I have been working out with O'Neil fittness for years and I have always gotten the results I've wanted. I've worked with other trainers, but none motivated me like O'Neil fitness. Their knowledge on nutrition and health has really helped me to stay healthy.

I started training with Kyle because I tore my ACL two years ago playing soccer and have been unable to play sports since then. I've also gained weight due to this lack of exercise. My experience with Kyle has been awesome - I was a little intimidated to start training, but Kyle is patient at the same time as pushing me to do my best. He takes a holistic approach to training, helping me with my diet and answering any questions I have as they come up. He's very knowledgable about fitness and nutrition and he always takes care to ensure I won't re-injure my knee. I've seen significant improvement in my strength, my weight, and my overall health in general and I hope to start playing sports again very soon. He also has great discounts for group workouts, so now I train with a friend and it's been a great experience so far. All in all I couldn't ask for a better trainer!

Amanda met me where I was, which felt like nowhere. She lifted me up to help me see my strengths and, yes, where I needed improvement. She always did so with grace. We have worked together for about a year, she has been my nutritionist, coach and Yoga gal. My doctor has approved me to get off of two medications and I feel 200% better physically and emotionally. Amanda gave me my life back.

I am a sport psychologist and trainer working out of the same gym as Herculean Elite Performance. I trust her so much that while I was out nursing an injury, I turned my clients over to her. She has proven herself through her excellence, commitment and quality of work on the highest level in a consistent manner. Every client she takes on receives the benefits of her expertise in proper lifting form and caters each workout according to the needs of her clients. It is not a one size fits all approach, rather an attack towards each persons' specific goals. She is a one stop trainer, providing detail and a whole body approach. I would have no hesitation to trusting her with my own clients again.

While navigating the various challenges life throws at us all, I still feel compelled to take some time and thank. I also want to scream to the world how happy I am. I have taken back control of my life and I can't thank Sollus enough. A little history. I am a 44year old who had made sports and proper fitness a part of my life up through about 30. Unfortunately, I lost my way and I let my exercising suffer. With that has come a middle age belly and a fear of being included in photos. I have literally tried everything: All the trendy diet plans, fasting to clean my system, juicing, you name it. I have also tried all kinds of exercise programs: lifting programs, yoga, hot yoga, circuit training, trx, crossfit., as well as nutritionists, one on one trainers that were nice and those that were super tough. Nothing seemed to work. What is right? what is wrong? low carb? low fat? high fat? It was maddening. Sollus has provided me with is a method that gave me back control over my food urges. More importantly they provide the kind of incredible caring support that is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Have I been perfect this month? No, but Sollus's consistent, calming knowledge, and real heart-felt investment in me helps me know that this time I will win and have lasting change. To all those out there who are frustrated, defeated and staring at a weight mountain that seems impossible to climb. To those hating that life seems like a constant craving for food and then hating themselves for eating it. To those who say its middle age and I just can't do it like when I was younger. There is hope. Thank you Sollus.

Chauncey is an amazing trainer. He is very knowledgeable on different techniques to train today's athlete. He really pushes you to reach your maximum results. I am in my late 30's and am still playing competive soccer and tennis. Chauncey is able to help me train for both of those sports. He is very dependable and personable. He knows that I am coming off of a badly broken ankle, and is also helping build back its strength. I highly recommend Chauncey!

Mary has been terrific to work with. She has been the only person who helped me lose weight and keep it off. In addition she does not try gimmicks and is respectful of my personal beliefs. I never feel guilty asking questions or discussing how work and life sometimes impact my eating habits.

Coach Johnson has been my daughters personal trainer for the past 9 months and we have seen vast improvement in her strength, agility and balance. My daughter is in 7th grade. She really enjoys the training sessions and the coaching style of Coach Johnson. The training has given her more confidence when she plays basketball and runs track. She feels she has a physical advantage over the other girls her age because of the training. I would recommend Coach Johnson as a personal trainer and we appreciate the positive attitude and effort Coach Johnson displays each session.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
