I took piano lessons with Jan before I moved and she was wonderful! She's so enthusiastic about what she does. You can really tell that her goal in being a piano teacher is to spread the joy of music. She's a great listener and is very down to earth. If I ever go back to Seattle, I'd definitely take lessons with her again.
We unfortunately only attended one of Bryan's drum lessons .(only because my four year old wouldn't practice). Bryan was great! He even had on Aladdin, upon us arriving which made my daughter extra comfortable. It was a great ice breaker for them to talk about. I would absolutely recommend Bryan to anyone needing drum lessons ages kids to adult.
I’ve been studying guitar with Mary for about two months now, and I can’t say enough good about her. tl;dr: Mary will understand and support your goals for guitar playing, and she is beyond capable of helping you reach those goals. First, Mary is very supportive and cognizant of my goals as a musician. If I had a song in mind that I wanted to learn, I’m absolutely sure she would help me learn it. As a beginner, however, I don’t have anything in mind and happily play the tunes she gives me. Speaking of tunes, she has so many on hand. Every week she gives me new sheets with songs that cover the technique we work on. Mary’s extensive lesson repertoire certainly helps fulfill my goal of expanding my musical vocabulary to more artists and genres, all while developing my skills on guitar. Similar to her supportiveness, Mary is also very understanding yet insistent. As a busy young adult, on average I work eight to ten hours a day and follow a daily workout regimen to boot. While my goal is to practice guitar at least 60 minutes per day, on many days I don’t have time and fall short. Despite less-than-ideal practice, Mary accommodatingly works around the progress I make (or don’t make). At each lesson I can consistently expect help with last week’s trouble areas in addition to new material — Mary sure likes to press on. Can you blame her? There’s technique to master and songs to learn! :) On her teaching style, Mary is very creative. She customizes her lessons to the individual, and — I really like this about her — she tells me exactly what she wants to cover at the next two or three lessons. This way I know what she’ll teach, and I have the opportunity to discuss what I want to learn (e.g. scales, barre chords, etc.). With decades of guitar study under her belt, she can teach anything. By “teach” I mean make you really understand. She has countless analogies, anecdotes, and demonstrations for helping you learn or improve any technique. She’ll try things until it “clicks” for you. Teaching creativity like Mary’s is an invaluable skill that will undoubtedly help any student she has. To end on a light note, Mary truly is a spectacular musician. Her playing is effortless and always a joy to hear. She makes even the beginning things I’m working on sound musical and fun to play. Mary is a gem of a teacher, and I can’t recommend her enough.
Absolutely amazing! I am a total beginner but he instills confidence and makes everything seem so easy and doable! I'm so very happy to have connected with him and I don't hesitate to recommend him to anyone thinking about taking piano lessons! I'm learning and really enjoying this!
I took guitar lessons from Ryan for about seven months. He really catered the lessons toward your skill level and what you wanted to learn. He also encouraged goal setting and continuous practice with the lessons he provided. Overall, I would recommend him as a guitar teacher because he cares about your specific goals as a guitarist and will work with you to achieve those goals.
Ken is nice and responded very fast to my questions, I purchased guitar lessons for my son birthday, and he was very professional about it.
Taking singing lessons from AB Voice and Performance has been so much fun. I look forward to my lesson every week and have noticed improvements in my singing voice every time I finish a lesson.
I think that Ed does a great job of evaluating the ability and potential of new students allowing him to tailor the right lessons for the student. This gave me meaningful exercises that resulted in noticeable growth in my ability.
Amber is a very patient and through teacher who is well educated in music and child development. She has a genuine love for music which I'm so happy to see is contagious to my kiddos! I have 2 children with special needs and she is the perfect teacher for them! My kids look forward to their music lessons and can't wait to show her what they practiced all week!
My daughter has only had two lessons with Aaron, so I do not have a long term relationship to base my review on. However, I can say that Aaron was very prompt at returning my emails and phone calls . Very professional in how he approached making financial arrangements and scheduling our lessons. He provided references for me to check with. He offered a complementary initial lesson. And perhaps most important, when I pick up my daughter from her lesson she has a smile on her face and says Aaron is very nice.
Started taking singing lessons with Maddy as a complete beginner. She's been so kind, patient, and supportive and is wonderful about explaining how the voice works. I highly recommend her!!
Minami has provided vocal and piano lessons for our tween daughter for several months. My daughter loves the instruction that Minami gives- a great combo of fun and learning. She is always positive and considerate with her feedback to the student while producing the results needed. I love the convenience of her home lessons as well as her prompt communication.
I have been taking piano lessons with Michael since October. Prior to studying with Michael I took lessons from another teacher for about 6 months. In the short time I have been working with Michael I have learned far more than I did during my whole time taking lessons with my other teacher. Micheal's approach to teaching is comprehensive and fun and is rooted in understanding the essence of the piano itself and music theory. He is very passionate about music and really enjoys teaching. He teaches with methods that are outside of traditional piano books and uses materials that build upon each weeks lessons. I have been very impressed with how much I have learned in such a short time. Michael is a very patient instructor and learning from him has been an extremely fun and exciting experience. He truly cares that his students are learning and comprehending the material and is very in tune with how each person learns. If you are looking to learn and understand piano and music in general, I would encourage anyone to hire Michael.
Jeremy has the credentials and skills to teach music. But above that he is personable. Able to teach new skills or correct old bad habits. I come away from my lesson feeling uplifted and feeling that whatever talent I may have has been affirmed. I also feel that I can do anything because Jeremy believes I can Good with all ages.
Luke taught my son Garret for over 6 years. Garret, who is highly dyslexic, benefited from Luke's method of teaching, Luke's patience and overall wonderful personality. Luke is a magician with teaching kids on the piano--wonderful. I also referred Luke to some of my adult friends who enjoyed taking lessons from him. Further should you need an extremely accomplished and wonderful entertainer for an evening even-hire Luke-Youll marvel at his talent on the piano! Lessons or entertainment with LUKEit not to be missed! Emily & Mike Laurelhurst
As a beginner level adult student, I've found that Sergey was a great teacher, giving me lots of useful tips to continue practising in my own time between lessons. Sergey has a lot of enthusiasm and passion for music and the piano which gave me more motivation to learn and continue learning. If my stay in Seattle was not so short I would have continued weekly lessons with him.
I am an adult, professional, working full time and raising two teenagers. I have been taking acoustic guitar lessons from David O'Suna for the last year. I have progressed from beginner, with some prior musical experience, to being able to play hundreds of songs. David has been low-key, encouraging and able to challenge me to build on my skills every week. His teaching style is very adaptable and his knowledge and interests are wide ranging. He has been an excellent resource.
Outstanding guitar instructor! Jacob is very patient and easy to get along with. He's a fantastic musician and sincerely works to make sure that I stay interested and continue to get better. I would highly recommend him as a guitar, bass or drum teacher to anyone looking for music lessons!
He is very patient in teaching.
Love this school! It's been great experience for both of my kids. We've been taking piano and guitar lessons for last 4 years
I have been studying Vocals with Sami for 2 years. He is an amazing instructor, he is patient, kind and a blast to learn with. Every lesson is designed for me based on my progression from the week prior. He is always available to speak even when I don't have lessons to offer additional help. Thank you Sami for helping me become a better singer.
