We chose Emo to work with my 11 year old daughter via Skype for voice lessons. She was really nervous to have her very first voice lesson over Skype, and with a stranger, but Emo quickly put her at ease. He’s patient, encouraging, positive, and also really uses the 30 minutes fully. He wasn’t the cheapest vocal coach to respond to my thumbtack but he really knows what he’s doing and maximizes the 30 minute lesson. My daughter is really happy with him as her teacher and so am I!

Guitar and drum lessons. James is amazing. Personable, easy going, and professional. Teaches according to student's abilities and desires. Can learn any song you want to learn and then show you in a manner you can handle.

I've been taking guitar lessons with Kimberly since the beginning of 2011. At the time I'd had several years of lessons using a traditional method on acoustic guitar and was looking for a teacher who could help me focus on electric blues rock and move me beyond my intermediate skill level. Kimberly has a real focus on and talent for teaching. My lessons are tailored to meet my interests. A large part of the lesson is devoted to learning her method for blues soloing--at least 5 approaches to improvisation and comping. After several years, I've come to see how these approaches interweave, complement each other and have become an intuitive part of my musical vocabulary. Also, because I expressed an interest, part of the lesson involves sight reading, learning blues and jazz theory, developing rhythmic playing sense, and learning a few favorite solos. Kimberly has an amazing ability to tab out and teach any song you give her. Which leads to the best part--after 6 months I was invited to play with one of her ensemble classes. While I was absolutely petrified with fear at the beginning, this has turned into one of the highlights of my week every week. It is just downright fun! It's a safe and forgiving environment where you can make mistakes and learn, or try things out that might flop, or turn into something cool. Every teacher and guitar magazine article all point to the need to play with other musicians to develop your skills and this is where Kimberly Allison really delivers. I feel that I could now sit in with other musicians and contribute. I give my highest recommendation for taking lessons with Kimberly.

I wanted to start drum lessons in the area and didn't know where to start. A friend mentioned and recommended Stefano. He's a great teacher and definitely knows his stuff. His experience has allowed me to go at my own pace while integrating theory he's taught me and implementing them in my drum playing.

I started taking drum lessons later in life as I've always wanted to learn. After a great birthday present from a friend I started lessons with Mike. He is great at listening to what I wanted to learn and was very, very patient with me. I've always had trouble reading music but he taught me in no time and made the lessons very fun and interesting. He let me pick the songs I wanted to learn and he would even play along to help me get it right! Mike is a very talented drummer, musician and teacher. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in learning the drums, he'll have you playing in no time!!

Nolan has training and experience in several areas of music, but I'm glad that he has a passion for teaching. He understands that people take lessons for different reasons and have individual ambitions. I have found that Nolan’s priority is to identify these goals; to see that his students progress and have fun while they are learning. He gives my daughter constant, constructive feedback during her drum lessons, and works to teach and challenge her. He is always patient and positive, and wants to know that he is helping her achieve her goals. Nolan is professional and reliable, and my daughter is fortunate to be one of his students!

I’d been wanting to learn how to play drums since high school but just never got around to it. A friend recommended Geo highly and I finally bit the bullet and started lessons. I am so glad I did!!! Geo is such a great teacher — really patient, and responsive to my needs as a student. I work full time and Geo is always flexible. I am also not as young as I used to be and not a fast learner, but Geo is super patient and is always coming up with exercises and pieces to learn that are more my speed. He’s also so fun and just a cool dude — 10/10 recommend!!!

My son started formal drum lessons with Steve two and a half years ago. Steve set the bar on professionalism, flexibility, communication, and has the patience to teach music to younger kids. My son went from a kid banging on a toy drum, to a musician that could play drum set rhythms in an elementary school jazz band. We've had other instructors since Steve left the Los Alamitos area but none of them compared to his high level of attributes listed earlier.

Ken is an excellent teacher. He taught my son, JT, guitar lessons for about 3 years. Ken is very patient and motivational, which was very necessary as my son was quite young at the time, . He has an incredible way of connecting with his students.. Ken was able to make the lesson fun for my son and focused on the kind of music JT liked to play. I would recommend Ken to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar!

My son and daughter have had piano lessons with Cheri from Middle C Music for over a year, the past few months over Skype. We have had a terrific experience. My kids are very different, my daughter has autism and does not speak much and my son can get anxious, but Cheri is incredibly patient and works with both kids at their level. She goes out of her way to engage them with the music and works with them to select music they are interested in.

Jeffery is the best. I always had so much fun during my lessons with him and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn the drums. He’ll tailor the lesson and his teaching method for whatever works best for the student. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. 5 stars all the way.

hey what up :) my name's jessica. im 30 years old, have no drumming experience. i am a broke ass, in rehab for pain pills after a mountain biking accident succeeded in cavin part of my face in. i still gotta knock out one more reconstructive surgery but i am faithful to my recovery and am taking the steps necessary to start taking back my life and getting it together. i am a broke ass, with a little bit of income but im out here in escondido @ north escondido blvd. @ a place called serenity house. i have a little bit of free time on my hands and i find myself getting extremely restless and wanting to drum on shit when i get antsy and people's personalities start getting on my nerves. I live with 80 other women and we are around each other all the time all day. we have a very strict schedule and just a little free time. i have a little experience with piano and im a decent singer and music is the one outlet I have used to try to make it through 6 months in this place. I am here by choice, have never been to prison, and I like to think I am a decent person who's really given her heart and soul and dedication into staying sober and growing up. i don't know how to go about starting @ the drums and so i debated trying to hire someone to teach my dumb ass with just some basics, so I can see if I really have it in me to become disciplined in doing something other than drugs. i don't know if buying a drum pad is what people do, or if it's a practice pad or what beginner books are good. I really really would appreciate any input you might have since I doubt I can afford lessons right now, but have mad respect for your skills and your healthy contribution to the betterment of society through love of music. Thanks so much and props for your talent! :) Jessica Whitney
