Janet is extremely professional and warm. Voice lessons can be very personal, and Janet achieves the balance between guidance and connecting with you as a person and a musician. I had been singing for about ten years when I worked with her, and was looking to improve on my technique, so finding a voice teacher who could teach adults with experience was imperative to me. I enjoyed my lessons with her and continue to use several of the warm-ups and vocal drills that I learned while working with her.

We unfortunately only attended one of Bryan's drum lessons .(only because my four year old wouldn't practice). Bryan was great! He even had on Aladdin, upon us arriving which made my daughter extra comfortable. It was a great ice breaker for them to talk about. I would absolutely recommend Bryan to anyone needing drum lessons ages kids to adult.

Scott has an incredible ability to tap into his student's skill-set and transform them entirely. With his vast and vibrant musical background in vocal performance, composition, recording, and production in various genres of music, he provides an extensive and dynamic experience for his students. Scott also has a deep understanding of proper vocal health and such knowledge extends to the techniques and exercises in which he conducts in his lessons. He can take voices in several directions, stretching students' abilities to new lengths. Scott is truly one of a kind and his lessons extend well past vocal training, into situations that apply to everyday life. Scott has been pivotal in shaping my musicianship and musical identity and I strongly recommend his vocal training lessons.

Friendly and knowledgable, Larry was my piano teacher for over 5 years, but together we dabbled in voice, sax, guitar, and even a bit of drums. He tailored lessons to exactly what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it. He can stick to the standard lesson plans, or adapt them to exactly what you want to learn. He's a good guy and a good teacher who gave me all the foundations to be confident in just about every aspect of music.

I went to Makala for a beginners voice lesson to prepare for singing at my friend's wedding next month. I was very impressed with her skill level and teaching ability. She was personal, yet professional, and I really learned a lot in an hour. I would highly recommend Makala!!

I've been taking voice lessons with Christine for a few months now, and it's been an amazing experience. I'm a total and absolute beginner, but Christine knows perfectly well how to teach beginners (or people at any level for that matter, since she has a degree in music education). In a few months we've already seen noticeable improvement in my voice. Christine's been helping me develop the correct vocal technique right from the beginning, so that I don't develop bad habits that are difficult to correct later. She is also an outstanding teacher - she immediately notices/hears my mistakes, no matter how subtle, and corrects me right away. Or if she notices me getting tired, she stops the lesson right away, even if I don't notice it myself. These are very important things for a beginner in my opinion. She also shows me many tricks (both physical and psychological) that I can use to make my voice do the right thing. And she has a variety of exercises that help with different aspects of developing your voice. Finally, she's a great person to work with - very cool-minded, always smiling/laughing/joking, never yells or gets angry, calmly moves on to something else if one thing doesn't work, and has the rare and wonderful ability to point out mistakes without making you feel bad. She is also a very good listener - always willing to answer my questions/comments. At a personal level, she's a fun and interesting person to get to know, and talk to. I think everybody can benefit from voice lessons, even if you think you're no good at singing. And I think Christine is perfect for the job. I highly recommend her!

My 6 year old daughter takes private piano and singing lessons from Katie and we have had the best experience! She is so sweet, kind and patient. Plus extremely talented. My daughter is already playing the piano with 2 hands and singing up a storm. I would highly recommend Katie and actually have already referred her to my other friends!

My experience with Merlyn's Music Studio was absolutely amazing. Merlyn Ahern is a jewel, and hands down the best music instructor that I've ever trained with. She has an impeccable ear for music, and she never fails to bring out the best in each of her students. I couldn't have imagined training with anyone other than her to prepare myself for my performance in the 2015 Miss Black USA Scholorship Pageant. Not only did I receive a standing ovation from the audience for my talent performance, I also received a score of 136 out of 140 from the judges!!! I couldn't have done it without her. She is the BEST!!! -De'Vaughnn Williams, Miss. Black Washington USA 2015 & 2016.

She is positive, patient and extremely proficient at her craft. Through Kathy's teaching methods, I was finally able to site read and harmonize and conquer my biggest fear...auditioning! I have always felt Kathy was not only my teacher/coach, but also my personal cheerleader who gave me the confidence to find my voice. I cannot recommend her highly enough." A.S. "I learned so much from Kathy. She is a very knowledgeable, professional and fun vocal coach to work with." A.H. "Kathy zeroed right in on proper vocal technique, proper breathing and diction. Vocal fatigue is now a thing of the past for me. I am forever grateful and still go to her for the occasional refresher course. She is a teacher that will bring out your true voice. Go to her!" J.M. "Kathy's positive energy is so contagious that she not only helped me improve my vocal skills but also greatly impacted my outlook and confidence in all other aspects of life. She is always extremely encouraging, teaches great technique, and is an overall awesome individual!" G.N. "I have been working with Kathy for years and feel lucky that a friend referred me to her. Kathy has been patiently bringing back my voice after a long hiatus from singing. She is positive and encouraging while continually motivating me to improve. Her enthusiasm for teaching, her ability to bring out the best in my voice, and her joyous attitude toward life make her a treasure." R.M. "Kathy was refered to me by the music director at B.C.; he had a long list of music teachers, but he said Kathy was the only one he would recommend for me. "I was really scared going into my first lesson, and it showed by how shaky my voice sounded, but right away, Kathy was warm and encouraging. She made me feel welcome with her warm smile and kind words, but I also appreciated that she was firm and wouldn't let me get away with doing anything else short of my best. She always made me want to try harder. "Kathy has been, by far, my favorite voice teacher. I admire her amazing musical talent, her kindness and her patience. I am thankful for the way she, little by little, help my self-esteem grow." Y.L. "Kathleen Roche-Zujko is a wonderful vocal teacher. I enjoy each of her lessons and always look forward to come to the lesson. Kathleen's vocal techniques really work. She will teach you how to correctly sing your favorite song and learn sight reading. She does it in a fun and creative way that makes you want to learn and practice. I can't wait for my daughter to grow up, so she can take the vocal lessons from Kathleen as well." A.H.
