I've been taking online guitar lessons on and off for years and Shawn is by far the best teacher I've had. Shawn is a great listener, has endless knowledge, and can tailor your lessons to any style of music you want to learn.

Great Teacher! His playing demonstrates a profound knowledge of his instrument. Whether hes teaching you new techniques, chords and inversions, different styles of playing, or the basics of music theory, the lessons are presented in a way tangible to the student. He is better than any guitar player I've seen, so he can take you to the next level if you are already good, or he can help you as a beginner like me.

We decided to chose Brian for my teenage daughter's beginning guitar lessons due to his willingness to teach her the type of songs that she wanted. Right away he connected with her and her music. He taught her the theory behind playing guitar as well as teaching her the tricks and skills of how to play the guitar. His practices were enjoyable and not just rote. She learned very quickly and therefore stayed excited about learning. Brian was always very complementary and encouraging. Brian also helped us buy useful equipment like a tuner, etc. She always felt safe and comfortable. We would highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.

I've been wanting to take guitar lessons for over a year after winning this great guild guitar and I haven't found anyone that I could really connect with. Took a few classes but from day one I didn't feel a connection and to me thats the most important thing. Day one with Ricky was great. We discussed the different kinds of music that I wanted to play and he even asked to listen to some of my favorite songs to get an idea of my style and we started immediately. It's only been about two months and I can already play a good handful of songs and my confidence has gone up tremendously. I think anyone who's interested in playing guitar should check Ricky out. He also has deals on his rates if you pay in advance. Dalmasy

Chris is an amazing teacher. He really doesn’t like to mess around. Learning how to play the guitar is not an easy task at all, but after just a few lessons with Chris I can guarantee that you’ll feel more confident in your ability.

Mike is super cool and very patient, i've been playing for over 30 years. 2 years of classical guitar, a whole life of playing by ear, I played in a rock band and a punk band, studied heavy metal lead guitar (years of scale study), I changed my genre to rockabilly and swing during these years. I stopped play after a move to LA, I was diagnosed with cancer and went through radiation therapy, during my rehab I unpacked my gear and started playing again. I started listening to country blues, gypsy jazz, western swing, and blue grass. My wonderful wife enrolled me into Artisticworks Academy of Bluegrass (Flat picking). I got deep into the realms of the music surrounding this style of music and found that I loved the rhythm parts of this music and fell in love with this wonderful back beat!!! I searched the Internet for months and only found the solo and finger picking style of this genre. After months of frustration looking for tabs or anything that would lead me down this path. I decided to seek out instructors in my area and thumbtack popped up with several qualified instructors, after a few weeks of thought and trying to figure out the the chord progressions by ear I decided to contact Mike, and in these last few weeks of continued frustration the clouds are starting to clear, Mike is leading me down the path of music theory. Mike can see my frustration learning this and assures me everything will be make complete sense in no to time 150,000 percent!!! I have learned so much in 3 week then I have in over 25 years of hardcore jamming (believe me I rocked the metal) this new genre is so opposite of what I know and he sees this and helps me work work with my frustration. If you are looking for an excellent instructor this is the dude!!! Thanks Mike!!!

I took guitar lessons from Craig once a week for six months. I liked the way the way he set up his Skype camera so I could watch his fingers as he was showing me different chords and scales. I found Craig to be very knowledgeable about all kinds of music and had great answers to my various questions. His personality is very outgoing and entertaining and that made the lessons fun. I would highly recommend Craig to anyone.

I've been trying to learn the guitar for years and it just never clicked. I've taken lessons from places such as Guitar Center and though they were ok, it just felt like they were reading from a script and progress was slow to say the least. Alan has a unique way of making the theory make sense and he makes it as interesting as playing the guitar. I've never enjoyed learning the guitar as much as I have since I started taking lessons with him and I will continue to do so for as long as he'll let me be one of his students!!! I couldn't see taking lessons from anyone else at this point and if you really want to learn to play the guitar, he's the best person for the job!!!!!

I took guitar lessons with Stephan for about 6 months before I moved away from Los Angeles. I was a beginner who had tried to teach myself the acoustic guitar for a few years prior, but I never progressed very far until I started taking lessons with Stephan. I enjoyed the style of his lessons, in that I could choose what songs I wanted to learn and therefore actually want to practice them on my own, while at the same time learning theory that Stephan would weave into lessons. Stephan was great at coming up with the best approach for me to learn any song of my choice for my skill level, while also allowing me to learn new techniques. I was impressed that he was able to figure out how to play songs from a wide range of genres that I chose, and he was really able to pack a lot of information into a 30 minute lesson. I accomplished everything that I wanted from our lessons these past months (e.g. learning different strum patterns, building up a repertoire of songs to play for friends). Stephan is very energetic, positive, patient, and kind, plus it was always very enjoyable to listen to him play. I highly recommend Stephan for guitar lessons!

I've had a handful of music teachers throughout my life and Dory is head and shoulders above the rest. He has a knack for explaining the concepts of music theory with great clarity and enthusiasm. In addition to his proficiency at playing and teaching music, Dory is also very well-organized and attentive. His lessons are focused and purposeful. If you're at all thinking of learning piano, guitar, or music in general I cannot recommend Dory enough!

Sim is my son's Guitar teacher and has been teaching him for the last 6 months. My 8 year old son is very fond of his teacher as he makes lessons interesting and child friendly. All his curious questions are dealt intelligently by Sim making it easy for my son to understand and enable him to grasp the skills required for his guitar lessons. I highly recommend Sim's working style as his approach is professional as well as personalised to meet the needs of his client.

Max is a great guitar teacher. Right from the get-go he was flexible, friendly and seemed to get what I needed as a musician. I've had lessons in the past where it was either boring (music theory) or too scatterbrained for me to connect all the dots. Max has a way of zoning in on what you need specifically at the moment and tailoring the lesson toward that. I don't think you can find a better deal in Los Angeles.

There are great guitar players who teach, but not all of them are great teachers. That's what Scot is. I took lessons from Scot for about 6 months, and I know things that seasoned guitar players don't know. I know where notes are, I know scales, and I know the entire map of the fret board. The basic stuff that everyone should know, not just "put your fingers here and strum". Because of that I can play bar chords, power chords, and I have a solid base for how far I want to take my playing. Highly recommend.

Erik will teach you any song or solo you want to learn and will not need any notice before the lesson. He will listen to the solo right infront of you and transcribe note-for-note on paper and then teach it to you making it simple and breaking it down into sections. The best way to improve your guitar is to learn the solos of your favorite artists. I've had several teachers since I dicided to take up guitar again and he is bar none the best! Not just because he's able to articulate and give you very structured lessons with hand written notes that will eliminate the guess work later, he's also the best because he's a very nice guy and you won't feel awkward to go for a lick and mess up! Even though the guy you're playing with (Erik) is 10 times better then you! Quick side note, I accepted a long time ago that would never learn the modes (greek scale system for soloing to different styles of music), every other teacher (some who didn't know them and some who did) could not explain it and felt like I would have to learn a 100 scales so I ignored them. Erik taught me them and I can solo in any mode and in any key with ease, it took about 8 weeks, lessons once a week and during those lessons I still walked away with a complete solo to learn each time. Taking lessons is not just about investing in yourself and in your playing. You need to find a great teacher, Erik is the man!

Dave is an excellent teacher and guitar player. I have been taking lessons from him for a number of years. When I first began taking lessons from him, I had no experience and could not play at all or read tab, but he taught me how to play both rhythm and lead guitar and how to play many rock/pop songs. More recently, I have been learning classical guitar and how to read sheet music. Learning this aspect of guitar has been more difficult, but Dave is always very helpful and knowledgeable about what I am studying. I would highly recommend Dave’s services to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar.

Five years ago, when my daughters were 6 and 8 years old, they received guitars for Christmas. They had one lesson at a local guitar store, but the teacher talked to them as if they were adults and the information went way over their heads. They were frustrated and lost. Then, we found Aaron and everything changed. His love for guitar and teaching shined through, from the moment we walked in the door. Aaron's teaching methods and personality were perfect. My little girls were hooked and couldn't wait until their lessons each week. They were motivated to practice and excited to perform at the end of each session. The pace at which they excelled was astounding. With Aaron's background in so many genres, they could experiment with different styles of music. When they turned 10 and 12 years of age, they decided that they wanted to audition for our local art school's guitar program. Aaron worked with them on their classical audition pieces over the months and they were both accepted! Now they are 11 and 13 years old and are still in love with guitar. They continue to attend the art school in the guitar program, perform all over the place and even enjoy practicing. Having a successful learning experience early on is so important and Aaron played a big part in that. We highly recommend Aaron as a guitar teacher for any age.

Im doing one hour lessons weekly, split 30 minutes of guitar lessons and 30 minutes of voice lessons. I wanted to learn how to play and sing together and so far it's been such a great expierence with Trey. He is very professional and fun to learn from. I went from knowing no music theory whatsoever to being able to understand basic chords which has been really exciting!

Daryl is great with kids! I've been taking lessons from him for a few months, and recently got him to give my 10 year old nephew a lesson. My nephew is so excited about guitar and motivated to learn, and is already playing simple chords and songs. My nephew and I look forward to continuing with Daryl.

It would be really great if you could help me get what's in my head to come out of the guitar! I'd like someone willing to listen to some of my originals that I've had others play & basically teach me my own songs as well as help me improve the songs I currently play & sing simply. You can get an idea of my songs on reverbnation search krystinekylls It may not come across, but I want to have a southern influenced, funky sound that would be just as welcome on the pop station as the alt rock & indie. Like wrangle a badass psychedelic jam into a soulful indie rock song with the simplicity needed for the dancing masses ala the black keys, but more ..uhhh musicianship? Infuences: The Band, CCR, Lynrd Synrd, P Funk, Jimi, White Stripes, FRANZ FERDINAND, Muse, BB King, Robert Johnson etc etc I'm looking to do this at least once a week & hoping that I can maybe pay in advance for a discount, trying to keep the cost below $150/month
