We wanted to schedule a cooking lesson as a birthday gift for our 17 year old son, who says he would like to attend culinary school after he receives a PhD in Chemistry, and Chef Rocco was truly a perfect match! Throughout the entire process (interviewing, scheduling, and instructing) Chef Rocco was friendly and attentive, and his calm and organized style set the tone for a very relaxing yet educational session of making pasta (and a sauce, of course!) from scratch. He continuously made sure that each of us had ample time and opportunity to practice every skill that he demonstrated. He provided both specific and practical guidance, and he delivered limited but valuable critique in a very kind, thoughtful, and encouraging way. While he instructed and engaged each of us in making the recipes, Chef Rocco not only tailored the lesson to our son's interest (and our goals for the session) but also treated our son as if he was already on his way to becoming a chef. Whether it is true remains unseen, but Chef Rocco clearly understands the essence and effect of good teaching. As for the homemade fettuccini pasta with fresh vegetable sauce? Magnifico! It was so good that we ordered the pasta attachments for our Kitchen-Aid mixer!
Great food and great experience. The two chefs working our holiday party couldn't have been kinder or more patient. Everyone loved the food, and the boss told me after they left that she would like to bring them back again next year. Thank you for a lovely experience!
Elizabeth is very reliable, knowledgable, and hardworking. She finds creative ways to alter recipes to my dietary requirements, and is always open to new recipe options. She tries to fit our schedule and is a pleasant person to have in our home!!!
GREAT SERVICE We got married yesterday and had to post a review immediately because Affordable Chef was so great! Chef Mark was punctual in replying to my questions before the big day, which, as an out-of-town bride, was very reassuring! At the last minute, Chef Mark was unable to attend the reception, but his on-site chef made delicious food, and the staff were phenomenal! There was one staff member in particular who took an interest in my Husband and I. She told us that we were her "celebrities for the day," made sure we ate appetizers before we walked in, escorted us to the buffet first, and was constantly checking on our drinks. She also took an interest in our families, leading many people to tell us how amazing she was! The bartender Chef Mark sent was also lovely, knew her stuff, and made our signature cocktails perfectly! All in all, a great experience and a company we would trust our next big event to!

It is a pleasure to recommend Anita Alicea, who worked for our family for three and a half years. I will focus on her her excellent skills planning, shopping for, and preparing meals for us, which she did twice a week. (She was also responsible and valuable on occasions my wife needed help with her office work and driving to medical appointments.) Anita is a consummate professional. Before she started, she reviewed the many dietary constraints our family has: my son has an unusual range of food allergies, and my wife practices a gluten-free, low-sodium diet. She has without exception honored these constraints, and still managed to cook consistently terrific meals: balanced, attractively presented, and tasty. I just reviewed emails Ive sent to compliment her; there have been so many things we have really enjoyed. Heres a sample: Consistently good tossed salads; rice and potatoes always to perfection; chops, sauerkraut, soups, roasts, mushrooms, salmon, brussel sprouts, barbecued ribs, bok choy, carrots, cabbage, other veggies; amazing sauces, insanely great brisket, cosmic corned beef (quoting myself). Furthermore, Anita is responsible; she missed hardly any days for any reason. She is also flexible, e.g., adapting quickly to changes in our needs when for example one or the other of our now young adult children were out of town for extended times. I have had the privilege to experience Rosann’s expertise in nutritious, plant-based meals on a daily basis that are better than you can buy in a restaurant. Her knowledge and creativity in combining the most healthy ingredients with the appropriate herbs and spices contribute to dishes that are as appetizing as they are nourishing. This demonstrates her core philosophy of food as medicine. She makes use of her knowledge of the benefit of every ingredient as it fits into a complete and nutritious, daily diet. I am constantly introduced to meals that are as visually appealing as they are delicious and nutritious. She is continually enhancing her awareness of what constitutes the everyday things that not only are what I put into myself, but what I put on or around myself. She is constantly amazing me by pointing out the harmful things that are allowed into products we buy off the shelves. You can often find her scanning the ingredient list of items on the store shelves to increase her awareness of what should and shouldn’t be purchased. Without Rosann, I would be unknowingly, repeatedly harming myself with substances that are otherwise known to be the source of other people’s chronic illnesses. Such things are no longer in my house, and I am the better for it.
Anna is a delight. She accomodated my desire to create the menu for an elegant dinner party for 8, and made great suggestions to add to it. She's very professional and planned well so that the dinner was served right on time. The flavors were wonderful and the presentation beautiful. What a treat it was to enjoy my own party and have the cleanup done for me. She even handwashed my china and silverware. I'll have her back as soon as I plan another party.

I'm a bit smitten by the fact how easy and fun Nicholas makes cooking seem. Upon request, I asked him to prepare me a meal that is nutritious, yet low in calories but also easy to cook in order to fit into my busy schedule. He offered to provide beforehand all ingredients - which was much appreciated - as well as helpful hindsight during cooking what to look for when using fresh local goods and produce from farmer's markets. Overall it was a great experience meeting Nicholas, watching him cook and teaching me how to prepare a healthy meal, which collaborates well with my current diet and fitness lifestyle - definitely an experience worth trying out!.
