Although we didn't end up hiring Stephanie and Paul for our event, I was impressed and very appreciative by how professional and flexible Stephanie was with me during our communications. I had a very limited budget for a school event and she was willing to work with me every step of the way to create a menu and service plan that fits. Furthermore, the menu she and Chef Paul came up sounded amazing! Because I had to meet with other committee and board members during this process to make any decisions, there was a lot of back and forth communication and Stephanie was patient and always prompt and thorough with her responses. Although I am sorry I didn't get to experience chef's food, I would definitely work with Emerald City Cakes and Chocolates again if I had another event that requires catering.
I had never met Chantel in person until the day of my husband's party. She is so professional and went to work so quickly. We chose her italian menu and it was absolutely delicious. I especially liked the stuffed pork tenderloin. It was incredibly moist with a cream sauce full of flavorful seasonings. I loved the green salad we chose with all of the fresh herbs and to die for salad dressing. Chantel was so kind and made me feel so relaxed. I would recommend her for any type of event. Chef David Boyd- Private Chef-Down to Earth Cuisine "Delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes"- On August 7th I hired Private Chef David Boyd to prepare an Italian Dinner for 10 in my home. (I had offered the "Italian Dinner for 8" as an auction item not knowing at the time who I would hire) He (and his lovely wife, also hired to assist him) arrived at 1pm to begin cooking for the 5:30pm event. Earlier in the week, we met to decide on the menu, appropriate tableware and wine/beverage pairings for the 5 course menu. We went with a Northern Italian theme featuring peaches because they were in season and seafood. I handled the purchase of the wine and cocktail ingredients but paid half of the per person food cost up front so that he could do all the grocery shopping which he did using local fish/meat stores and organically grown fruit and veggies from our area farmers market. He also arrived with all of his own knives and most utensils needed though he did use my mixing bowls and cookware. The entire meal was then prepared in our kitchen. Because he makes everything from scratch like croutons, mayonnaise, sugared garnish for the dessert etc. it is very time consuming, labor intensive and requires full use of your kitchen. He and his wife worked hard and fast for the 4.5 hours before guests arrived. They were conscientious and they cleaned and emptied the garbage etc. as they went. The result was delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes that my husband and I were proud to serve to our guests. I would suggest discussing the estimated prep time for individual menu items as well as the per person cost ahead of time. Chef David seems capable of working within any reasonable budget, but he does require a lot of prep time if you choose complex menu items so that factors into his hourly rate. I think the dinner cost me more than what guests paid at the auction but that's totally my fault for not being more clear about my budget and for suggesting such complex ideas like an appetizer of scallops served in some sea shells I had. All in all, it was a very impressive, well paced, 5 course meal, and my guests enjoyed hearing Chef David explain the details of each delicious course as it was served. It was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy my guests rather than stress about the food and clean-up. A really fun experience! Nichole really took the time to understand our food and diet preferences. Given all the picky palates and dietary restrictions I expected a fresh, but rather plain menu from Nichole. My expectations were far exceeded! The meals she prepared for my family were absolutely delicious!! Fresh, healthy, thoughtful and beautifully prepared and presented! Delivery was awesome and easy. Nichole is a talented chef and offers a wonderful service.
We hired Sue for a private party for a small group. She was collaborative on the menu and helped us with all the prep for the evening. She was on time. Very professional and pleasant. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend her to others.

Valerie is just who I needed in my life! I have been looking for a personal chef for some time now, but was never able to find anyone who met my needs...then along came Valerie. I'm a working professional who doesn't always have time to cook, and to be honest, I'm not the greatest cook either. Additionally, I'm on a strict diet plan following keto and cannot have dairy or gluten. Valerie knew what I was looking for off the bat and was so wonderful to work with - her professionalism, quick response time, candor and passion was beyond refreshing! I work at a non profit that provides a Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless ever year. Chef Charlie has been amazing in volunteering his time and skills to cook our Thanksgiving dinner for 200 plus marginalized people. Not only is his food delicious, but he brings such a joy to the kitchen. He is professional and able to direct all of the kitchen volunteers (some of which have never cooked before). Most importantly, during Thanksgiving he makes sure that everyone (no matter their life status) has the opportunity to have a 'fine dining' experience for Thanksgiving.
