Shawn is a wonderful and patient piano teacher. My daughter had lessons as a younger child and needed a change as she moved beyond the beginner stage. She's been with Shawn for about 8 months and her playing has improved significantly. She enjoys practicing again and is motivated by his instruction. He's offering her just the right amount of challenge, creativity and encouragement. And this is a 12 year old I'm talking about (hello parents of tweeners and teenagers)! We also appreciate his highly organized website and timely communication. All around Shawn is a fantastic, solid professional who is passionate about music, seriously grounded in theory and very consistent in his instruction with youth. If you're considering music lessons with him, you will be lucky to get on his schedule.

I've had the distinct pleasure of both, playing music with and learning from Eric. Eric's kind, patient, and flexible manner make him a wonderful teacher, as well as, an asset as a bandmate. One of his many great talents is that he can take his knowledge of the fundamentals of learning music, and make the experience fun and motivating. He performs regularly around the greater Puget Sound area, check him out!

I've taken guitar lessons from Tarik Bentlemsani for about 2 years. I had only a little previous music experience. Tarik is a highly accomplished musician; he has provided an excellent and comprehensive program for my development with encouragement, patience, and challenging pieces.

I have had three flute teachers and Lauren is the best teacher that I have had. I have learned the most from her and improved the most. She inspires me to practice, get better and push myself. She sees the potential that I don't always see in myself.

About

I teach beginning to intermediate music lessons on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. I enjoy helping students create and meet their goals through practicing, refining and sharing their musical achievements with friends, family and other fellow musicians. I believe that music is a gift from God, is meant to be shared with others, and should be passed down from one generation to the next. Take some time to learn how to play new instrument or brush up on an old skill. You'll be glad you did!

About

I am a professional flutist with a decade of performing and teaching experience. I provide flute lessons to all ages and abilities at a great rate. Your experience in music or your age doesn't matter; it's never too early or late to learn a new skill, or dust off that flute hidden in the closet. I have believed in teaching all aspects of music to my students, including music theory and music history, to help my students achieve their full potential. I use a mix of material, classical and modern music, to provide custom lessons for each student, and jazz, too! Whatever you're interested in, we'll study. I teach out of my home, but I am willing to make other arrangements if the student lives close by. I have openings for afternoons, evenings and Saturdays for half-hour and hour lessons. I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance, and music theory and composition. After winning my university's concerto competition in my senior year, and graduating with honors, I performed as the principal flute of the Bremerton Symphony for four years. This past spring, I was featured as a soloist and debuted one of my original compositions with the Bremerton Symphony. I love to teach and share my knowledge of music with others. I know that the economy is hard, but for a small investment of time and money, you can enjoy performing music for the rest of your life! Give me a call, and we'll set up a time to meet! Anna

About

I've been musically inclined since the young age of 2. I have a complete music room equipped with instruments, baby grand, and a two-staff white board for learning that I teach from. I will meet and beat any competitor's 30-minute lesson rate if my rate is not already the lowest around. I prefer beginners age 6 to 14, but I negotiate on age. For advanced music theory, I will teach any age. Let me formally introduce myself to you to show you my qualifications. I'm Laurie Walsh, and I have been singing multi-part music for 14 years and playing violin for 13 years, cello for 8 years, flute/piccolo for 5 years, and piano for 9 years, and I am currently picking up the harp. I have traveled the country competing on my violin and with my voice. I was asked personally to play at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and for the Emperor of China in 2006. I act and sing professionally for my college, and I have received many casting calls for leading female parts in Broadway musicals, such as Wicked, Cirque Du Soile, Side Show, Once Upon a Mattress, Glee, and many more. For my young age, I have accomplished a lot, and I plan to teach music for the rest of my life not only at home as my hobby, but also as a university teacher, along with continuing my acting career on center stage. I can promise you that your child will begin to read music clearly within the first 4 weeks that they are enrolled with me. Teaching music is a God given talent I have received, and I would love nothing more than to share it with your children, so they can experience it, too. Parents are welcome to stay with the child during the lesson; there is also the Lakewood town center right down the road if you prefer your child to be independent. I offer the following: - Private 30-minute lesson is $20 per child. - Group (2-5) 30-minute lesson is $15 per child. - Private 60-minute lesson is $30 per child. - Group (2-5) 60-minute lesson is $25 per child. Discount information is found below. I offer lessons on the following: - Violin - Cello - Piano - Voice - Flute - Piccolo - Music theory - Advanced music theory I will be offering harp lessons once I have learned my way thoroughly around the harp. I also offer a 10% discount on the price of lesson if paid at least four lessons in advance. Unlike most private teachers, I incorporate music theory into the lesson free of charge. Music theory teaches a child about the music staff and the notes that fall on it, and I feel that learning the basic concepts of music theory will be the foundation on great musical success for them.
