Speaking confidently has always been a difficult thing for me. Others often told me they couldn't hear me, that I spoke softly, and that my tone was flat. I tried to improve my speaking independently for many years but needed help. I recently enrolled in Mike Acker's Public Speaking School course and met with Mike for four sessions. What's impressive is that these sessions helped me tremendously! My colleagues told me there is a marked improvement in how I articulate and vary my tone-I am blown away! Hello folks, Mike recently helped me get through a very heartfelt speech that I gave at my daughter's wedding reception. Needless to sat that was one of the most difficult speeches that I've ever given. I was confident I could put my thoughts on paper, but was not confident at all that I could keep my emotions in check and deliver it. Mike helped me tweak the speech a bit so that it flowed smoother and worked with me on delivery and overcoming the fear of large crowd speaking. As Mike says the most important detail is "be in the moment" and don't let that fear spoil a great celebration and I did exactly that! I went up there and delivered it from what I was told perfectly, and there were many teary eyes in the house but for the most part I was able to keep my emotions in check because of the tips Mike gave me. I even went off script a bit and inserted some one liners that landed big. I received so may compliments from both sides of the family and my daughter was so very happy to hear my words. I highly recommend Mike for anyone looking to overcome public speaking nerves and emotions to deliver an important speech where you only have one shot at getting it right. Thanks so much Mike for taking the time out of your vacation to work with me! Ken
