I've been working with Jan for over a year and a half and she has helped me immensely in progressing in my music career. She is truly a professional songwriter, voice coach, and producer. She also teaches classes in Acting for Singers which I have taken. She creates a fun and supportive atmosphere in her private lessons as well as her classes which makes attending them truly enjoyable. She always focuses in on what I need to learn and does it in a very positive way. Anyone who wants to develop as a singer would be really lucky to have the opportunity to study under her and to have her guidance.

My experience has been very good.. At first I came in just wanting to sing songs but after taking a few weeks of lessons I have learnt so much more than I was expecting and really learned how to use my voice in the correct way!

We chose Emo to work with my 11 year old daughter via Skype for voice lessons. She was really nervous to have her very first voice lesson over Skype, and with a stranger, but Emo quickly put her at ease. He’s patient, encouraging, positive, and also really uses the 30 minutes fully. He wasn’t the cheapest vocal coach to respond to my thumbtack but he really knows what he’s doing and maximizes the 30 minute lesson. My daughter is really happy with him as her teacher and so am I!

I was looking for a serious voice lesson teacher to fill in the gaps in my technique and help me grow as a singer (specifically in classical/operatic style). I found that teacher in Rena. She really hones in on voice technique in ways no other teacher has before, and within 1 year of training with her, I have already significantly improved my breathing, control, and sound. I highly recommend her for anyone wanting to become a better singer, in any style, and at any level.

I have been taking private lessons at the Donna O Studio since my Sophomore year of high school in 2006. I did have to take time away from the studio for college but since moving back to the area, I have resumed lessons in opera, classical, and musical theater. I have loved the vocal instruction that I have received over these years at the studio. Donna is a master of her craft and you can really tell that she loves what she does. She invests so much of her time to her students and grooms them for vocal success. She is very good about explaining proper vocal technique and also the fundamentals of performance, auditioning, and even vocal anatomy; where our sound is coming from and how your whole body is used to create sound. She has many singers of all ages and vocal backgrounds so you'll be sure to find satisfaction in your vocal instruction! The best thing of all is that I am still learning new and wonderful things about my voice and am tackling new vocal goals!

Hi Marquita! I just wanted to thank you. I gave my first lecture since being coached by you with my breathing and speech. It went wonderfully! My voice didn’t get froggy, I didn’t cough or have to clear my throat, I remembered to take more time between sentences and breath more from my diaphragm. It went so well, I didn’t even remember to be nervous or anxious about those things. I spoke for an hour - and it felt really good to concentrate on just speaking from my heart. I know I didn’t spend a lot of time with you, but your “homework” is so valuable to me. I practice your lessons all the time, in little spurts, throughout the day…and it paid off. Thank you thank you Big hug - Alison

I have been taking voice lessons from Lou Savage for a few months now he is excellent. He has a great way of referencing a movie or describing a great meal or talking about how a sailboat sails on the water, and how these references can influence singing and learning how to use one's voice in performing. I have really enjoy my time with him. Thank you for everything Lou.

I worked with Kevin for over 2 years during my time at AMDA Los Angeles, and would have worked with him for the entire 3 years that I was there if I had to option to. Kevin is an extremely knowledgable vocal coach and it was an extremely beneficial experience. In vocal lessons, sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest only because they were communicated in a confusing way, but Kevin taught his lessons in very relatable terms and made sure I understood exactly what he meant before we moved on. He also paid attention to my strengths and weaknesses, catering to each equally. For example, he knew that I learned music very quickly and kept me motivated by giving me new songs to work on, while still focusing on my vocal weaknesses and never getting impatient if I was having difficulty. It was a true honor to work with such a patient, caring and knowledgable vocal coach, and if I ever come back to LA, I will be contacting him for more lessons. He was my voice teacher as well as my mentor during school, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking a voice teacher.

I have been taking lessons with Jamie since the middle of November. A short time after my lessons began I could already read the sheet music. She is very organized, she printed off helpful tips and music I was interested in and put them all in a folder with page protectors. She is always ready to go when I walk in for my lesson. Also she is very patient with my many mistakes.

It is with full confidence that I recommend Mia Slayford as a vocal coach. Mia has been teaching students to achieve their best singing voice for many years. Futhermore, Mia is capable of directing large groups and was instrumental in co-instructing a successful secondary school choir. Not only does Mia connect on a personal level with each student to help them reach their individual goals, her own talent and enthusiasm in the music profession is an inspiration to others. I can say from personal experience that Mia was instrumental in helping me develop my musical flare and I have the fondest memories of our time singing together. There is no person I can recommend more for their passion or expertise in this field. Mia is the perfect vocal coach to help anyone sing with confidence and will always go above and beyond to ensure lessons are engaging and fun! I hope this recommendation can help you make your decision with confidence!

I absolutely love working with Paul! I felt comfortable with him from the very first lesson, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t respond well when interacting with strangers. He’s always on time with his lessons, communicates with me, and always asks me for my feedback with the different techniques that we try so that he can understand how the lesson is being perceived from my end, as well as if it’s working. He really knows his stuff and is very informative on proper singing techniques and strategies, and knows what he wants to focus on in terms of bettering the student’s vocal abilities. Awesome vocal coach. Definitely a 10/10 recommendation

Radina is such a great teacher, always friendly, professional, patient, she knows what she is doing. I've been taking lessons with her now for about one year and I always look forward to my vocal lesson. We work on songs which I can pick but she also recommends great songs to practice.

I met Howard in1990, and had NOT played the piano for over 25 years! When I was 7-8 years old, I started my first lessons. I was, not at all knowing - BUT - I was a child prodigy! At 12, I asked my parents to let me go to Juillard! I didn't even know, back then, that everyone auditions to get into this World-REKNOWNED school! I would've gotten in! My Mother, who won all interactions with my Dad - said NO! For me - she said "Maybe for college!" To make a REALLY LONG story shorter - drugs & The 60s - GOT ME! In 1990, when Howard came into my life, I was already 7 yrs, clean & sober! AND - I had a hole in my heart, as my own music, was missing! My 1st lesson with Howard was EXTRA ORDINARY! I cried! I could NOT play a note! After awhile, that same lesson, Howard just told me to close my eyes, with my hands on the piano, and play anything! I DID! My embarrassment turned into tears of joy! After 1-2 yrs later - thinking of myself still, as a beginner (again), Howard asked me what I thought of - becoming a piano teacher! I didn't understand & I had NO degrees! Howard told me I only needed a degree to teach in Public Schools! I had, NEVER - in my life, allowed someone else to help me create my own path! BUT - watching Howard, teaching me & others - he was ALWAYS SMILING! I thought that, just MAYBE - I could be smiling too, AND - get paid for that too?!? Howard took a photo of me, helped me word a flyer, AND - actually, got me my very 1st student! I was TERRIFIED! Howard told me - just show up & you will know JUST WHAT TO DO! He even, because of my deep fear - told me that IF I could not show up - DON'T! Within 6 months of waitressing & a few piano students, AGAIN! Here comes Howard! A fellow piano teacher/friend - who had 30 students - found the love of HER life, was moving out-of-state & asked Howard what to do with her business!?! He told her to give it to D.J. (ME!) We met for lunch, & within 1 week, I was a full-time piano teacher!!!!! You want a referral? GO SEE HOWARD! 😊 XoX ❤️ There is no one - BETTER!!!!!

I always wanted to take voice lessons but never had the opportunity. One day I met Zach, there was something in me that said: “trust him.” Zach helped me value my voice through proper placement, daily conditioning, and various vocal excersises. Each session he was so patient with me. In time we began writing together, leading to the release of my first single. He coached me through each verse. Bringing things out of my voice I didn’t know existed. Taking lessons with Zach was definitely a huge step in the right direction. Great teacher, mentor, and producer , attentive to detail, and externally creative. Forever grateful for him helping me to come to know the artist I am today.

I have been taking lessons with Eugene for over three years now and it is one of the best decisions I have made. As a married adult with a full time job it has often been quite difficult to dedicate the time and energy needed to properly learn the craft of reading, writing and performing on the piano. However, Eugene's method of teaching is both educational and fun with a good technique of encouraging critiques. I have progressed by leaps and bounds since he and I have been working together. Eugene is a fully accomplished and confident musician. He is passionate about his craft and it it shows during each lesson I have had with him. I highly recommended Eugene to budding musicians of all ages. He is fantastic person and wonderful to work with.

I would say taking Charles' lessons is one of the greatest experiences to me. I am a college student but I'm not music major, I am looking for some vocal coach who is professional to help me adjust my voice to be sound and clear and also touch with the concept including music theory, head voice, chest voice etc. I am surprised at how professional Charles is. He always designs the lesson plans which is best for me, he is also patient and well organized about class materials. He gives me very kind advice and guide me step by step start from the very beginning like breath and how to pronounce. The lesson is interesting which contains various styles. I am pretty sure that he can find the best practice way for you. Charles have concert in DC areas regularly, which represents his professional skills. He is such a nice guy who is easy to get along with, if you have your specific needs, just talk to him, I'm sure he will help you in an efficient way. The rate is also reasonable. Thanks, Charles! I really learned a lot from the lessons.
