Corey is OUTSTANDING... This is the second project he has tackled for me and I am almost speechless by his impeccable work. That is saying a lot, since I am one picky who has been called (very tough to work for) before... He Arrives On Time, ALWAYS no questions asked. If you need work done on the weekend, he comes then as well. He is Very honest. I can leave my keys with him go to work and come home. He works hard above anything else, and boy does he do a good job. He works incredibly fast. He has a great personality, very funny, smart, and loves cookies :) He is, simply put, the best of the best in this business... Corey no longer is just a painter, or a handyman, he is someone I could call a friend.
Paul and Stephanie catered our wedding this summer and we were very pleased with their professionalism, the taste, quality, and presentation of their food, and their dedication in helping us realize our wedding vision. I was first contacted by them on Thumbtack in response to our request for a wedding caterer. We had already exhausted options from The Knot Vendor List and had been both overwhelmed with prices and underwhelmed with food taste and quality. Paul and Stephanie reached out to us quoting a plated meal including beef and fish for the same price as the cheap chicken buffets we'd been experiencing. They were kind enough to visit us in our home where Chef prepared generous samples of all the dishes we were considering. While we were eating, Stephanie took down details on the wedding and presentation. The food was phenomenal and hands down better than any other samples we'd been given. Chef even bustled about in my kitchen and found my Tupperware so he could package up the leftovers and leave them in the fridge for us. We decided to also take advantage of their pastry side and get our cupcakes for our dessert table from them. Stephanie hand delivered them to my work so I could sample them with the Fiancé. Chef did a great job at making me feel comfortable with everything he was preparing with his knowledge of gluten free cooking and baking and comprehension of cooking safety for individuals with Celiac. Nearly all our item we ordered were gluten free, and the ones that weren't, were kept separate. The months leading up to the wedding was simple and easy communication, I wish I could have said this for all my vendors. Payments expectations were made clear and could be easily made by credit card. Stephanie made time to have two additional consultations to discuss food plating, food table decorations, and cupcake topping design. I supplied her with a binder and the weekend before the wedding she had a phone consultation with me to review the details and it was evident she had already looked at all the contents extensively. The day of the wedding the catering team was on point. They jumped in and took over many of the duties our wedding coordinator was not attending to including setting up our appetizer and dessert tables and guest tables to my design plan. The food was excellent and all of our guests have said they couldn't stop stuffing themselves with delicious noms. The plating was lovely, the cupcake toppings were just as I'd envisioned, and the waitstaff and bartender were very attentive. Stephanie was present at the wedding and Chef Paul had prepared most of the food but was catering another event. I was so pleased with her and her staff and her attention to detail and hard work helping us create our day. They packed up all the leftovers for us and we were told they were the last vendors there still working hard at helping everyone clean up. If you are looking at catering a large event do yourself a favor and check out Paul and Stephanie. They are not only a great chef and planner duo, they are also incredibly kind and compassionate individuals. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't know Stephanie was also a wedding coordinator, I wish I would have hired her instead of the girl we did. Additionally, their prices are more than reasonable and worth every penny.
I used Francisco as a personal chef for my husbands birthday party and did a good job. A few friends liked his food so much they asked me for his contact information.
I enthusiastically recommend Nola and her team. I hosted a unique event at my home and my main goal was to make the guests feel appreciated and special. Thanks to Nola, every guest loved the delicious food--young and old, and different cultural backgrounds. There was a theme to the menu and each had its unique flavor, texture and color; she even created a recipe for a new dish. Nola brought floral décor to compliment mine. Nola consulted on layout and best flow to the event order. Nola was a gracious hostess and made everyone feel taken care of. They cleaned the kitchen, guests' service ware and put the leftovers on my own dishes so I had nothing left to do. I hope to have the opportunity to have them cater again soon.
We had a fabulous wedding and Tara was a large part of making that a reality. Tara is detail oriented, flexible, and most of all, an amazing chef! I enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for great food at a reasonable price for their event. While looking for a caterer, I found many quotes excluded significant costs such as Chef time, server time, etc. One quote doubled once these were added to the estimate. Not so with Tara. Her quote was accurate. She was upfront about the total price per plate and there were no surprise costs. Tara provided a tasting that was VERY reasonably priced. We brought along a couple friends for opinions and were blown away by the feast before us. There were appetizers, a salad, at least three main courses, and four or five sides. The tasting really showcased Tara’s talents and made it easy to choose her as our caterer. Once we had booked with Tara, she was available to discuss our menu as our needs evolved. When we added extra rentals and food to our contract, Tara took everything in stride and made it work. On the day of our wedding, everything went smoothly. We have received praise from multiple friends and family one of whom described her food as “Top notch”. Our day of coordinator told me she enjoyed working with Tara and would recommend her to future clients. Thank you Tara for being so wonderful to work with and making our day one to remember!

I am from Montreal visiting some friends in Seattle who had a baby a few weeks ago. As a gift to them we decided to hire a private chef to come in and cook a meal for us in their home so that we wouldn't have to worry about going out with a new born baby to a nice dinner. That is how I stumbled upon Thumbtack and Ken. Dinner was absolutely delicious and Ken is fantastic and very personable! Everything was such a breeze. He came up with a perfect menu and executed beautifully. If I could have him cook for me back home on a weekly basis I would! Thank you so much Ken you made the night a perfect one! What Ana amazing experience!!
The experience we all had with Bobby Greene was amazing from beginning to end. Throughout the entire process, he was very kind, accommodating, and, from what I hear, his food was divine. I would highly recommend him for any event. Frankly, if there were more stars, I would add them. But five will have to do. For my parents anniversary, I wanted to do something special. I ended up looking into private chefs and decided to put in a request to see what it would take to get this done. This option appealed to me as there is only one nice restaurant where my parents live and they go there every event. I wanted this to be something special for their 30th. Bobby Greene responded to my event request within hours with a bid and a very nice response on how he wanted to be a part of making their anniversary special. From that point forward, he personally helped me along the process and accommodated anything and everything I requested. I had never done anything like this before and had a lot of questions, all of which he answered readily. My mother was a bit picky when it came to the food, but he accommodated every request I had when putting the menu together. He was always very gracious and kind throughout the entire thing even when I thought I was being too pushy. He always made me feel welcome to ask questions and to make requests. I wasnt actually there for the experience, but I requested that my mother write a little excerpt about it so I could include in this review: Our youngest daughter surprised us with Bobby a private chef for our 30th anniversary. We found out when he showed up (we had the pre-warning of cleaning the house and wearing something nice). I felt very uncomfortable with the idea as we have an older home small kitchen and no dishwasher. But what was at first self-consciousness quickly gave way to Bobbys easygoing attitude. He made us feel at ease immediately with his warm, inviting personality. He let us set the ambiance. He could have stayed in the background for the romantic evening or be a part of it. He was so engaging though that we invited him into our evening. As he served each course, he explained what we were eating and how it was prepared. My husband and I met working in a restaurant 31 years prior so we were fascinated by the process. The food was delicious and I have to admit there were no leftovers! Though he is not a baker, he even made my favorite dessert a pineapple upside down cake and it was superb. My husband and I highlight recommend Bobby for any special occasion. He is truly talented; the food is prepared to perfection; and, he is very personable and engaging. We will always remember our 30th with great affection.
Chef David Boyd- Private Chef-Down to Earth Cuisine "Delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes"- On August 7th I hired Private Chef David Boyd to prepare an Italian Dinner for 10 in my home. (I had offered the "Italian Dinner for 8" as an auction item not knowing at the time who I would hire) He (and his lovely wife, also hired to assist him) arrived at 1pm to begin cooking for the 5:30pm event. Earlier in the week, we met to decide on the menu, appropriate tableware and wine/beverage pairings for the 5 course menu. We went with a Northern Italian theme featuring peaches because they were in season and seafood. I handled the purchase of the wine and cocktail ingredients but paid half of the per person food cost up front so that he could do all the grocery shopping which he did using local fish/meat stores and organically grown fruit and veggies from our area farmers market. He also arrived with all of his own knives and most utensils needed though he did use my mixing bowls and cookware. The entire meal was then prepared in our kitchen. Because he makes everything from scratch like croutons, mayonnaise, sugared garnish for the dessert etc. it is very time consuming, labor intensive and requires full use of your kitchen. He and his wife worked hard and fast for the 4.5 hours before guests arrived. They were conscientious and they cleaned and emptied the garbage etc. as they went. The result was delicious, organic, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated dishes that my husband and I were proud to serve to our guests. I would suggest discussing the estimated prep time for individual menu items as well as the per person cost ahead of time. Chef David seems capable of working within any reasonable budget, but he does require a lot of prep time if you choose complex menu items so that factors into his hourly rate. I think the dinner cost me more than what guests paid at the auction but that's totally my fault for not being more clear about my budget and for suggesting such complex ideas like an appetizer of scallops served in some sea shells I had. All in all, it was a very impressive, well paced, 5 course meal, and my guests enjoyed hearing Chef David explain the details of each delicious course as it was served. It was so nice to be able to just relax and enjoy my guests rather than stress about the food and clean-up. A really fun experience! I recommend hiring Chef David Boyd of Down to Earth Cuisine for your next dinner party. - Suzy H.
Cyndie of Savoury Thymes Catering was wonderful. She prepared the food and served to 50 people without a hitch. Many people mentioned how tasty the food was. And we really enjoyed Cyndie and her daughter, great people who were committed to making our wedding rehearsal dinner a great event. Bill
Great company to work with - from the office staff who helped with the menu to the caterers who handled the dinner and bar. Thanks so much!
Working with chef Patty at Fresh Every Thyme Personal Cef Service was the BEST decision I made when planning my family reunion! Our family likes to have fun during the day with various activities and come together for dinner every night. Patty worked with me to choose the menus for each night, she did the grocery shopping, much of the food prep, and then stocked our refrigerator. All we had to do was warm and serve! Saved so much time, energy and excess food. Thank you Patty for helping our family have the best vacation!
Valerie is just who I needed in my life! I have been looking for a personal chef for some time now, but was never able to find anyone who met my needs...then along came Valerie. I'm a working professional who doesn't always have time to cook, and to be honest, I'm not the greatest cook either. Additionally, I'm on a strict diet plan following keto and cannot have dairy or gluten. Valerie knew what I was looking for off the bat and was so wonderful to work with - her professionalism, quick response time, candor and passion was beyond refreshing! She is a fantastic cook and I plan on using her services on a regular basis. I can't wait to see what else Valerie cooks up (pun intended) and so excited to taste more fantastic dishes!
Chef Brad produced a fine meal (the crab salad and clam chowder were exceptional). The portions were enormous. Our only criticism was the pace of the four course dinner: it could have been slower and more leisurely. Then again, perhaps that much food just took longer to consume.
I have been a guest at several private dinner parties catered by Jen from the Salted Fig. These parties are by invitation only and promise a culinary journey you won't forget- and they deliver! Jen's menus are creative, cohesive, and absolutely delicious. The meals always feel so personal and nurturing, like she knew exactly what I wanted to eat, even though she is cooking for 20 of us. I would highly recommend The Salted Fig for any catering needs, especially if you are looking to serve up quality, excellence, and passion with every bite!
We are so excited about our upcoming wedding in 2018. I originally came in to get more information about their cakes not realizing they were a private venue as well! After coming in & meeting Tasia I was hooked! Not only did I get the information on the cakes like I originally wanted, she also offer a tour & was respectful of my time. I then went home & was so excited to come back & share the information with my future husband. We decided to come back & do another tour & ask more questions. It was very easy to schedule & get in that weekend easily enough! Tasia was AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable & easy to talk with. I had TONS of questions & she patient & able to answer them all. THANK YOU we can't wait to celebrate our big day!
I find love and passion in my work. Every plate is made with love and comfort in mind, body and spirit
Personal, one on one, hands on teaching/training.
Made to order Crepes awesome for any event! NEW: we also have a foodtruck!
I am a retired professional chef. I have trained and worked in Seattle my entire career from fine dining at Sorrento Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Willows Lodge, and Warwick Hotel to golf courses, Italian and French cuisines and comfort foods. I have great rapport skills also and lots of references.
My passion lies in the creation and achievement of a great event, as a whole, rather then what happens in the kitchen alone. Classical training provided a base for my culinary knowledge thats spans borders, cultures and of course flavors.
