Dennis is a genuinely kind person. He came on time and was able to complete the project of replacing our electric breaker in about 15 minutes while we were quoted an hour worth of work by an electric company I got in touch with before I contacted Dennis. After telling him that the electric breaker that was tripping was for the water heater he took a look at the tank too and found that the electric connectors were not tight which possibly was causing the breaker problems. We are very happy with the service provided by Dennis and would highly recommend him. This is the first time I've heard about and used Thumbtack and have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the ease of use of the page and the simplicity of setting up a project and receiving quotes. It took about couple of minutes to sign up and set up a project. Nice work Thumbtack!
Thumbtack emailed a quote within 1 hour of my request. Jarrod, of Good Hands Dependable Services provided his phone number with his bid; I called to arrange a date for the couch and woodscraps to be hauled. He suggested immediately (it was already O-dark:30), and he arrived within 10 minutes of his forecast. He is a responsive and literate communicator, fair priced, timely and efficient; not to overlook clean-cut, proper work clothes, and appropriatelly equipped vehicle. I do not know how Thumbtack is vetting contractors but this is my third good experience, keep doing it.
I hired Sam to tear down and dispose of a structure on our property, and to dispose of a few cubic yards of yard waste. Sam is perhaps the BEST communicator I have ever met in a sub-contractor. I found him to be punctual, easy to work with, honest, and fairly priced. He did a good job, and did it exactly when he said he would. Reliable, honest, and reasonable is five stars, in my book.
Jason is the professional you hope for when hiring a contractor. He did our job on time at the price quoted with excellent communication during. Couldn’t recommend him more.
An incredible, and knowledgable guy. I doubt if you find a tech better in his craft of entertainment installation. Technician Mike Simmons takes his collegian wisdom and applies it for a impeccable installation. He is specifically trained in electronics, information technology, electrical housing, as well as building contracting, and he constantly goes back to seminars to upgrade his awareness in his craft. The companies of entertainment media know him well because he is one of their main contacts, sometimes testing prototype devices for his professional opinion. He is a systematic tech, who's final results after his installation performances, are what I personally describe as clean. You won't believe what your place will look like after he is done. He creates technological man caves. I've got mine, get yours! It gets no better, and not expensive!
B&G Electrical Contracting did a great job. They were patient with me and understanding what they needed to do the job sucessfully and while we had some small scheduling problems, in the end it worked out perfectly! Our technician, Brett, was awesome! In and out in half the time I was expecting and did an amazing job!
We hired James to fix the botched-up job by another electrician. Not all electricians are made alike and it isn't until things go wrong (switches in unreachable places, lights that don't line up, missing outlets, etc.) that you realize just how important it is to hire someone who is detail-oriented and is communicative throughout the wiring process. James is all that. James is a can-do professional who does the job at a reasonable price--extremely difficult combination. He explained our options and worked through days and nights to complete the stated job within the originally estimated timeframe. This is important when you have other contractors waiting on the electrical work to complete their jobs. James also pointed out wiring problems we would never have known--how the other electrician overloaded a circuit or how he ran the inside wire outside, etc. Trust is important when you hire a professional and James is someone you can trust. So would I recommend him and call on him for other projects? You betcha. My only concern is that he will be booked up so fast with his great business model and I will have to wait a while for his availability next time I need his help. (= . Still, he is worth the wait because when he's doing your job, he's doing it 100% and gets it done fast.
We had a timer on our front entry that needed replacing. I felt I could easily do it myself, I've performed minor electrical repairs before. However, when I opened the switch plate there was a wire not connected on either side laying inside and I could not see where it belonged. I decided I didn't want to mess with it. We found Tony on Thumbtack after trying to hire an electrician from another source. We got 2 recommended contractors from that source. One contractor attempted to gouge us by saying (without looking at the job) that he will have to rip out our drywall to get a new wire installed. He wanted $350, which did not included the drywall repair after he was done. The 2nd guy never called, even after I reached out to him twice. I found Thumbtack, wrote a description of the small job, several contractor names came up. Tony responded 1st and we hired him. Best decision, he's honest, clean and professional. We had him look and fix 2 other small issues we were having and the total cost was very reasonable. We're looking forward to hiring Tony for another more ambitious project. If you need an electrician, hire this guy!!!
My husband and I interviewed numerous contractors to build a 300 s.f. addition for our home. After several months of interviews we decided that Jeff was the best fit for us. This was his first home addition for a customer. We couldn't be more pleased with the final results. Jeff drew the plans for our addition, applied for all necessary permits, and hired subcontractors where required. He did it all! It was a comfort for us to deal with just one person who was on-site every day during our project. This is not something you would generally get from larger companies. I was the main contract person for this large, 4-month long project. I appreciate that he genuinely listens to his customer's needs and concerns. He answered ALL of my questions - there were a lot! :) His customer service and communications skills exceed most other contractors we've hired. He has a high level of integrity, is respectful of your home, and an all around pleasant person to work with. Our addition is beautiful!! We loved that Jeff included us in the process and never assumed what we might want. The project took a little longer then expected; however, taking into consideration that a number of issues were out of Jeff's hands we were okay with the delay. We know that our structure is solid and safe. We've already hired him for our next project; remodeling our bathroom. Thank you Jeff from the bottom of our hearts. Sincerely, The Williams Family Kevin, Terri, Katie, Thomas, and Christopher
Tyer is the consumate professional. He assisted us with intricate electrical, security system and state of the art entertainment upgrades. His work was both timely and within budget. His technical knowedge proved invaluable and he provided us with practical and workable suggestions. Tyler is our go to guy for any technical work for our home.
Chris came out on short notice and fixed my heating electrical problem. My house is no longer in the 40s! He did excellent work, was prompt and friendly and I would highly recommend !
Paul has done a variety of work on my rentals and on my several personal residences over the past 20 years. He called my number by mistake in 1994, and it turned out I was looking for someone to build me some steps, so it wasn't a wrong number after all--it was a fortunate coincidence. He is skilled in every phase of construction, knows the code, and never takes shortcuts which jeopardize the finished work, be it plumbing, electrical, painting, or remodeling/construction. Paul knows what tools to use and that makes all the difference in time required to do a job and the quality when it is done. Paul has built two storerooms for me, rebuilt a porch, I've seen balconies he has rebuilt, he's installed linoleum in several of my rentals, laid tile, remodeled a kitchen picking out beautiful cabinets, remodeled several bathrooms, put in a jetted tub, repaired water damaged sheetrock, texturing/painting (he's done lots of that for me), repaired a water leak in foundation wall, found where windows were leaking and repaired them, installed dining room fans, redid the ducting and installed bathroom fans where there were none, switched out all the old interior doors for 6-panel doors, installed mirrored sliders, installed vertical blinds and window blinds, opened the stairway wall to facilitate air circulation, squared the exterior storeroom doors so they closed properly, replaced all the exterior locks, replaced the interior door knobs installed recessed lights, hid all the wires in the wall behind the TV, he's a master at making molding look great and fixing the weird spots so they aren't noticeable. The tile around my fireplace I love--it is marble and stainless steel tiles we found at Lowe's--he picked it out. To coordinate, Paul used stainless steel tiles again and burgundy colored glass tiles (from Lowe's again) for the kitchen. It coordinates so well. And that is one thing Paul has--a good eye for decorating ideas. He's replaced toilets, sinks, vanities, you name it. Once he found a pin hole leak in the bathroom wall behind the toilet that no one else had been able to find. I'm rambling here trying to recall all the various projects he has done for me. One thing where Paul has been a great help is acting as a consultant. When I had water in my dining room he was very helpful in filtering what the various contractors told me so that they could not take advantage of my lack of knowledge. He did the same with regard to slab jacking. Once [unnamed plumbing company] gave me a $3500 estimate to replace the pressure relief valve at the water meter, when I told Paul he steered me on the right path--the $600 path. He advised me when I had all the windows replaced in a triplex I owned. He did the same when I got a 40-year roof and new gutters. It is no small task painting a 3-story building and he supervised that too. Five stars aren't enough really. I've seen him manage a crew and I've seen him work alone. I probably left off some of the work Paul has done for me, he's my first choice for anything and everything to do with remodeling and new construction. It is too bad that my name and email are not shown with this recommendation because I would be happy to talk to you about the work Paul has done for me over the years. Since I'm an attorney, I can add, tongue in cheek, that I make this declaration under penalty of perjury under the laws of State of Washington . . .
I do home remodeling and one thing that's always tough is to find a good electrician. In all of the work I was doing Jason quickly became my go to guy. He's prompt, thorough, resourceful, and understands the importance of getting the job done quickly and efficiently. I've recommended him to my peers that are both contractors, homeowners, and business owners and I've never received anything but positive feedback for referring him. Jason has been doing electrical and low voltage work for me now for over 8 years and I can't imagine using anyone else.
Eric went above and beyond to build new walls in my basement so that it could be divided into two functional bedrooms with closets. He had great ideas for design and cost saving alternatives. The work included but was not limited to planning, design, framing, electrical, and drywall (hanging sheets to texture).
Adam and his crew worked on my upstairs bathroom and living room area recently and his work was spectacular!! The attention to every detail was something you hardly see with contractors today. If you want your project done correctly - have Adam at Gallagher Construction oversee it. You won't be disappointed. Glen / Mukilteo, Wa.
He arrived on time, tried a couple of low-cost solutions first, then had to do the full-cost solution. Got it done cleanly and professionally. Easy to communicate with and friendly. A+
