Great job, food to die for, flexible and able to work the deliver around a surprise birthday party. Even brought an extra unseasoned Mack & cheese dish for young children in attendance without even being asked. Guests were very impressed.

On December 23, 2015 approximately 40 Earlimart Seniors participated in its annual Christmas Dinner. Chef Albert and his sous chef prepared a delicious and nutricious meal. The seniors were very pleased with the meal as many "mmm's" and "this is gooood" were heard from the people seated at the tables. Chef Albert prepared a very tender roastbeef, so tender it melted in your mouth. He also introduced our seniors to eating kale. Rounding out the meal was a crisp green salad with cranberries and walnuts, mashed potatoes and dessert. The chefs were very gracious with the seniors - talking and mingling with them and even taking pictures. Everyone left with a smile on their face and a delicious meal in their tummy! We are looking forward to our next meal with Chef Albert- who is innovative and still provides a very satisfying meal. Kudos Chef !

I can't speak to the food itself because we ultimately decided on a different style of cuisine for our wedding, but I appreciate David's flexibility and responsiveness when speaking with me and answering my many questions. He has been a pleasure to work with.

Rachel was very professional. She did whatever we asked her to do and more. Rachel took on the challenge to cut up a whole roasted pig. She did a beautiful job and was able to display the meat in a clever way. Rachel is a up and coming chef in this area. Do not hesitate to hire Rachel and her staff for your next party, you won't be sorry.

Mimi recently organized a Halloween themed party at our home for 60 people. I cannot express just how wonderful Mimi was! Both her and her staff were so professional, and went out of their way to make our party special. Mimi worked with me every step of the day, and always asked my approval before purchasing anything. She included me in all of the planning, which made it really very special. The day of the party, everything went off without a hitch, and the party was perfect! I can't believe how many compliments we received, and so many people asked for Mimi's information because they were so impressed! Mimi also kept in great communication with me, and e-mail, texted and called constantly to make sure I was kept in the loop. I had no surprises, and was just blown away at what an amazing job she did. I have never seen a party so beautifully decorated…Mimi has such a great talent for this!! If we ever decide to have another party, Mimi will be the first person we call! Not only has she become out party planner of choice, but she has also become a family friend. She has a wonderful heart and outstanding talent. I would highly recommend her for all of your party planning needs!!

I requested for a pastry chef to make cookies and cupcakes for the Super Bowl- Keri sent me a quote and made amazing goodies! I wanted them to be Seahawks themed and she hand decorated all of the cookies with their logo. Everyone loved them and the cookies were way bigger than expected. Thanks again!

They are the Truth! Chefs and owners Roger and Dee are my new go to caterers! Their warm, and friendly staff were extremely pro! I've been put in charge of a few company events before but NEVER has the food tasted this good! I mean ultimately that's what it comes down to is the food. They definitely love what they do and it shows. The best part of the day for me was when my boss waved at me from across the way to get my attention. Then he pointed at his plate and gave me a very enthusiastic thumbs up! That's never happened before. Three D Catering are the best!

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

How much does it cost to hire a caterer?

Catering prices depend mainly on how fancy you want the food and service to be and how many guests you’ll have. When you’re first looking to hire a caterer for your event, consider how many guests you’ll have and your total food and drink budget. The national average for event catering is $340, but catering prices can range into the thousands depending on your menu, guest count, and service.

Event catering is a broad term that covers everything from fully prepared, ready-to-eat food that the hosts plate and serve themselves to full-service, multicourse meals, including rental of linens, glassware and other items, with service staff organized by the catering company. Usually a caterer will determine cost based on the type of event you’re having, how many guests will attend, the level of service you desire, and what type of menu you’d like to have. For example, if you have a set catering budget, say $1,500, and you plan to have 50 people attend, that means you have $30 per person for food. If you have the same budget with 100 people, you have $15 per person for food. In this way, the number of people you want to attend your event and the level of food you want to serve them determines how much catering will cost.

How much should catering cost per person?

Catering prices can range from about $10 per guest on the low end to $150 or more per person on the high end. Catering costs represent the quality of food, presentation, variety, ingredients and service. But catering prices are more than the cost to cook the food that will be at your party; they also include the cost for the company to do business. Here is a simple breakdown of catering prices:

        • Menu: The food you serve your guests will directly affect the price per person. Organic ingredients, complex recipes, elaborate presentations, or high-ticket items like lobster or filet mignon all add to the cost.
        • Service: Buffet, family style, plated dinners — how you serve the food affects the cost per person. For example, a true plated meal can cost about twice the price of a staff-assisted buffet because of staffing costs. Hiring waiters, bartenders and cleanup crew will all be calculated into the per-person catering price.
        • Drinks: Providing beverages and alcoholic drinks for guests greatly increases your catering budget. Hosting an open bar can cost as much per person as the meal.
        • Rentals: Seating, plates, glassware, etc., will all have an effect on the cost per person for catering. For example, a plastic conference table that seats 10 costs about $6 to rent on average, while a wooden farmhouse table is about $80 to rent on average.
        • Business costs: Any catering cost will also include the cost for the company to do business such as insurance, employee wages, commercial kitchen space and more.
