David has been great! After I moved to my new house there were some leaks in the laundry faucet and the bathroom sinks,David took care of the problems on time. Unlike other plumbers his prices do not change! I still have a few other projects that I will need Davids help for like the shower faucets...i highly recommend David!! He is great!

I didn't think I could find a reputable and honest plumbing business on line until I found "Done Right Plumbing"...on Thumbtack. Their response to my posted job was within minutes, and they immediately dispatched a licensed plumber all in less than 30 minutes! Jake gave me a competitive price estimate on the spot, lower than other estimates and began the job immediately! Approximately one hour later the leak and associated aged plumbing was fixed and working great now. I found my interaction with the owner and plumber to be one of the best ever. Honest people, standing behind their work that was professionally done. A 5 star business that you can't go wrong with. Make them your first call! You will be pleased that you did. Thank you Done Right Plumbing. They won't take advantage of you (elderly, disabled, snowbird). Terri K.

tl;dr: quality work, on-time, on-budget, fair rate, already had John back for more work I needed a bunch of drywall repair done after I had some plumbers rip my interior walls apart. John was able to patch all of the holes as promised: no bulges, no cracks, and even matched the knockdown texture. A month later I had him back for electrical work to which he and his teammate executed perfectly, to code, as requested, and, again, on-budget. I highly recommend John Ausema and will be requesting his services again in the future.

I was reluctant to go through the perceived hassle of having a tech come out for an in-person estimate, but it was well worth it. Judd was fantastic!! He spotted an important issue (from a across the room) with a out-of-code valve that several others had missed. Further, Judd went out of his way to accommodate our difficult and short notice time/scheduling needs on 2 separate visits. He is extremely knowledgeable and getting the job done right is important to him. Costs were very reasonable and in-line for a licensed plumbing contractor.

Fixed a leak in my shower/tub as well as replaced some of the fixtures. Up front about the pricing and they have set prices for their services so they don't randomly up charge you. Very friendly staff, both the plumber and those working at the office. Will definitely use them in the future.

We were having a big problem with a pool pump not getting power from panel and Breaker and also no power to back barbecue and no water to drip irrigation. Three "Master" licensed electricians came and quoted from $1050 to $2090 to fix. Marco thoroughly tested and analyzed everything and resolved all problems in three hours for $180. He really knows his stuff. I never write reviews but if you are ever in a big bind like us and need someone who is honest and has the common sense and intelligence to really figure something out, look no further.

Carlos replaced all the water lines in my 60 year old house, he installed a new water heater, replumbed my dishwasher, installed a new sink in the bathroom and replumbed the shower with new fixtures and repaired pipes that had serious problems. Carlos and his Crew did an amazing job! I would recomend Carlos to anyone who needs a plumber, he is very professional and he will give you an excellent quote and be done with the work in record time. I was thoroughly happy with this company. Josh was not only prompt and kept me up to date, he found a plumber for me and after that work was done his guys came over the next day and did my drywall repair. They were clean, professional and very nice (they even said hi to my dogs). Again, I was delighted with everything.

Had a backed up sink. Michael came to snake the drain for the advertised price of $69. After some inspection he "suggested" a hydro flush, which was explained as a high pressure cleaning of your home's pipes. It's used to flush out dirt, grease and debris from the pipes that accumulate over the years. When I asked how much, I was surprised by the price tag of $650. Having just spent $700 to have my home heater fixed, I quickly declined. I felt like there was a bait and switch, in a way. I declined the service and just had him snake the drain, which he did to my satisfaction. I can't afford to have the high pressure done at this time, but in one last effort to sell me the service he told me his supervisor would give me the Christmas Special of $450. I thought there was a little bit of high pressure sales to go along with the high pressure flush of the pipes. Again I declined. If I truly do need a flush of the pipes, I will do it on my own terms, where I can adequately shop around and get the best price. I've had plumbers in before and no one ever suggested the flush like he did.

We had issues with a leaky shower valve and sink angle stops. The company was very responsive and gave us great updates and were very reasonable in price. The plumbers were personable and allowed my son to “assist” them.

Morgan was a pleasure to talk with on the phone - she quickly found a specialist in my area for the same day. Alex came within about an hour after I called him. Immediately cleared off the stuff that was damaged by water and set up dehumidifier, fan, and applied treatment. Came back on the third day to wrap everything up. The area was completely dry and ready for drywall repair. It was a pleasure working with Alex. I would definitely hire them again. The price was very reasonable.

Jim was referred by a mutual buddy when I was having major issues with a plumber sent out by our home warranty company. We went 3 weeks with no hot water. I felt like I was not being told the truth. I finally reached out to Jim for guidance. He was extremely patient with me as we spoke multiple times about the issue. He guided me on specific things to check on. Etc. I had yet another issue a month later in regards to our water softer. He took the time to walk me threw everything again. He took time and made sure I new exactly what to say to the plumber. The fact that this man took time out of his day multiple times to help me speaks volumes to his honesty and moral compass. He is in the business for the right reasons. I Couldn't recommend a more forthcoming man for any job you may have.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

  • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
  • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
  • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
