FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
~ I teach Year Round-School Year-Short Terms ~ My fees: $25 half hour; $35 45 minutes; $40 an hour ~ Paid monthly in equal payments: $100, $140, $160 ~ The fee that you pay when you start will be the fee that you pay when you terminate your lessons - I am adverse to raising prices just because a student has several years with me. ~ I consider myself a good choice for someone to make in choosing me as their piano teacher because my current fees after years of piano teaching are in the same range as teachers with no experience who are beginning to teach. ~ I am priced to keep piano lessons affordable for most people. ~ When my fees are too much for someone to afford, I often will negotiate to find a fee that is possible for the family to make or for the adult student to afford. A 10 lesson payment will allow 1) Flexible Scheduling and 2) A Free Lesson $250 - $350 - $400
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To "Get Acquainted" at a free lesson where I will teach them basics about music that allow them to play a few simple songs well and easily and then I will choose a few songs, popular or classical to play for them to experience my sound and my expression and to demonstrate my musicianship. Piano lessons are best when taught on a weekly basis for continuous progress and working with a piano teacher to avoid errors and poor response to music that is being seen for the first time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A trained musician's life is never without continuation in more learning - you would have to be very introverted and passive to rest on your laurels and not continue pursuing music as you continue to discover new composers, new performers, newly published books by those "in" music and seeing where today's society has gone in music making. Then there is the world of several hundred years of piano and piano literature that have come prior to today. Whichever direction is interesting, follow it, pursue it.
