Coach Martinez is my powerlifting coach. I knew nothing about the sport and I didn't think I was ever going to compete, let alone wear a singlet. He helped build my confidence, believed in me, and prepared me for my first powerlifting meet. Well, I took 1st place and since then I have taken 1st place in my last 3 competitions. Training isn't easy, but Coach Martinez pushes you to your limits and tests your willpower. When everything's all said and done, winning sure does feel good! I'm privileged to have Coach Martinez as my coach! Oh and did I mention that he's also a State and World record holder powerlifter!
Justin is one of the most knowledgable personal trainers I have had the pleasure of getting to know and learn from. As a professional in the health field it was important to me to work with someone who understands the physiology of the body and could accommodate to my individual needs and goals. Justin is highly relatable and took the time to listen to and get to know what was important for me to achieve. Unlike the work of many other trainers I've seen, Justin had my best interests in mind at all times and was excellent at tailoring a client-specific program for diet and exercise that is unique, especially for me as a vegetarian. I have been active as an avid runner and did not need to make a drastic change, but I wanted a new challenge for myself to get stronger with strength training and he provided that. I felt myself getting stronger after just several weeks of working with Justin and that carried over into my work with my patients. At every session he was encouraging, motivating, varied the type of exercise, and safely forced me to push myself to a point I didn't think I could. He was accommodating to any minor injuries I had and adjusted the exercise regimens around them. Justin will provide the tools necessary to get to your goals, which you will, as long as you put in 100% effort on your end. It's hard work and he's with you along every step of the change. I highly recommend him to anyone at any point in their fitness journey! Had I not started training for another race I would have continued to work with Justin. I continue to implement the information learned from Justin in my daily life as I see fit and am extremely thankful to have had the pleasure to have him as my trainer.

I have trained with Tricia and Stu for a year now. Tricia is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of personal training, and if she's not sure of the answer to your question then she'll research. Tricia has taken my slow metabolism, from poor choices in a previous personal trainer with a terrible no-carb diet plan, to a poorly controlled thyroid disease; she has turned my metabolism and life right-side up. Tricia and Stu also helped to get me wins on competition stage in 2015, with 5th place in a NPC bikini competition and 2nd place in a NGA bikini competition. I am a 69 year old male, have been a resident of Kern County, and more specifically Bakersfield for 60+ years. I am a Professional Regional Sales Manager for a very large National Corporation in charge of 1004 West Coast Employees. Additionally, I am a Retired Army Lieutenant, a Veteran of Viet Nam, am in my late 60's, and I have always considered myself fit both physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My military and professional record this far suggests that is true. Recently, for relatively natural reasons, I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, and Hypertension. Additionally, a strain which occurred perhaps in basic training, got worse during my deployment and years of duck hunting, and most recently on the bench press, I have been diagnosed with a partially torn right shoulder rotator cuff. Also, I have had 2 surgeries to repair a torn ACL which was and is problematic from a fall that I took while on a Mud Run in 2012, and a re-tear in 2014 on the stairs at my 2nd home in the snow in my Tehachapi home. I came to The Health, Fitness, Diet and Wellness Doctor in October of 2016 even though I am an experienced gym member of 40 years, I go to the gym 4 to 5 X per week for nearly that entire time minus a couple of years for the injuries though I stayed active. I thought I was an expert in diet, weights, cardio, form and staying healthy as I am avid weight lifter, do a cardio appropriately, and have had a good diet, or so I thought, for the majority of my life. BOY, WAS I WRONG ABOUT A FEW KEY FACTORS WHICH MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. If you are an 8 cylinder, DOHC, 5.0L engine that is only running on 7 cylinders, you will absolutely lose all your performance, and your engine will fail within 50 miles. That was me. I was falling apart. I had to swallow my pride, and I had to seek help. I HAD TO HAVE THE HEALTH, FITNESS, DIET AND WELLNESS DOCTOR do a free consultation, decided to hire a Nutritionist as I had gained over 45 pounds, a personal trainer to help with fat loss, lean body mass gain, decreasing my body fat % which went from 12% to 27% in the last 5 years, and a LIFECOACH TO DEAL WITH THE DEPRESSION OF IT ALL. They are remarkable, a 10/10 in friendliness, availability, service, EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE, and they do a Beverly Hills-Malibu job with you in all these areas for KERN COUNTY RATES,...LITERALLY HALF OF WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT. Deborah Denio of Realign Fitness is an extremely competent and compassionate Physical Therapist who helped me rapidly recover from a severe back issue. Upon my recovery four years ago, she recommended that I begin a program of exercise and good eating habits. As a result, Deborah has also been my fitness trainer throughout this time. I initially lost over 30 lbs., gained muscle mass and tone, and have kept the weight off. I highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of Physical Therapy work, or as a general health and fitness trainer. I tell my friends that Deborah made my weight loss and general fitness improvements relatively effortless. She skillfully and cheerfully leads me through each workout session and I have fun in the process.
I was getting individual training and now I'm training in a small group. I had moderate to severe knee pain when I first started and now it's very minimal. I am enjoying this new experience, losing some weight, inches, down a dress size and eating better all because of my awesome trainer Derrick Jenkins!!
When you have a session with Phillip you feel motivated especially when those endorphins kick in. He pushes you out of comfort zone without over doing it. His movitation and high energy really make your session go quickly. He's a great trainer!
I am in okay shape for a 55 year old man but overweight (by about 30 lbs). I decided to look for a trainer who could train me not only to tone up, but help me with nutrition. Shane knows a ton about nutrition, and is a great weight trainer! He put me on the road to losing weight before he moved out of my area - I hope I can find someone else as good as him ( but I doubt it)!

Joe takes the time to analyze each runner's form and individual training to help the runner reach their optimal performance. I am really impressed with his expertise in integrating overall physical and mental strength, nutrition, and strategy. He gets to know his clients and builds upon their strengths while overcoming their weaknesses. My child has improved substantially since beginning training with Joe. He has been very dedicated and trustworthy and goes above and beyond what I see in most personal trainers. In my opinion, we could not have hired a better trainer.
Leo is very detail in his coaching & personal training sessions. I have been to other gyms in town & I can honestly say that you will not find coaching like this anywhere else. The Programming is geared towards strength. I have found a new self with becoming a memebers at his gym.
Christina definitely gives her Clients the extra push to pursue their ultimate goal. She is more than your average trainer. Christina is a soul healer! I adore her, I can’t say this enough. Although I’ve wanted to give up (countless times) she is always there to remind me of the “why” I started working out. I’d like to express that, Christina’s professionalism is beyond standard. She is very responsive to any questions I may have, in a timely manner. Weather it’s about food, excercise, or a pulled muscle. Which makes her very credible in her profession.
