When my son (9 yr old boy) expressed to me he wanted to be a contestant on Chopped Jr. I made it my goal to get him prepared. I contacted Traveling Chef and immediately my son's goals became a his goals as well. Travis arrived on time, and was very detailed when explaining how to pick produce and meats. Like many 9 yr old boys it's usually hard to keep him focused, however he was engaged from start to finish. Travis was very patient and allowed my son to be very hands on which made for an excellent lesson. The food was amazing, my son was very proud of his accomplishments, and he left the kitchen spotless. I can't wait until my son's next lesson. Every mom should take a day off and allow dinner to be prepared by their children and Chef Travis.
I planned a personal cooking lesson for my boyfriend's birthday, and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Chef Keith took time to get to know exactly what we were looking for, and he was flexible in creating our personalized 3 course menu. He showed up to my house on time, and was prepared with all of the food and cooking tools. He even cleaned up afterwards and left my kitchen spotless. The food was amazing! Chef Keith is very knowledgable about cooking. I would highly recommend hiring Chef Keith! It was absolutely worth it!!
Chef L, came in to a very difficult situation and did great. Chef L gave my son and I private cooking lessons which went great, it was a great experience for both of us. It is allowing me to have something to connect with my son with since sports are not his thing. I really recommend Chef L, the food was great and his ability to simplify everything allowed us to truly enjoy ourselves.
I am very impressed with Annabel's work! She not only baked the most artistic cake, but also delicious! I ordered 3 cakes from her last October 7 and each one was unique, creative, and delicious. Annabel listened to my needs and also added her own personal touch to the cakes. She was very responsive, professional, and just went above and beyond. The cakes were a little pricey compared to your regular bakery or store bought cake but it's worth every penny. The 3 cakes that I ordered were customized and one cake was a bit complicated due to allergies but I was willing to pay for the extra price. I am a happy customer and I will surely order again from Annabel Sweet Novelette Cake. And you should too!
Elaine helped my daughter and I with cooking lessons and menu ideas that would work with both of our dietary issues. We spent an afternoon together - through the magic of web cams. We prepared a vegetable lasagna, a spinach and strawberry salad, the most amazing miso soup ever and a squash and edamame treat that was out of this world. The dishes we prepared were made from fresh, organic ingredients that were gluten free, light on salt and most importantly quick and easy to prepare in our busy schedules. Elaine took every culinary and dietary issue of ours and came back with brilliant solutions. Elaine is knowledgeable and approachable with the ability to communicate what she knows without being preachy. I've ordered the Herblends seasonings, and she also has a cookbook. I'm very impressed her knowledge and abilities make great food and show us how she does it.
Chef Jay is such an amazing warm and kind spirit. Her food is prepared with love, and you can taste it! We have monthly cooking lessons with my son and myself and he LOVES it! Jay takes a fun scientific approach to explaining food, often giving my son the tips and tricks he needs to create all types of cool things like parmesan cheese foam and teaching him how to make rainbow mozzarella cheese for his homemade pizzas - something he found beyond amazing. I enjoy the variety she offers - vegetarian dishes for me and kid-friendly gluten free meals for my son. She has taught me so much about preparing food for my boy that he can safely eat and enjoy without getting bored, and for that I am grateful. If you'd like flavor-filled food and a chef who has the patience of a saint, you'll for sure find that in Jay. Oh yea, ask her to make her amazing fried mac & cheese!
I had the pleasure of learning from Laura last weekend. I consider myself an experienced cook and I'm grateful to report I learned new techniques, recipes, and cooking tips from Laura! Not only did she thoughtfully provide cooking advice prior to our first lesson, but she additionally considered all my health requests when I expressed a desire to continue learning "clean" cooking. I am an avid weight lifter and fitness instructor and I explained to Laura that I am very conscious about how I cook (i.e. cooking without salt, eating very lean protein meat/fish, etc.). I cook every single meal for myself and meal prep on weekends in order to weigh out all my portions before the beginning of my week. Laura modified several recipes to adhere to the guidelines I outlined for her and even gave me suggestions for sauces, curries and cooking techniques I could use in future meal planning. Laura was also aware I am in the process of moving to another country and she used her knowledge of the specific country's culture to recommend several cooking items I could purchase to maximize my ability to cook with variety yet within budget. Laura went above and beyond my expectations by applying her knowledge and expertise to best advise me on cooking techniques I can use both in the U.S. and when I move abroad, shared her passion for cooking and piqued my interest in expanding my cooking repertoire. I highly recommend Laura for cooking lessons, meal preparation and special events.
I have had Will's cooking on a numerous of different occasions. And I must say Will has a real talent in the kitchen! He can make almost anything from scratch or make things that you don't think will taste good turn out to taste wonderful! My favorite dish he made was a chicken dish with a load of different seasonings. Every bite I had was so moist and tasty (in a good way)! I would highly recommend to try Will's cooking, at least once, you would not be sorry and definitely be pleasantly surprised with how flavorful his dishes taste. :)
Had my first at-home lesson today. Michelle is a kind, polite, well-humored chef who teaches well. The meal we prepared together was simply delicious. Didn't know I had it in me but Michelle did! Salivating in anticipation of my next cooking lesson with her next week.
I came here with a friend for cupcakes and tea. I loved that the cupcakes were small and we could each try a variety of flavors. The cupcakes were so cute and tasted great with the tea. The frosting wasn't too sweet, like other cupcake shops. We sat in the back room and the atmosphere was nice. The service was also great; we never needed to ask for anything. I only wish the front area had more room for customers who aren't holding events.
Chef Lyon is fantastic! I learned so much from my private lessons. He led me through the cooking basics step by step and each lesson was a lot of fun - and delicious. I have so many "go to" recipes in my repertoire now. A++
Marcello is extraordinary. I had my first lesson last week where I learned how to make an amazing, fresh sauce with zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and a little bit of olive oil. I didn't know I can make something so delicious yet so simple. Marcello really took the time to teach me the details of proper knife techniques, picking fresh ingredients, and proper cooking mechanics. I learnt so much in my first lesson, and I can't wait to have another lesson with him. Also, you get a lesson in Italian while you're at. This guy is great!
