My experience with Will and LessonLodge has been great. For the past few months, I've been taking guitar lessons and it has been the highlight of my week. I've always noodled around, but I've already learned to write some basic songs in a short time.

We chose Emo to work with my 11 year old daughter via Skype for voice lessons. She was really nervous to have her very first voice lesson over Skype, and with a stranger, but Emo quickly put her at ease. He’s patient, encouraging, positive, and also really uses the 30 minutes fully. He wasn’t the cheapest vocal coach to respond to my thumbtack but he really knows what he’s doing and maximizes the 30 minute lesson. My daughter is really happy with him as her teacher and so am I!

I have been taking guitar lessons from Kimberly via Skype for about six years. I really like her teaching style which is systematic and focused. She tailors her lessons to my goals and time. Her teaching method is to help you gain insight and skill through patient practice of gradually changing exercises. She doesn't snow you with theory, but presents it to you in digestible amounts just when it will make sense. She welcomes questions and I always learn from our discussions. She has led me to learn techniques on the guitar that I was absolutely sure I could never learn. For something to seem impossible at the start, to seem possible a week later and to be routine a month later is amazingly uplifting. Kimberly's background was first a life of teaching herself and playing gigs with all kinds of bands in all kinds of places. She has also deepened and strengthened her knowledge by gaining academic degrees in guitar and jazz and also by studying under masters. This gives her an incredibly deep understanding of learning and teaching music, an immense skill in playing guitar, and an appreciation for the challenges of playing with other people. I especially love her continued enthusiasm for guitar and that she really enjoys teaching. I have found in Kimberly the best of teachers and highly recommend her without reservation.

Highly Impressed! We’re highly impressed by the first lesson! It was an excellent start. Our instructor Chelsea quickly figured out how to connect with my son, invoking an excitement to learn the basics as well as the fun parts. My son expressed the desire to have longer lessons coming up, which says it all!

Nolan is a consummate professional, both with his drumming skills and his demeanor. He is able to be firm enough with my 10 year old son (who thinks life revolves around video games), yet never overbearing. This is perfect for a kid with a short attention span! I appreciate the way he challenges my son and encourages him at the same time. I have been a life long musicians playing guitar and singing for over 25 years, and with all the drummers I know, if I was going to take drum lessons I would want to take them from Nolan!

Before I brought my three-year-old son to Shawn for drum lessons, we'd had a lot of experience working together on gigs and in the studio. He's an excellent drummer and a forward-thinking musician. All I can say I that Shawn had a really uncanny way of connecting my son. He knew exactly what to say and do to get Z to listen and understand some basic concepts of playing drums AND music. A lesson that I had expected to last 15 minutes stretched into two hours of focussed learning by my son. It was kind of mind-blowing. I was really not expecting such a connection and level of communication. I can only imagine that he is able to do this at an even higher level with students of all ages. I couldn't recommend Shawn any higher. Just stop reading this and book a lesson with him. Go!

I’d been wanting to learn how to play drums since high school but just never got around to it. A friend recommended Geo highly and I finally bit the bullet and started lessons. I am so glad I did!!! Geo is such a great teacher — really patient, and responsive to my needs as a student. I work full time and Geo is always flexible. I am also not as young as I used to be and not a fast learner, but Geo is super patient and is always coming up with exercises and pieces to learn that are more my speed. He’s also so fun and just a cool dude — 10/10 recommend!!!

I first met Ron Robertson while he was the drummer for Saddleback Church. I knew his wife, as we were both volunteers for Saddleback’s Kids Ministry. Ron also taught kids how to play the drums during the summer music sessions put on by Saddleback Church. Our son was around 10 years old when he learned to play “smoke on the water” from Ron in one of those summer sessions. He learned in just a few weeks. He was so excited. After that my son began taking private drum lessons from Ron on a weekly basis at his home studio. Ron helped my son become very proficient on the drum kit. He taught our son for approximately 4 years. In that time my son was the lead percussionist in his Junior High Band. His precision of the beat and the counting of rhythms were due to the teachings of Ron. Ron has an extensive knowledge of drum skills & techniques to share with his students. In high school, my son began playing in a band and went back to Ron for some pointers to brush up on his skills. Ron is a very likable guy and did a great job teaching my son the drums. If time had allowed my son would have continued drum lessons with Ron.

When I arrived NYC, I was looking for a vocal coach who would help me overcome some vocal challenges that I was facing, especially in my passagio. I am a high tenor, so high notes have never been a challenge, but surprisingly, the challenge was being my middle upper range, right where the change to head voice happens. Previous vocal lessons did not help me to solve this problem. Sean, with patience, care, deep knowledge and an incredible ear, helped me deconstruct my vocal technique so I would understand my challenges and the reasons underlying my vocal challenges. He truly showed that he understood what I was going through! He also helped me spot and combat bad vocal habits I had acquired through the years. While singing well and keeping your voice healthy is a job that never stops, he has provided me with the tools to move forward as a singer and keep the good path. I am even thinking of going back to the studio and put out new music soon! Every time I walk out of a lesson with Sean I feel like I am singing better than ever, and I cannot wait to work with him again in the future. I am sure that If you do work with him, you will feel the same way. Thank You Sean!!

My son began taking drum lessons with Lindsay via skype at 6 years old. He will be 9 next month and is still loving his drum lessons. He has learned so much in such a short period of time. Not only is Lindsay clearly a skilled drummer but is also an apt teacher. She is patient while pushing my son to improve his skills. I know from personal experience that learning an instrument can be frustrating to the point that the student will want to give up. This is especially true for a kid. Lindsay understands this and has the ability to balance progress with patience. I highly recommend Lindsay as a drum teacher!

He focuses on making you a better musician and not just a stick spinning rock star- but he can do that if that's what you are going for. Great lessons to keep your mind and body in rhythm.

I took some guitar/drum lesson from Sam over the summer break for about a month. Even though it was a very short time having lessons from him, I've learned not only about music in general but also how fun it is to play music. I would take more lessons from him if I had any other chance to do so :)

I went into their studio to simply lay down a few guitar ideas for some songs I was writing. I mentioned how I heard drum parts in my head to go with my guitars but I don't play drums. The audio engineer suggested I "beat box" my drum ideas and he tracked exactly what I had in mind. I came back home with a legit sounding demo to show my peers in hopes of forming a band. Overall great experience. Would definitely recommend. Great atmosphere, good time!

hey what up :) my name's jessica. im 30 years old, have no drumming experience. i am a broke ass, in rehab for pain pills after a mountain biking accident succeeded in cavin part of my face in. i still gotta knock out one more reconstructive surgery but i am faithful to my recovery and am taking the steps necessary to start taking back my life and getting it together. i am a broke ass, with a little bit of income but im out here in escondido @ north escondido blvd. @ a place called serenity house. i have a little bit of free time on my hands and i find myself getting extremely restless and wanting to drum on shit when i get antsy and people's personalities start getting on my nerves. I live with 80 other women and we are around each other all the time all day. we have a very strict schedule and just a little free time. i have a little experience with piano and im a decent singer and music is the one outlet I have used to try to make it through 6 months in this place. I am here by choice, have never been to prison, and I like to think I am a decent person who's really given her heart and soul and dedication into staying sober and growing up. i don't know how to go about starting @ the drums and so i debated trying to hire someone to teach my dumb ass with just some basics, so I can see if I really have it in me to become disciplined in doing something other than drugs. i don't know if buying a drum pad is what people do, or if it's a practice pad or what beginner books are good. I really really would appreciate any input you might have since I doubt I can afford lessons right now, but have mad respect for your skills and your healthy contribution to the betterment of society through love of music. Thanks so much and props for your talent! :) Jessica Whitney
