Mr. Stollar is outstanding with his high level of knowledge in math and English. He will take as much time to bring you back to concepts that you may have learned a few years ago if it means that you understand the material
Sarah Klontz is such an amazing English teacher. I am currently a student at UC Berkeley, and Sarah is doing a great job in honing my writing's skills every week. She is truly supportive and caring, and give out great details and indeed double check if you understand the material or not. I totally recommend her!
Maurice is the best...very good with kids and has the wisdom of the sages in his approach to teaching. We have been incredibly pleased and continue to enjoy his help each week.
I first met Eric through a mutual friend and I immediately recognized he was someone who could edit my first published book. Through his insights and understanding of my creative intentions he really helped me to focus and make a coherent narrative that my publisher loved. He really has a knack for getting to the central message which was really important given the combination of images and text. Since our first collaboration he has edited and made great suggestions for my resume and cover letters plus has tutored my kids with great results. He's someone who understands the "big picture". I'm lucky I ran into him.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Prior to using Mrs. Flowers my son had gone through several tutors for ACT preparation. Although we were very happy with his last tutor, he seemed to need a change of pace and additional bump in English/Grammar. Becky Flowers was highly recommended by a friend, and words are not enough to express what a great experience we had. My son's score increased by 5 points in the English in only 1 month. When I reached out to Becky (1 month prior to the exam) she was very polite, understanding, and accomodating. I would also like to note the skyping sessions are GREAT !! It allows the flexibility to squeeze in these tutoring sessions into their already busy schedules as it cuts out "travel" time. We feel Becky helped his overall score through her education, motivation, and tips. Thank you Becky, it is refreshing to know someone who loves what they do and look out for the best interest others! I've taken about two months of introductory Spanish from Abigail, and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to learn Spanish, both because it is clear that she knows Spanish language and culture from personal experience and also because it is clear that she knows how to teach language. She uses a wide range of teaching resources, including group games, jokes, Spanish songs, and out-of-class worksheets. In addition to immersing students in Spanish, she has taught formal grammar rules which explain the mechanics of Spanish. All of these teaching methods complement each other well. She does a good job of connecting with the people she is teaching, and is very accommodating to people with concerns or needs. During college, there were some classes in which I wished I could go on learning indefinitely; that will definitely be the case for me while taking the Spanish class Abigail is teaching right now.
Stan helped me go from failing to A's in multiple subjects. He was patient, understanding, and had mastery of the material. In addition Stan was able to help me with the issues I had beyond the content that allowed me to do better in other classes that he wasn't tutoring.
My daughter really likes working with Tina. She was failing Alg II and after two sessions with Tina she passed her next two test and made a 81 on her midterm. Tina was able to present the material in a way that was both understandable and a liitle bit enjoyable. I say enjoyable because my daughter did not realize that she had been studying for an hour during either session.Looks like Tina won't be able to continue tutoring but we really hope she can. My daughter is already a little disappointed that she may have to find a new tutor and is dreading her next test without Tina's help.
I called Michelle to inquire about getting a Math tutor for my son Logan who has been absent from school for an extended period due to a heart condition. He had fallen behind in his work and needed help desperately! I had a tutor lined up with another company but unfortunately after waiting for over a week for our sessions to begin, he called the night before we were to begin and told me he would be unable to keep his appointment and wanted to reschedule. I decided to look for another company and I saw the advertisement for East Valley Tutoring. Michelle was absolutely fantastic to speak with and promptly found me an excellent tutor for Logan who agreed to come over for all 3 of the days I had requested. Even on such short notice , she found me an excellent tutor named Janelle who arrived the next day, right on time and was ready to begin helping my son. She was very polite and kind, well spoken and very skilled at her work. Logan was instantly comfortable with her, as were my husband and myself. She really explained the work in detail to Logan, making sure he absolutely understood every step. She was such a tremendous help so quickly! She offered to help him in Language Arts also, another area he needs help in. I have subsequently booked Janelle for another 8 sessions and am looking forward to Logan being able to return to school and be able to keep up with the work his class is doing in his absence. I highly recommend Michelle and East Valley Tutoring to anyone looking for a highly skilled tutor who will arrive on time as promised, with a friendly personality and the desire to help the student succeed. Janelle is an outstanding tutor and East Valley Tutoring is the only place I will call from now on.
Shelly is a fantastic teacher. Marie was visiting from France and wanted advanced english sessions. Shelly provided great teachings and is very professional and well schooled! Highly recommended !! 5 stars!
there were numerous times where I didn't understand a chapter that I was learning but the way Ayman teaches and explains it makes it more easier to understand the concept of the equation or whatever it is I'm learning. He has a sufficient way of tutoring and is very helpful in regards of my lessons in class
Dan was great. He was very professional and my husband are really satisfied with our resumes. Would recommend him to anyone. Thank Dan!
