Janet is extremely professional and warm. Voice lessons can be very personal, and Janet achieves the balance between guidance and connecting with you as a person and a musician. I had been singing for about ten years when I worked with her, and was looking to improve on my technique, so finding a voice teacher who could teach adults with experience was imperative to me. I enjoyed my lessons with her and continue to use several of the warm-ups and vocal drills that I learned while working with her.

My first first day of voice class was superb. At first I was really shy. But he made me feel more comfortable with my voice. Because there's nothing to be afraid of when your learning something new. I loved his energy. And he's easy to get along with and flexible!

I have worked with Jeremy Shilley for 4+ years. Throughout that time, he has helped me to grow as a vocalist, both in my technical capability and in my breadth of repertoire. He is very astute in determining music that is well suited to my voice and guiding me in selecting pieces for performance and audition that will highlight my vocal range. Even with a busy work schedule and when I moved out of the area, he was able to be very flexible in creating a lesson time on Skype that was mutually agreeable. I highly recommend Jeremy Shilley for private voice lessons whether you are a professional performer working to improve your skills or an amateur studying for enjoyment.

Hello my name is Edward, I’m currently taking Voice Lessons from Robert Lunte of TVS Vocalist Studio in Seattle Washington. My main goal when I was looking for a Voice Coach was to develop my voice so I could sing all types of music and not become pigeon hold with my voice to being only able to sing one style of music. Robert has developed unique techniques in training which no other trainers have the skills and knowledge of that I’m aware of at this time. Furthermore, Robert is able to work with each individual on their own strengths and weakness. Through his training he has helped me become stronger and more confident in my singing abilities where there is nothing that I can’t conquer or overcome.

Scott was a professor of mine at the Evergreen State College, and then I went on to take private voice lessons with him. I've had numerous voice teachers in my life and Scott is definitely by far one of the best. Besides being inspiring and super fun to be around, Scott is incredibly knowledgable about the anatomy and mechanics of the human voice, so you can be sure that under his guidance you won't damage your instrument (this has always been a concern of mine because my grandmother was an opera singer who got a vocal surgery which ruined her voice). Whatever you're looking to work on, be it more technical or more performance-based, Scott can definitely help you get there. Simply put: he's great, he knows his stuff, and I highly recommend him as a teacher and mentor.

I've always wanted to take voice lessons but I never gathered enough courage to actually do it. I decided to give Maddy a chance and since starting a few months ago I'd say my confidence has tripled. I'd recommend her to anyone!

I have been studying Vocals with Sami for 2 years. He is an amazing instructor, he is patient, kind and a blast to learn with. Every lesson is designed for me based on my progression from the week prior. He is always available to speak even when I don't have lessons to offer additional help. Thank you Sami for helping me become a better singer.

Our 10 year daughter has been under Shireen's tutelage for almost two years, and is already becoming a fine pianist. She is also turning into a very good vocalist! Shireen has never been anything but positive, helpful, and understanding. She is always very thoughtful in the way she teaches. She explains everything, and why it is important, making it easy for the child to understand WHY. She expects the same courtesy, punctuality, and attendance from her students, that she herself gives 100% of the time. We couldn't be happier with the choice we have made for our daughter's piano and voice lessons. Highly recommend!!

Our daughter has taken voice lessons with Aaron for about 3 years and really loves her time in his studio. Aaron has a wonderful ability to connect and has really helped her become the confident singer she is today. Bitterlake Studio is an extremely warm, positive, safe and inspriring environment and Aaron is the most supportive teacher. He is a very talented musician and a passionate and artistic person. His presence puts her at ease with a confidence to explore her strenghts and weaknesses. We are so grateful for Aaron making it a challenging but very fun learning experience for our daughter.

Melanie has been invaluable as a teacher of piano and voice to both of my kids for the past couple years. What I appreciate most about her is the sense of fun she brings to every lesson. It's so important I think to convey that joy because music can provide such a place of peace and happiness in one's life in my opinion. I also really appreciate the live performance experience she provides for each student during the end of year concert. Not only are the students able to work with professional musicians but they also can test their wings when it comes to live performing. I look forward to many more years where my kids continue to explore music with Melanie Vail!

    About

Learning to sing is fun! You can do it. Even if you might think that you can't sing, I bet you can! It's all about patience, listening, and practice. All voice lessons are tailored to the student's abilities and interests. I will work with your individual vocal needs by developing an appropriate vocal technique. This means releasing the sound, breathing, getting an effective, efficient tone, and extending the range where necessary. We will explore various vocal styles, musical theory, and improvisation too. I teach a broad range of styles from musical theatre, folk, Celtic, rock, contemporary, jazz, and some classical. My students vary in age and ability. The foundation of good singing is the same for all styles. I do not accept just anyone as a student. I prefer to teach people who really want to learn and have a passion for what they do. How long will this take? Well, that depends on your goals. Students ages 5-11 usually schedule a 30 minute lesson, while students age 12 through adult may feel that a 45 or 60 minute lesson will do the trick. Just as for any other instrument, weekly lessons are essential. If a student is really motivated to train their voice, a regular lesson time and regular home practice is necessary to hear and feel results. What are your goals? Having goals for voice lessons is so helpful! Do you want to audition for musicals, community theater or college acceptance auditions? Do you want to sing for friends and family or have dreams of going professional? Do you want to inspire confidence within yourself to just sing out listening to the radio? All of these goals are attainable! I will work with you to reach your goals! You can do this! It's all a part of us! Students may bring material they wish to work on, and I will recommend music that would be appropriate for their voice type. New students may start at any time during the year. Tuition payments are made monthly. Rates are $115 a month for 4 - 30 minute lessons, $173 for 4 - 45 minute lessons and $230 for 4 - 60 minute lessons. Students are required to purchase their own books.

    About

We offer voice lessons for beginner or advanced students. Perfect your audition songs; find new ones; work on your technique, and save your voice! Emphasis is on basic skills for the beginner, or nuanced corrections for the experienced student. Read our testimonials below: From a parent: "Just wanted to mention that S. loves her voice lessons. B. and I both think her voice has already improved! ...We're very pleased so far." S.K. From students: "Kathy is hands-down one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is positive, patient and extremely proficient at her craft. Through Kathy's teaching methods, I was finally able to site read and harmonize and conquer my biggest fear...auditioning! I have always felt Kathy was not only my teacher/coach, but also my personal cheerleader who gave me the confidence to find my voice. I cannot recommend her highly enough." A.S. "I learned so much from Kathy. She is a very knowledgeable, professional and fun vocal coach to work with." A.H. "Kathy zeroed right in on proper vocal technique, proper breathing and diction. Vocal fatigue is now a thing of the past for me. I am forever grateful and still go to her for the occasional refresher course. She is a teacher that will bring out your true voice. Go to her!" J.M. "Kathy's positive energy is so contagious that she not only helped me improve my vocal skills but also greatly impacted my outlook and confidence in all other aspects of life. She has been an invaluable mentor to me over the years, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to hone their musical talents!" M.M. "Kathy is my diva voice teacher because of her amazing voice. She is always extremely encouraging, teaches great technique, and is an overall awesome individual!" G.N. "I have been working with Kathy for years and feel lucky that a friend referred me to her. Kathy has been patiently bringing back my voice after a long hiatus from singing. She is positive and encouraging while continually motivating me to improve. Her enthusiasm for teaching, her ability to bring out the best in my voice, and her joyous attitude toward life make her a treasure." R.M. "Kathy was refered to me by the music director at B.C.; he had a long list of music teachers, but he said Kathy was the only one he would recommend for me. "I was really scared going into my first lesson, and it showed by how shaky my voice sounded, but right away, Kathy was warm and encouraging. She made me feel welcome with her warm smile and kind words, but I also appreciated that she was firm and wouldn't let me get away with doing anything else short of my best. She always made me want to try harder. "Kathy has been, by far, my favorite voice teacher. I admire her amazing musical talent, her kindness and her patience. I am thankful for the way she, little by little, help my self-esteem grow." Y.L. "Kathleen Roche-Zujko is a wonderful vocal teacher. I enjoy each of her lessons and always look forward to come to the lesson. Kathleen's vocal techniques really work. She will teach you how to correctly sing your favorite song and learn sight reading. She does it in a fun and creative way that makes you want to learn and practice. I can't wait for my daughter to grow up, so she can take the vocal lessons from Kathleen as well." A.H.
