Aside from being a full time performing musician, I have a passion for teaching music to students of all ages. My teaching style consists of a systematic approach to learning music in an organized way catered to each individual student's needs. I love to see my students grow through disciplined hard work and dedication. Lessons are taught in 30 minute or 60 minute intervals.
BIO: Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Tim Lin is a Taiwanese American jazz talent whose progressive sound comes from his appreciation of the bebop jazz tradition. During his junior year in high school, Tim was mentored by bay area saxophonist and educator Dann Zinn. Guided by Zinn's inspirational teaching, Tim discovered his passion and calling for jazz. Attending the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, Tim received a scholarship to study with the world-renowned jazz recording artist Bob Sheppard. Tim was a member of the award winning USC Thornton Jazz Orchestra directed by Bob Mintzer in addition to the USC Honors Combo directed by Jason Goldman.
In his twenties, Tim has performed as a sideman with jazz luminaries such as Kenny Burrell, Tootie Heath, Russell Ferrante, Terri Lyne Carrington, Carl Allen, Mike Clark, Essiet Okon Essiet, among many others. Tim has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival, Blue Whale, Catalina Bar and Grill, Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, Fillmore Jazz Festival, and internationally in Taiwan where he was first runner up for the International Taichung Saxophone Competition.
Tim now resides back in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family. He is an active jazz artist, educator, composer and is preparing to release his debut album in the upcoming future.

出生成長在加州舊金山灣區的林偉庭， 是一顆新興崛起的爵士樂明星。 他漸進，熱血，溫醞的音色源於他將傳統爵士樂與當代爵士樂的融合。。在發現John Coltrane的名作 ”A Love Supreme”後，他從此便被爵士樂的奇妙所深深吸引。高中三年級時，林偉庭便跟著加州灣區的名薩克斯風演奏，教育家Dann Zinn學習。在Dann Zinn深具啟發的教學指導下，林偉庭發現了他對爵士樂的熱情，喜愛。他期望通過努力學習，成為一流的爵士樂手。。林偉庭獲得了USC Thorton音樂學院的獎學金，在世界聞名的爵士薩克斯風樂手Bob Sheppard門下學習。在大學裡，林偉庭除了是在由Bob Mintzer 指導的USC 獎譽盛名Thorton Jazz Orchestra的一員外，他也是Jason Goldman指導下USC Winning Honor Combo的成員。
二十出頭的他便曾與許多爵士名家如Kenny Burrell, Tootie Health, Russell Ferrante, Carl Allen, 等一同演出。林偉庭曾在Monterey爵士音樂節，San Jose爵士音樂節，Blue Whale，Catalina Bar and Grill餐廳，Monterey Next Generation爵士音樂節，Fillmore爵士音樂節表演。林偉庭現在居住在舊金山灣區，在這裡他是一位活躍的爵士樂藝術家，教育家，和作曲家。目前他正在準備自己的首張專輯，在不久的將來就會推出。
