"I have difficulty learning and am easily distracted and frustrated. So more than most, the teacher matters. On that note, I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful a piano and music instructor, and what’s more, what a wonderful person Mary is. She’s patient, positive, and encouraging. She sees you without judgement and nurtures your talent while creating a safe space for the student to make mistakes and not feel guilty. She not only makes music fun, she makes LEARNING a rewarding journey of self-improvement. I’m almost thirty years old and I’ll be the first to say you’re never too old (or young!) to learn what you love. Mary truly helps her students discover music with her profound understanding of the subject, extraordinary sense of fun and adventure, and compassion. You couldn’t ask for a better instructor and as soon as you meet Mary, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about."

"What music excites you? What pieces would you enjoy learning? People learn best when they’re learning a piece that they really like. I do my best to find pieces that my students enjoy learning and are excited to play at a recital. My teaching blends this with learning the basics of note reading and technique. These are essential for any piano student. I teach at Click Music in Oak Harbor. My students range from ages four to 70. I welcome beginners and those who have studied previously. My students play in recitals at Click Music two to three times a year. They love these opportunities to play for an audience and share their enthusiasm for the piano and for music."
