In cleaning out our parents home, we found my father's hand crafted Oak wood worker's bench from the 1950s in the garage. He was a European carpenter/cabinet maker. Even though it was covered with years of dust and stains, I could not bring myself to part with it. Thankfully I found Tilley Woodworking on Thumbtack. Christopher Tilley did an amazing job refinishing it!. Chris was extremely professional, responsive, punctual, and respectful of the family significance of the piece. He listened carefully, asked questions, was careful in transporting the bench. He even sent me photos mid-way through the project so I could see the new look. Pricing was very reasonable and included pick up and delivery. The bench turned out Beautifully! It now has a permanent place in our living room as a very special piece of furniture. We highly recommend Tilley Woodworking and will definitely use them again for any other wood refinishing projects.

Mark is an expert cabinet painter who produced an excellent final product. Exceeded both time and cost estimates, but still saved me a great deal of money and inconvenience as compared with installing new cabinets.

We hired Tanya to help us design our recent kitchen remodel. She and I met several times to shop vendors for granite for our island, quartz counter top and tile back splash. She also gave many suggestions for new cabinet hardware and helped me select a paint color. Tanya also gave me ideas and suggestions through my Pinterest board that she created for the remodel. Every aspect coordinates so beautifully together - we love our room. Tanya was great to work with throughout the process and we would definitely hire her again for future projects.

Bee's Knees built and replaced a cabinet bottom for me. The only thing that could have possibly made it better is if he had the material for the bottom on his truck. I would say it's impossible for them to carry EVERYTHING they might need for each job though.

Finding a good handyman needn't be difficult--just call Craig. He completed quite a variety of work to help me prepare my house for sale, including installing water barrels and new downspouts, removing a satellite and repairing roof, installing fans and light fixtures, hanging a medicine cabinet, grouting, concrete patching, and hanging a new storm door, among other projects. Craig did excellent work, and it is clear that he is a very skilled, trustworthy, and fair handyman. I recommend him so highly--I wish I had found him years earlier.

I had Brian work on several projects around my house starting with the basement. The basement remodel turned out amazing. He did the basement floor, trim work and doors. A portion of my basement floor sloped to a drain and other contractors did not know how to make the flooring I wanted Work in that area. Brian was able to complete my flooring project without a problem. From there he installed the wall sconces and track lighting. After the completion of the basement project, I asked him to remodel the bathrooms and paint my kitchen cabinets. Then that led to having him install and paint new doors. What I liked most was his attention to detail. The work area was always left clean and organized. I would definitely recommend him for your next home remodel project or for any repair work needed. He also helped me with unclogging several drains in my home, and changing light fixtures.

This was a design-build project. Ray Habenicht, owner of Habenicht Homes, started with a big empty attic. First, Ray insulated it carefully then framed in the bedroom, closet, and corner storage areas. Then he hung dry-wall and finished the rooms, which had a multitude of difficult, yet charming attic angles. The finished product is delightful and aesthetically pleasing. At this point they primed and painted walls and ceilings. Ray built a tray ceiling with molding and inset lights where a ceiling fan will hang. He built doors to match our 1905 Colonial four-square farmhouse, including smaller versions for the bedroom corner storage areas and one to fit the attic bedroom closet. He trimmed out all the windows and doors, again to match the rest of the home, then added bead board and trim to the walls of the great room area. He built bead board-trimmed doors into the corner storage areas that almost disappear into the rest of the bead board/trim. I say almost, but hasten to say that I'm glad they are a little noticeable, they are so very pleasant. He built-in a special reading nook, with the bookcase modeled after a painting by Swedish painter, Carl Larsen. The south end of the great room includes two built-in desks with drawers (for our homeschooling children to share), two clever bookcases with cubby holes below for baskets, and a large beautiful window seat that opens for storage. Ray was good at re-purposing left-over materials to cut costs. For instance, he suggested using the (beautiful) flooring to top the window-seat and cap off the half-walls. He built-in another desk for a home office as well as a DVD-player cabinet with storage into the half-wall . Ray transformed an unfinished attic into a show-room piece with many personal touches. The craftmanship is amazing. Ray is more than a carpenter, he is a designer, and, really, an artist. Taking our dreams and making them reality. Truly, our attic is not only functional and efficient, it has our personality written all over it. As people come upstairs for the first time they take a deep breath and breathe out, "Wow!"

Rich did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel project. We wanted to open our kitchen up and still use the existing cabinets in order to stay within budget. He did an excellent job rebuilding and repositioning the existing cabinets to give us what we had envisioned. He also completed our tile backsplash to give it a really nice complete look.

Sarina painted all of my 25-year-old pink-tinted maple kitchen cabinets a beautiful distressed sage green color. She did a meticulous job and we're really happy with the results. It requires a lot of detail work and Sarina did a fabulous job.
