Janet is extremely professional and warm. Voice lessons can be very personal, and Janet achieves the balance between guidance and connecting with you as a person and a musician. I had been singing for about ten years when I worked with her, and was looking to improve on my technique, so finding a voice teacher who could teach adults with experience was imperative to me. I enjoyed my lessons with her and continue to use several of the warm-ups and vocal drills that I learned while working with her.

I've always wanted to take voice lessons but I never gathered enough courage to actually do it. I decided to give Maddy a chance and since starting a few months ago I'd say my confidence has tripled. I'd recommend her to anyone!

I was looking for someone to help me improve my singing for my amateur theater hobby. And I found him. Jeremy is a kind, patient, and knowledgeable teacher and I would highly recommend him. I didn't realize how expensive voice lessons were going to be but now, I don't even care with how impressed I am. He can tell just by listening to me sing, what is going on internally that is causing issues, whether its pitch, tone, support, breath, mouth shape, you name it. He highly emphasizes technique which its exactly what I wanted from a teacher. My other teachers were more concerned with mastering an audition piece. Jeremy works technique through exercises and challenging pieces which will make you better at singing any song. And not just two songs that will get you the part. I have had 4 lessons and right now its a lot of deconstructing bad singing habits, which basically feels like learning how to walk because I've never sung properly before. I'm excited to see where this goes!

Our 10 year daughter has been under Shireen's tutelage for almost two years, and is already becoming a fine pianist. She is also turning into a very good vocalist! Shireen has never been anything but positive, helpful, and understanding. She is always very thoughtful in the way she teaches. She explains everything, and why it is important, making it easy for the child to understand WHY. She expects the same courtesy, punctuality, and attendance from her students, that she herself gives 100% of the time. We couldn't be happier with the choice we have made for our daughter's piano and voice lessons. Highly recommend!!

I studied with Scott for 4 years, but wish I could have stayed longer! Besides vocal techniques, Scott taught me so much about myself. He helped me overcome my fear of auditions/interviews, constantly encouraged me, and helped me gain self confidence. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to take voice, no matter if you're a beginner or experienced.

Sami is a wonderful guitar player and teach, as well as songwriter and vocalist. He takes a great interest in his students and helps to motivate them to their full potential. He's a fantastic musician and performer and can bring that experience to his students to help them grow in their performance abilities. He's a teacher who can work with beginners to get them up and playing songs they enjoy quickly, or work with accomplished players to improve their skills. A very caring teacher / mentor for his students.

Friendly and knowledgable, Larry was my piano teacher for over 5 years, but together we dabbled in voice, sax, guitar, and even a bit of drums. He tailored lessons to exactly what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it. He can stick to the standard lesson plans, or adapt them to exactly what you want to learn. He's a good guy and a good teacher who gave me all the foundations to be confident in just about every aspect of music.

About

Learning to sing is fun! You can do it. Even if you might think that you can't sing, I bet you can! It's all about patience, listening, and practice. All voice lessons are tailored to the student's abilities and interests. I will work with your individual vocal needs by developing an appropriate vocal technique. This means releasing the sound, breathing, getting an effective, efficient tone, and extending the range where necessary. We will explore various vocal styles, musical theory, and improvisation too. I teach a broad range of styles from musical theatre, folk, Celtic, rock, contemporary, jazz, and some classical. My students vary in age and ability. The foundation of good singing is the same for all styles. I do not accept just anyone as a student. I prefer to teach people who really want to learn and have a passion for what they do. How long will this take? Well, that depends on your goals. Students ages 5-11 usually schedule a 30 minute lesson, while students age 12 through adult may feel that a 45 or 60 minute lesson will do the trick. Just as for any other instrument, weekly lessons are essential. If a student is really motivated to train their voice, a regular lesson time and regular home practice is necessary to hear and feel results. What are your goals? Having goals for voice lessons is so helpful! Do you want to audition for musicals, community theater or college acceptance auditions? Do you want to sing for friends and family or have dreams of going professional? Do you want to inspire confidence within yourself to just sing out listening to the radio? All of these goals are attainable! I will work with you to reach your goals! You can do this! It's all a part of us! Students may bring material they wish to work on, and I will recommend music that would be appropriate for their voice type. New students may start at any time during the year. Tuition payments are made monthly. Rates are $115 a month for 4 - 30 minute lessons, $173 for 4 - 45 minute lessons and $230 for 4 - 60 minute lessons. Students are required to purchase their own books.

About

I love teaching music - piano, voice, and marimba. My many years of working with children and adults has given me insight on how to teach -- for each individual. My goal is for the student to enjoy learning, have fun and desire to play or sing - for self and/or share the joy of music with others.

Emphasis is on basic skills for the beginner, or nuanced corrections for the experienced student. Read our testimonials below: From a parent: "Just wanted to mention that S. loves her voice lessons. B. and I both think her voice has already improved! ...We're very pleased so far." S.K. From students: "Kathy is hands-down one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is positive, patient and extremely proficient at her craft. Through Kathy's teaching methods, I was finally able to site read and harmonize and conquer my biggest fear...auditioning! I have always felt Kathy was not only my teacher/coach, but also my personal cheerleader who gave me the confidence to find my voice. I cannot recommend her highly enough." A.S. "I learned so much from Kathy. She is a very knowledgeable, professional and fun vocal coach to work with." A.H. "Kathy zeroed right in on proper vocal technique, proper breathing and diction. Vocal fatigue is now a thing of the past for me. I am forever grateful and still go to her for the occasional refresher course. She is a teacher that will bring out your true voice. Go to her!" J.M. "Kathy's positive energy is so contagious that she not only helped me improve my vocal skills but also greatly impacted my outlook and confidence in all other aspects of life. She has been an invaluable mentor to me over the years, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to hone their musical talents!" M.M. "Kathy is my diva voice teacher because of her amazing voice. She is always extremely encouraging, teaches great technique, and is an overall awesome individual!" G.N. "I have been working with Kathy for years and feel lucky that a friend referred me to her. Kathy has been patiently bringing back my voice after a long hiatus from singing. She is positive and encouraging while continually motivating me to improve. Her enthusiasm for teaching, her ability to bring out the best in my voice, and her joyous attitude toward life make her a treasure." R.M. "Kathy was refered to me by the music director at B.C.; he had a long list of music teachers, but he said Kathy was the only one he would recommend for me. "I was really scared going into my first lesson, and it showed by how shaky my voice sounded, but right away, Kathy was warm and encouraging. She made me feel welcome with her warm smile and kind words, but I also appreciated that she was firm and wouldn't let me get away with doing anything else short of my best. She always made me want to try harder. "Kathy has been, by far, my favorite voice teacher. I admire her amazing musical talent, her kindness and her patience. I am thankful for the way she, little by little, help my self-esteem grow." Y.L. "Kathleen Roche-Zujko is a wonderful vocal teacher. I enjoy each of her lessons and always look forward to come to the lesson. Kathleen's vocal techniques really work. She will teach you how to correctly sing your favorite song and learn sight reading. She does it in a fun and creative way that makes you want to learn and practice. I can't wait for my daughter to grow up, so she can take the vocal lessons from Kathleen as well." A.H.
