, and it is evident in the way she instructs her students. Laura gave the girls both challenging and fun pieces to learn, and often sang along with them as they played. She is reliable, knowledgeable, and generous--a delightful combination!
Her knowledge was very apparent by the way she taught each class. Very patient and enthusiastic. She really knows how to break lessons apart to make it easier for the students to put everything together.
Jim is a very down to earth person who makes you feel comfortable right of the bat, I learned two new things during the first lesson. I look forward to learning more
VMA has provided my children Private guitar lessons, drum lessons and Musikgarten. Their rates are less than other music stores and teachers in the area that I've found. The teachers really care about the students and go above to help their students. The concerts and recitals they put on are great too.
I have only had an initial meeting but happy with choice
I took lessons on my acoustic, electric and bass gutar's With Rob and found him to be a very capable teacher and would recommend him for what ever level of one's expertise that is required. His knowledge of music is outstanding.
Trevor is so excited about music, and it's contagious! He made the learning process even more fun by asking me what I wanted to work on, and his sense of humor keeps things light and not at all intimidating. I could tell that he prepared ahead of time and took our lessons very seriously. He made me a folder and provided notes at the beginning of each lesson. I have really enjoyed working with Trevor and recommend him highly.
I provide guitar lessons for $45 for 50 minutes or $25 for 30 minutes. Music theory is the basis of the guitar lessons. This will help in the future when learning new and unfamiliar songs.
I get students motivated to learn by making the lessons fun. When you have fun, you are apt to learn faster.

I have been teaching music full- or part-time my whole career, and I can teach all agesfrom six years old to sixty-six. I've played in a lot of local bands, classic rock and country.

My music comes from my soul. In performances I communicate fully with expression and intent all the music. As a guitar teacher, I help students find and achieve their best potential, encouraging to be themselves. I also emphasize mindful practice and performance; that is, being aware of each moment and each thought so that we can be better performers.
I'm familiar with working with new musicians. I've taught several people their first chords on the guitar. And being a father, I'm great with kids.
I offer to travel anywhere you are comfortable with both acoustic and electric lessons. I also off free video help after each lessons so you may always fresh up on what you learned. Even a one night show with the band.
I have over 35 years' teaching experience and a background in many styles of music including jazz, blues, rock, country, classical and music theory. My teaching style is tapered to the individual student. It's never too late to pick up a guitar and start learning. The most traditional and effective way to learn any musical instrument is through private lessons. My private lessons give students the chance to experience one-on-one guitar instruction. I taper my lessons to fit your learning style and to help you meet your musical goals. I can start you from the very beginning or build on what you have already learned. You can find me in the Waynesboro, VA white pages.
I have played guitar for over eight years and learned a great deal from many worship leaders and such. If you would love to learn how to play guitar and also have a worship style added to it, I can surely get you there in no time. Practice makes perfect.
I teach beginning and intermediate guitar in and around the Charlottesville, VA area. My focus is on teaching students the fundamentals of music in general and guitar specifically, and once they have a handle on those, I gear our "curriculum" towards music they enjoy playing.
I do music lessons of all kinds, from clarinet to theory and history. I will teach beginners as well as advance. All are welcome.
