7. Michel's Sax Station
"Mr. Michel Helou has more than a decade of experience playing the saxophone, including soprano, alto, tenor and bari. Mr. Helou is a graduate of Foxborough High School where his passion for classical and jazz saxophone started. As a member of the Foxborough High School, Mr. Helou competed in state and national competitions, and has the privilege to play with some big jazz names including Wynton Marsalis. After high school, Mr. Helou went to the University of New Hampshire (UNH) to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies, but still continued to play music. Mr. Helou studied under the direction of Mr. Dave Seiler while attending UNH and played in the UNH jazz band and combo. Mr. Helou was also a member of a local reggae/ska/rock band known as The Feel Goods, holding experience in other genres of music. After relocating from Foxborough, Massachusetts to San Leandro, California, Mr. Helou currently plays the saxophone and gives lessons on the side of a full time job as an Environmental Scientist. With a large repertoire of music experience since a young age, Michel's Sax Station is the right place to contact for those with little to no experience in the saxophone.
Mr. Helou takes great pride in not only providing adequate training for saxophone basics, but also in teaching music history and his passion and love for music. Music should be fun and therapeutic, not tedious."
