I had a few leaks after the hard rain here in So. Cal. Scott's team of Shabir and Duran came out, and were very professional and knowledgeable. They identified the issues, and went right to work. The job was finished in reasonable time The cost was reasonable, and so far no more leaks. thanks guys. You are my new roofers!

Hector Gomez provided a very competitive quote against (4) other roofing companies promptly. His license and insurance followed to support his quote and progressive manner to get my business. A schedule was created, materials were purchased, and work began The work was done thoroughly to our satisfaction. Hector explained what was being done on our patio roof and the job was completed. Clean-up was performed and we are ready to entertain under our new patio roof. New customers will want to call No Limit Roofing.

I was referred to Team All Star by my friend who they had done some work for to do my house remodel, they did my roof, my windows, my air conditioning, a new patio and painted. All the work was started at the same time and they completed it in about a week. I am so happy, all the workers from the roofers to the painters did an amazing job, and I just love my windows. Larry came out with Sean and gave me some tips on design and it all has turned out so beautiful. I want to mention that even though I called Larry a lot, he never complained even when it was 10 pm, he always was kind and courteous. Dealing with Larry and Team All Star was like working with my family, they really made me feel important. Thanks you guys!

I searched and searched for a roofer repair today on a Sunday through Thumbtack, worried that no one would help us with a 10% chance of rain on the way. Within 5 minutes I got a response from Ross at West Hills Development Inc., and was given the answers needed to help us out. He was at our home in the hour time frame he said he would arrive. My husband was completely happy with the work. And to have finished just in time before it started to sprinkle. We would highly recommend Ross services & keep him on our list for future repairs/upgrades in our home. Thank you again.

I gave him a deadline to complete the project and that was fulfilled. Carlos and his crew was nonstop workers they demolition the roof and was able to deliver the latest methods and roofing system. His price was excellent! They cleaned up and hauled away all that was necessary. I was very impressed. I would recommend him to anyone and already have.

The service and professionalism I was given was everything I had hoped for. Everyone was so helpful, from the knowledgeable technician that gave me my estimate and answered all of our questions down to the guys hauling away my old roof making sure no loose nails were left behind. I even got a chance to meet the owner Simon who personally stopped by to inspect the work and gave me a call after the job was completed. As I told him on that phone call, I couldn’t be happier with my experience and would definitely be recommending them to my friends and family. More contractors should have the approach to putting their customers first like the entire Experienced Roofers team does! Thanks again guys!

I had a leak where my addition was connected to the original house. Despite paying several roofers over the years to fix the problem, the problem would inevitably come back. I got 3 estimates and though they weren’t the cheapest, I felt renovation roofers would do the best job, fixing the problem once and for all. Once installation was completed we tested the new roof running a hose and are happy to say it’s leak free! Thanks for getting this sorted. Would recommend

My experience with these folks was just amazing. They really came through for us when we needed help with our torch-down flat roof that was seriously damaged by age and wind. We felt sincerely cared for by everyone from the office (thanks Michelle - couldn't have done it without you) to the roofers themselves (Brian and crew are the real deal). They got the job done in time for the next rain, and we couldn't be happier with the way it came out. Their workmanship was flawless, and they left our home cleaner than when they arrived. I highly recommend them, and am thankful to have found them.

I was selling my house and called Best Professional Roofing. Fausto came to inspect my house. He was courteous and respectful. He was honest and said I did not have any roofing issues but there were some parts that needed to be treated because of termites. I was thankful for his professional opinion. To top it all,he did not even charge me for the inspection. Highly recommend!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
