FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I fully understand that lessons can be a huge commitment for a student and their family. Tuition is paid by month with a few different rates that are detailed further down. I want my students and their families to feel happy with their choice, so the first lesson that we schedule is completely free! If you choose to continue after the first lesson, there are a few different packages that I offer. These packages differ depending on how many lessons you’d like to take per week. If you’d like one lesson per week, then that would be considered the “standard” rate. If you’d like two or three lessons per week, then the amount you pay per lesson decreases. If you choose to take more than one lesson per week, the amount you pay obviously increases over a monthly period, BUT the value that you get per dollar would be much higher. Not only are you getting MORE value by paying LESS per lesson, but you’re also fitting in more lessons each week which would allow you to progress at a much FASTER rate! There are a few other benefits that remain the same regardless of which package you choose. First, I fully understand how hectic your calendar can become, so I offer extremely flexible scheduling. We can easily manage any week to week changes, and that would be with no extra charge. The other main benefit to my lessons is that my tuition remains the SAME, and you’ll always be charged on the SAME day every month. This is based on a four week monthly system, so depending on how many lessons you decide to take per week, this can result in getting a FREE lesson (or 2 or 3 FREE lessons) once every 3 months or so! This is due to certain months having a 5th Monday, so any lesson during that extra week would be FREE of charge! Official Tuition Rates: $60/lesson - 1x a week $55/lesson - 2x a week $50/lesson - 3x a week
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The FIRST step is for us to figure out what the student’s goals are. Whether they’re large or small, it’s important that each student has something they want to move towards, so we can adjust our focus during lessons. The SECOND step is figuring out any initial frustrations the student may have, as they can get in the way of their progress. The THIRD and most important step is making sure they have FUN! While it is important to make progress, there’s no point if it isn’t ENJOYABLE. I focus on this aspect the most, so that my lessons feel less like a chore and more like a fun activity that students look forward to!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Coming from a small liberal arts college on the east coast, I was able to study several subjects but gravitated mainly towards music. I studied classical piano, music theory, voice, and audio production through many courses and independent learnings mixed in between. Working as a solo artist since 2022, I’ve also been able to implement my previous experiences and studies in piano within my own work, as the vast majority is self produced. When I moved to Milwaukee, I joined the Milwaukee Music Academy, where I was able to strengthen my skills in piano and voice. I had the opportunity to perform as a vocalist and keyboard player in shows at Ope! Brewing and at Summerfest, respectively. Beyond the monumental growth I’ve seen in my technical skills, through the academy and my former teacher I was able to act as a shadow and learn the ins and outs of teaching music. These aspects, such as understanding how to bring the best out of different students, supporting them through growth and failure, and helping them feel safe as they learn, are even more important than the skills I’ve gained as pianist!
