  • Kenneth Fought

    (23 reviews)

I have been playing the guitar and bass for 40+ years and have been teaching music since 1978. I am a 1999 graduate of UW Parkside with a B.A. in music, (classical guitar performance), and I was the first student in that school's history to graduate with the jazz studies emphasis. Another great educational experience was my year at the famed Musician's Institute (G.I.T.) completing the then 1-year program as well as pursuing private studies with Pat Martino and Robben Ford. I have performed in a variety of groups at many venues in the Midwest and on the West Coast. My educational philosophy is to accept students of any age and level of ability and to tailor the lessons to the needs of that individual. I am comfortable teaching all styles of music such as blues, rock, metal, jazz, funk, R&B, classical, country, folk, etc. Students can learn improvising/soloing, learning songs by ear as well as by the note, music theory, composition/songwriting and a whole variety of related subjects. I strive to make learning an enjoyable experience for both of us. I teach electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar (with fingers, pick, thumb, and slap/pop styles), mandolin, and ukulele. I offer lessons in Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha. Why not try a lesson this week? Regards, Kenny Fought I understand frustration. When I started, I got so discouraged that I quit playing for nearly a year. On my second try I was able, with help, to get over the little bumps in the road. It hasn't always been easy for me, so I think perhaps I'm a better teacher than someone who didn't have struggle with it like I did. I really like helping people to understand that while it isn't always easy, if you persist, you will be able to really play. Seeing the light go on when a student gets it, or reaches a goal, never gets old for me.

  • Mark the Guitar Teacher

    (8 reviews)

I provide lessons in guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, and banjo. The method I use has been perfected over twenty-five years teaching students from 4 to 83 years old. My approach is to challenge the student, but work at a pace that assures the student understands the material before we move on. I have taught performing musicians who want to expand their knowledge as well as beginners who have never played an instrument. If you need an instrument, I sell and rent guitars and banjos as well as sell basses, ukuleles, mandolins, banjos, amplifiers, and accessories. All instruments for sale are new, carry a full manufacturers warranty that is handled locally, and are professionally set up. The same care is afforded the guitars and banjos I rent. If needed, I repair and setup string instruments.
