Nolan was extremely responsive and came by to help me install my ceiling fan the same day I put in the request. Would highly recommend.
Dennis helped us with installing a ventilation fan in our bathroom. He was great!! He got to our place on time, and he did a wonderful job, it looks and works perfectly. I highly recommend Dennis and would definitely hire him again in the future.
Sam replaced the baseboards for our house and he did a wonderful job. He even went to the store for us and bought more material when we ran out. He was punctual, replied to our emails immediately and ensured that everything was done perfectly. We will hire him again without hesitation!
Dennis replaced the dead fan/light in the bathroom of our condo on QA. It's a rental for us now and we live out of state so finding someone to do this type of smaller project work is challenging, to find someone who does it well and to completion is more so. Dennis ended up making 3 trips to complete the project including patching the hole when the new model ended up being 'just a little bit' smaller than the 1978 version that was replaced. He was friendly and communicative and worked directly with my tenants to scheudle times that worked for them. Thank you Dennis.
Eric did an awesome job on the exhaust fan replacement at my place. He was on time , professional and very friendly. He did an A1 level job on getting the fan replaced, opening up the duct , securing it from the attic and ensuring the Fan is well positioned. Will be be referring him to couple other folks as well.
We rewired an entire house in 2 days! How many holes did we have to cut in the wall? 2!!! If that is not a job well-done, I don't know what is. James is great! He went above and beyond to get my project complete over this memorial day weekend. So here are my top 5 greatest reasons to hire James: 1.) Knowledgeable: Out of all 5 electricians to come look at my house and give me a quote (all from Thumbtack), James was the only one to even look in the attic and crawlspace to get the full scope of the job. He told me exactly how hard it would be and what needed to happen. James also carefully explained what he was thinking to get it done so I understood exactly what needed to happen. This guy knows his stuff. James's knowledge extends from the technical mapping of every outlet to which tool is right for each part of the job. He even thought to buy small-tooth saw bits so we could have a cleaner cut on my plaster wall. Knowledge like that is why I could make a quick easy patch and I recommend James for sure. He customizes your whole experience to your house for every piece of equipment, space and timeline. 2.) Care and Quality: James took time to explain everything he was doing for me, and would answer any question I had. At the end of the project I know how to add an extra outlet myself and I know how my whole house works! I know the ins and outs of every wire and where it goes. James is a patient teacher and took time to give me a lesson on everything, which as a homeowner is invaluable for my time and money! You can't pay for these kinds of custom lessons. Additionally, James made sure my pregnant wife was comfortable during this entire process, kept the fridge on and made it as convenient as possible for us to be without some electricity for any span of time. He would often suggest we work one way in order to let my wife use the Air conditioning in a room during 80 degree weather. James was always there for me, no matter how long I wanted to keep going. For two days James stayed until 1am just to help make sure everything got done on my timeline! James also went to the store with me twice to make sure we had the correct materials. 3) NO HOLES IN MY WALLS: Seriously, to only have to drywall two spots after rewiring an entire house is a blessing. Easy clean up afterwards too. I appreciate this to no end. I have had guys in the past cut giant holes with no regard of how much time it would take to fix. James was careful, found the studs and allowed for overlap in the cut. I can cut a piece with a paper overlap easy now. 4) Brought my house to code: James is expert. He brought my house to code, where it was seriously out of compliance with state standards. He organized my breaker box so it is easy to understand and took time to troubleshoot and label everything for future use. 5) Customization and Price: James took time to walk through everything with me and ask where I wanted new fixtures or outlets. He asked where I wanted switches and lights and made it all happen. His price beat everyone's by $2000 dollars minimum, and he was totally fine negotiating. Best of all, James named the price and any customization was included. I added all sorts of fixtures and outlets for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. Flat pricing. I highly recommend James. I can't say enough good about him.
The process from estimate to project completion went smoothly. Dylan and Jason came over to give us an estimate to replace our knob and tube wiring in our old attic within two days of contacting them. They communicated their arrival time well and were flexible with our schedule. They walked us through some issues and helped us understand how our house is wired. Making extra effort to clarify my questions and suggest future improvements that can wait. The quote was agreed upon that night over the phone and they scheduled time with us immediately. Four days later they arrived as expected to complete the work. They accommodated my request to splice into the switches in the walls to avoid having to open them up pending our renovation in the new year. This saved us having further disruption to our home in the holidays. The only downside was some ceiling plaster which cracked as they were moving around in the attic. They even pointed it out. It is a quick fix but something that we didn't see happen during other work on our furnace or insulation in the past so are curious what was different about this job. They completed as expected on day 2. The wiring is clean and no garbage was left behind. All lights work as expected. The job came in on quote. Overall we're happy with the work and will ask them to return to help with future renovations or small jobs.
Paul has done a variety of work on my rentals and on my several personal residences over the past 20 years. He called my number by mistake in 1994, and it turned out I was looking for someone to build me some steps, so it wasn't a wrong number after all--it was a fortunate coincidence. He is skilled in every phase of construction, knows the code, and never takes shortcuts which jeopardize the finished work, be it plumbing, electrical, painting, or remodeling/construction. Paul knows what tools to use and that makes all the difference in time required to do a job and the quality when it is done. Paul has built two storerooms for me, rebuilt a porch, I've seen balconies he has rebuilt, he's installed linoleum in several of my rentals, laid tile, remodeled a kitchen picking out beautiful cabinets, remodeled several bathrooms, put in a jetted tub, repaired water damaged sheetrock, texturing/painting (he's done lots of that for me), repaired a water leak in foundation wall, found where windows were leaking and repaired them, installed dining room fans, redid the ducting and installed bathroom fans where there were none, switched out all the old interior doors for 6-panel doors, installed mirrored sliders, installed vertical blinds and window blinds, opened the stairway wall to facilitate air circulation, squared the exterior storeroom doors so they closed properly, replaced all the exterior locks, replaced the interior door knobs installed recessed lights, hid all the wires in the wall behind the TV, he's a master at making molding look great and fixing the weird spots so they aren't noticeable. The tile around my fireplace I love--it is marble and stainless steel tiles we found at Lowe's--he picked it out. To coordinate, Paul used stainless steel tiles again and burgundy colored glass tiles (from Lowe's again) for the kitchen. It coordinates so well. And that is one thing Paul has--a good eye for decorating ideas. He's replaced toilets, sinks, vanities, you name it. Once he found a pin hole leak in the bathroom wall behind the toilet that no one else had been able to find. I'm rambling here trying to recall all the various projects he has done for me. One thing where Paul has been a great help is acting as a consultant. When I had water in my dining room he was very helpful in filtering what the various contractors told me so that they could not take advantage of my lack of knowledge. He did the same with regard to slab jacking. Once [unnamed plumbing company] gave me a $3500 estimate to replace the pressure relief valve at the water meter, when I told Paul he steered me on the right path--the $600 path. He advised me when I had all the windows replaced in a triplex I owned. He did the same when I got a 40-year roof and new gutters. It is no small task painting a 3-story building and he supervised that too. Five stars aren't enough really. I've seen him manage a crew and I've seen him work alone. I probably left off some of the work Paul has done for me, he's my first choice for anything and everything to do with remodeling and new construction. It is too bad that my name and email are not shown with this recommendation because I would be happy to talk to you about the work Paul has done for me over the years. Since I'm an attorney, I can add, tongue in cheek, that I make this declaration under penalty of perjury under the laws of State of Washington . . .
Jeff is a very good handyman. He and his partner showed up on time and installed my solar attic fan, I am looking forward to install a second one in the future.
My husband and I couldn't have imagined how wonderful the job TJ and Marvin did for us!! We hired them to - pretty much gut our backyard and deck - remodeling everything for us. They treated or job as if it was their own home. It was so much more than what we hoped for. I would - in a heartbeat - recommend them to anyone. The beautiful work they did for us will be enjoyed for years to come. They leveled our backyard, planted new sod, installed all new fencing, built patio with a fire pit. They tore down and built a new, enlarged deck that wraps around the side of our house. They took out our bedroom window and installed sliding doors to the new deck which looks out onto a beautiful wetland. They installed a new ceiling fan. When we moved into our house 5 years ago, our furnace was in one of our bathrooms. Due to the design of the bathroom, there was no way to cover the opening to the furnace - leaving it an eye sore. They took our the door to the bathroom and installed a smaller door - leaving them room to install a beautiful - barn door style door - closing the opening to the furnace. In the future, any remodeling to our home will be easy, all we'll do is call TJ and Marvin!! If I could, I'd give them 6 plus stars!!
Ryan and his team were AMAZING to work with! My loft remodel had wires coming from all directions and was overwhelming to any other electrician that came to price out the job. (And even to my 79 year old Dad who used to be an electrician!) I needed to rewire and change my kitchen and loft space completely, various new lighting locations, plug ins moved around, bathroom fan rewired, new stove, oven and refrigerator rerouted, rewired and set up, centering and wiring a chandelier hanging 12 feet up on my ceiling, etc. They were on time, efficient, and did the job in 1/3 amount of time and price that the other two electricians who I received bids from said it should take and cost. It was a really easy and stress free experience. Everyone I worked with at West Seattle Electric (Ryan, Scott and Mark) were extremely knowledgeable, patient and straight forward communicating professionals, as we discussed the pros and cons on all the options for each situation. I will ONLY recommend West Seattle Electric and already have to everyone I know. Because of the outstanding and positive experience I had with West Seattle Electric, I am currently re-evaluating my experience with my current contractor and now hold any professional I work with on my loft remodel to the same professional and amazing level West Seattle Electric delivered. If you want straight forward, efficient, knowledgeable and get it done right, West Seattle Electric is the place to go!
Eric showed up on time for his estimate appointment. His van with his company logo on it was clean. I received the estimate to add an additional outlet in the guest bathroom and the master bathroom a few days later. I found him very easy to work with. We scheduled the appointment. He came and did the work on time and within the estimate he had prepared. He came prepared with all the GFIs we had discussed. I noted that the holes he had to make for the new outlets were well inside the boundaries for the new switch plates or covers. The outlets and covers he brought matched both the color and the style of the others in the bathrooms. I was afraid that a gap might show or the colors would not match. He vacuumed up all the debris that he created. If I hadn't heard the vacuum, I wouldn't have known he was there. While up in the attic to run some wiring, he noted to me that I should get more insulation (and a possible tax credit). He said that it would be easy to rent a blower and loose fill insulation. That was an added bonus. He did mention that I might want to considered getting a whole house surge protector if I had a large number of delicate electronic items. I would hire him again.
I had Chris out to my house recently to redo our house. When i say redo, i mean redo. A pipe broke but it was more like a slow leak so when i had my floors rotting out that rippled into walls we decided to redo everything. We had hardwood and tiles put in and they were flawless. I dont know if i can attach pictures but if i can i will. He remodeled our bathroom, our kitchen, and our living room. Remodeled half of our study and my daughters room. I painted the whole interior to get rid of the mold. Insulation and plumbing was done by a sub he recommended but everything turned out flawless. I loved getting updates while i was at work or out of town. Toni sent me pictures of extra work that was going to be involved and asked if i wanted it performed not pressuring me into it. I also appreciate the fact that they worked weekends. I appreciated the fact that they were so courteous of my stuff, covering my clothes when they sanded the drywall in the laundry room, carefully placing my paintings where they would not get broken, etc. At one point, something was cut short, it was a really simple mistake but Chris went and got some more to replace it. I really appreciated their honesty. They did what they said they would do and on time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I loved the fact that they fixed the issues and i loved the fact that they stayed within their estimate even though most of the work was hourly rated. They really increased the value of my home! Call them for repairs or remodeling...
