I hired Pima Decorating to replace more than 700 linear feet of baseboard in my 3,300 SF house in south Chandler. The scope of work included removing all the old baseboards, installing new baseboards, which included rounded corner pieces throughout the house), caulking in and painting the new baseboards (we went with brown), and then repainting the walls above the baseboard to give it a crisp, finished look. Joe, Larry's son, did all the work and it looked fantastic when he was finished. Joe is highly skilled, thorough, and takes great pride in making sure it's done correctly.
After the project was complete, I had the entire house re-carpeted. Just as the carpet installers were finishing, the crew supervisor let me know that I had a pipe leaking behind the wall. After opening up the wall, we discovered that one of the nails securing the baseboard had hit the copper water pipe, but evidently hadn't punctured it until the carpet guys used their stretching tool to put pressure on the baseboard. This was a fluke and would not have happened if the house builders would have centered the pipe in the 2x6 like they were supposed to (it was less than 1/2 inch from the edge of the board). Despite the fact that this was not Joe's fault, Larry and Joe agreed to repair the wall at no additional cost after the pipe was repaired. Joe repaired the 2 foot by 3 foot opening in the drywall , re-textured and repainted the wall, and reinstalled the baseboard. When he was finished, you could not tell where the opening was. If I ever need more trim or drywall/texturing work done, I will call Pima!
